  1. I answered this in the other section on strategy I think, but if not I would say this isn't a terrible play pre-flop. Not optimal, but not terrible either and the flop play is fine as well IMO. The turn is where I really take a step back when the four card straight hits the board, maybe check or fire a small bet IDK which would be best, but you have to think a draw got there in this situation and then the river would have really sent me packing on this hand when the flush came and board paired. I don't know if its great but I slow WAY down on the turn here.
The only draw that gets there is a 7.

  3. post a hand history where you do this, or stfu. If someone posted that hand as a question in the NLHE forum, where the question point is what to do after huck bets, 100 percent of respondents would say call (well, maybe a few would say raise, no one would say fold) and several would berate for not betting the turn.
QFT, not to mention a whole bunch of...'omg, bet the flop and bet the turn!!!!! why are you checking!!!!'
  4. Am i the only one who thinks this call is just.....atrocious(sp?)On the bubble, 75/150 blinds. Im in the BB with AJ. I only had 1300 to start the hand. The SB had 1500 to start. We are the 2 short stacks.Folds to him he calls. I shove, he calls with 55.I lose.....maybe im just upset that I lost but is his call there not terrible?? Two other stacks were between like 1800-2000 so either of them *could* have gone out. But to call off 85-90% with a small pair like that on the bubble?? Is that bad or am I wrong there? And is my AJ shove standard in that spot?

  5. I think the only way you lose in those Double or Nothings is if you run into a better set or aces vs kings or something. I cash on about 90% of them by just playing nit poker.
Must be nice to run like a god.Not saying youre just getting lucky. Im just saying......you're running like a god. Shit will slow down, just wait.
  6. I thought Michael Carroll should have stayed out of the discussion. It wasn't fair to the Russian since Carol was the one saying how far he pushed his chips out. Carol was showing the TD an inch or two further than the actual event. Why wouldn't forward motion count?
at least i think thats the spelling.I dont think he was out of line here. I think had he challenged the bet in the first place, he would since he isnt in the hand. But after the TDs get called over I think he has a right to say what he think happened. But I could be wrong.....
  7. OMG, There have been better Phil Hellmuth quotes this main event than the previous 1 billion years.'another Queen Ten!!!!......He called a raise with a Queen Ten!!!!! I guarantee you I didn't teach you that at camp Hellmuth!!!!''I can't tell him what he really is cause then i'll get a penalty'This. Is. Gold.

  8. i just find it absolutely hilarious each time i hear of someone laying down second or third nuts in a precarious position and a dozen ppl coming in talking about how easy a laydown it is... ppl do bluff in this game... and they usually bluff ppl that can laydown hands... shut me up... someone feed me a legit HH that they laid down quads...ever.
Show me a HH where Quads can be beat by ONE single card.Youre saying 66 on a 4s5s6s7s6x board is an impossible fold??
  9. not sure what you mean--- a "simple" seven does not crush quads? are you talking about a "simple" seven on the river--- very confusing because the case seven is not simple.
Sure it is, it is a single seven. Its not look his opponent has to have two specific cards to have him beat. They just need one, and with two players already allin, they could easily have it.
I hear Phil Hellmuth mucked QQ to a single raise preflop. The guy reads souls for a living.
Its on youtube somewhere in very poor quality. It was a PAD that put like 5 pros against 1 amateur. The amateur raised in the CO with AQss, and Phil(would only have like 15BBs left) tanked forever and mucked.edit-
There you go. Like i said poor quality, the audio is about 4-5 seconds ahead of the video.
  10. oh ok nevermind... I thought you were the guy who got rivered lol, I retract my bbfidts statement.I hate that too it happens a lot in the low limit tourneys. If someone did it to me I would definitely report them. A couple days ago I called a guy's bluff when another player was telling me he was bluffing. I called because I knew he was bluffing, and the guy who typed in bluff kept saying I won the pot because it was him. So I reported his dumb ass lol.
lol, now thats funny. Basically bragging about being way out of line. Thats the thing though, sometimes like in your case you already figured him for a bluff...however there are some people who are stupid enough to call simply cause of the comment
  11. The $5k on Saturday was pretty bunk. The table I was at was ridic. I played decently imo. I busted Bax with AA>AK, and I saw him play the sickest hand I've ever seen in my life in my opinion. Infinity limpers, Scott Montgomery of the November 9 makes it 400 at 25-50 in the cutoff. I call in the SB, Bax calls in EP, Kevin Saul laughs, almost folds, giggles, shrugs, and calls 350 more in middle position. Flop 447. Check, check, check, Scott bets 700, I fold, Bax calls, Kevin makes it 2100, Scott calls, Kevin calls. Stacks are about 15k effective. Kevin says, after Bax's overcall and before the turn, "You flopped quads Bax." Not a question. A statement. Turn 7. Bax says, "There's somebody else in the hand," and bets 1500. I stand up and start laughing. Kevin looks like he just saw his grandmother naked, and reluctantly calls, and Scott calls. River is another 7, I really LOL, Bax bets 1500, Kevin ships like 10k total, Scott tanks, finally calls, and Bax *snap* mucks 44 face up. I bet that in the history in NLHE tournament poker nobody has ever flopped quads and then bet/folded the river
Probably because 999 times outta 1000, quads is either the nuts, or VERY hard to beat. bet/folding there after that action is not so sick. If the board was just 4477x on something like that, then yeah sick fold. But not so hard when a simple 7 crushes you, and with two players allin, if you call you are hoping that they just have overpairs.

Yeah how tight some people play on the bubble is so horrible, it really isnt funny. I usually 4-table these things, and usually I would go 4/4 ro 3/4, went 2/4 on one occasion but did very well usually. However, earlier I found out what it is like to run bad in these. Played 4, went like this;I have AK, flop comes J high...I have KK-TT, flop comes Axx. Went out in the 4 with.....22<A5dd allin on turn, 2d3d8xTx, river 7dAJcc<QQ allin on flop of 3c2c2x, i brick66<AQ AIPF, board comes JxxQAAA<AQ allin on Qxx flop, turn Q. This one was on the bubble and crippled me to 1xBBKind of a good wake up call that youre not always gonna show fantastic results, even if you play multible ones. I usually get mad but was kinda cool since I have ran so well. After each one I was just kinda like, 'meh'....and moved on.

  14. Negreanu Folds Kings PreFlopMonday, October 20, 2008 05:35 PM PDT After a series of raises, Matt keikoan moves all in for 29,800. Negreanu agonizes for serval minutes before folding pocket kings face up!Keikoan shows the A but chooses not to show his other hole card. any chance he moves in with AK? i find it very unlikely
Me too, if he had AK he probably would either muck it, or show both cards. Doubt he would show just the A.
  15. I think mentioning the names is enough. I also think any competent player won't play a SNG with 2 or more similar players of the same name.
When i wanna play a SnG, I click it and hit the 'register' button. I, along with what I believe is the high percantage of players, dont look in the lobby to see if two players have similar names.
