  2. Well Pokerstars gave me $5 and since then I have never gone broke. I'm on my way though -- was up to $50 and I've just had my first bad run, so I'm down to $30. Grrr.
  3. I can't tell you what they are thinking about you, but if I were at that table, after seeing you shove with A8 and especially A3, I would definitely be willing to call with worse than AJ.
  4. Razz is cool. The only form of Stud that I seem to be able to win at, lol. :)GL bro, I'm going to bed. Will look up the results in the morning. You seem to be playing solid & smart, so I'll be expecting a win!
  5. So was my question idiotic from the start, or did this just get randomly de-railed?I don't mind, though. I like this getting bumped to increase my chances of getting a useful answer. ;)The collusion comment did get a laugh from me.
  6. Gl bub. Hope you become the next Ivey, Laak, Hellmuth, or Gordon!
  7. Just curious. Trying to join a 2 person tournament at the same time as someone else doesn't seem like a good idea. Is there a way to create private tournaments or something?
  8. TheRegime, you say we aren't factoring in the bluffing potential of our opponents, but are you factoring in your bluffing potential? Say you raise with 44 on the cutoff, the button folds, and the flop comes A-J-7. If it's checked around to you, you can almost always take this down with a continuation bet. People will be folding suited connectors that missed, pocket pairs higher than 5s, kings, sevens, and even weak aces depending on your opponents. If you hadn't raised with your 44 preflop, you wouldn't have had control of the hand, and this option would not be available to you. The way you ar
  9. OMG, I laughed so hard after watching the expressions on the pro's faces in that video! Lindgren looks a little amused and incredulous, Ivey looks downright shocked, and I can't tell what Harman is thinking.

    Wtf

    That hand is truly amazing.
  11. I was amused by that as well. I think he probably glanced at the forum to see if there were any threads about this, and replied to this one without reading the OP.
  12. Well, I just had the same guy suck out on me four times throughout one tournament, LOL. One really really bad suckout where I had a flush draw + pair and he didn't have anything, and he hit one of merely two outs to win. Came in second to him at the end.So I'm up for a barrage in a few minutes after I take a quick shower.
  13. I probably should do this, since it will encourage me to play better. I'm in a tournament already though. (See how I'm posting here instead of watching the game? So bored heh). I'll do it once this one finishes if people are still up for it.EDIT: Ehh, nvm. Just gonna go to bed.
  14. Yep, or maybe even AK.The only time to fold would be if he was ultratight, but you said he was very aggressive. Even then, it's usually worth shoving vs. ultratight players unless you have a physical read of some sort. For example, if they literally shit themselves but refuse to leave the quit before the hand is over, they might have aces.
  15. Maybe I should have just gone AIPF lol. People will call you with silly hands and the only things I have to worry about are QQ, KK, and AA.Another thing to factor in here is that if I bust out early, I can just go jump into another tournament. It could hurt my ROI, but help my hourly rate.Poker Addict, I think your logic about flush draw boards doesn't make sense. If I know that someone is going to call all-in with a flush draw, does that mean I should be more aggressive on these boards? After all, if I can give them horrible odds and they call, I will make money in the long run. When I saw tw
  16. Okay it sounds like the consensus is that I played it (roughly) correctly.Here's the thing that makes me so annoyed with these donkaments though:FTR Hand History Converter Output (intended for copying and pasting into poker forums!):PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00+$0.20 Tournament, 10/20 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comMP1 (t1300)MP2 (t1490)MP3 (t1260)CO (t1840)mr.p.mac (Button) (t1470)SB (t1280)BB (t720)UTG (t2410)UTG+1 (t1730)Preflop: mr.p.mac is Button with J , J :heart:UTG calls t20, UTG+1 raises to t80, 1 fold, MP2 calls t80, 2 folds, mr.p.mac raise
  17. Well, we have an interesting issue at stake here.Since we assume that these players are very bad, should we wait and outplay them later, or should we try to bust them here? The problem is, if we don't get those chips, some other better players will.Obviously we feel really dumb if we call and they show QQ, KK, AA, two pair, or a set. But we feel really bad if we fold the overpair and we see TPTK, flush draws, middle pair, etc.Just for the record, I came in 2nd in the tournament. Should have come in first, but it was getting late and I made a stupid all-in PF move out of laziness.I'm hoping som
  18. Hey thanks for the heads up, bub. I wonder if my game would improve if I started using those.
  19. For some reason this hand isn't converting properly. Sorry.PokerStars Game #20314293044: Tournament #107510824, $1.00+$0.20 Hold'em No Limit - Level I (10/20) - 2008/09/11 1:59:16 ETTable '107510824 1' 9-max Seat #5 is the buttonSeat 1: roky8102 (1300 in chips) Seat 2: superawes0me (1490 in chips) Seat 3: JT Knudson (1260 in chips) Seat 4: MikeSorrie (1840 in chips) Seat 5: mr.p.mac (1470 in chips) Seat 6: pbycpoker (1280 in chips) Seat 7: bASSfISHER4 (720 in chips) Seat 8: zeebay.b (2410 in chips) Seat 9: Candlewaster (1730 in chips) pbycpoker: posts small blind 10bASSfISHER4: posts big blind
  20. It's what we call a "bluff call." People call all-in with the nut low in Hold 'Em all the time, so why not do a similar thing in Stud? Obviously the OP was hoping for a bluff call. This thread got several laughs out of me.
  21. I actually sucked out on a guy (QQ>KK) in the one I'm in when I called his all-in bet preflop. He was shoving with stuff like 35 unsuited though so I don't feel bad about it.
  22. Wow, I'm playing one.Every time someone loses a big pot, whether because of a bad beat or because they played stupidly, they go all-in on the next hand. Every. Time. Why can't I have aces and finish them off? Sigh...
  23. It seemed sincere to me. I'm glad he did it. My opinion of him is back to normal.
