  1. Dropkick Murphys - "The Gauntlet"
  2. This one's more interesting for the postscript...HS Lacrosse, I'm playing goal. A guy behind the net loses his defenseman. He comes around the crease, and is pretty close. I decided the best course of action is to put the guy on the ground. I charge him, and my helmet hits his ribs, ball pops loose - the play worked out perfecty.Later that night, I go to a party. I'm talking to a girl, when a guy comes up. Heres the conversation:Girl: How are your ribs?Guy: Sore.Me:What happened?Guy: I cracked three of them in a lacrosse game.Me: Who do you play for?Guy: (Names school I had played agains
  3. I prefer real chest toys to fake chest toys so I favor Courtney.
  4. After I got home from visiting my father, a Wild Turkey front moved in.
  5. I fold PF even with the caller. If I decide to play without a huge stack, and get that flop, I push immediately. If I play suited connectors I'm hoping for either a flush draw or an OESD. With that stack size I push if I get the desired result - and I did.
  6. I'm not good enough to do anything other than push there. If he has AA or KK good for him, if not I'm a favorite. My stack isn't bad, but objectively, it isn't great either. If I'm trying for the FT, I have to win hands like these so I'm willing to gamble.
  7. You're talking about the spin-off for a later date. We're still working on ARTILLERY!, when ARTILLERY! peaks we'll try the spin-off BOMBS AWAY, but first we have to get the concept established. That being said, I'm perfectly willing to use captured German 88s against Michael Moore.
  8. Thanks for the good thoughts. I shall sip again.
  9. It's funny that you should mention this. I was working from the guard with a much more experienced student, and I was doing great in my guard - until the sweat on my ankles caused me to lose my lock.I can't wait until Tuesday! That said, I'm coming off one of the crappiest nights of my life. My mother told me, "There's something wrong with your father." I get there and he's got a fever and shaking. I drive him and my mother to the ER. I'm stuck in the waiting room with nothing to do, so I start doing my BJJ warm-up exercises just to pass the time. I must have looked like a freak, but I ne
  10. Bump I'm about 1000ml into a bottle of potato vodka, on one of the worst nights of my life. I had to drive my father to the emergency room, and then sat there for 7 hours until they figured out what was wrong. In all my life, I had never heard him complain of pain, but even after a shot of morphine he was still hurting. Turns out it's appendicitis, and he'll have surgery tommorrow. I'm relieved, but 7 hours in an ER waiting room will play havoc with the psyche.I need another sip.
  11. Adam Graves - without questionHe might not have been the best, and his career was curtailed by injury, but you always knew two things - he left everything he had on the ice, and he was a great person off it.
  12. I'm going to eventually start doing Gi training when I go to three days a week. For now I can only handle two. I was still sore from Tuesday's session tonight and could tell that it had an impact on my performance. Before the other night, my last serious athletic activity was a roller-hockey game that took place between Christmas and New Years. Before that, it was something like a roller-hockey game in September. For the first two weeks, I'm going to do my two times a week exclusively. Then, I plan on adding two days of weights/cardio. Eventually, I hope to go to at least three days with
  13. It's about friggin' time something's getting done about this. At a time when the rights of U.S. citizens are at an all-time low, there are people talking about letting people come into this country and/or remain here without a single check into their backgrounds?
  14. Paraphrase of an old Sam Kinison routine...So I called up this gambling rehab place the other day - for a friend. They told me it cost $20,000 for a three week program. $20,000 for a three week program? If you have $20,000 or still know people who will loan you $20,000, YOU HAVEN'T GOT A PROBLEM!!! Oh! OHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
  15. Well they were going to do sparring at around 9:30. I had started at 6:30, and since I am woefully out of shape I would have been completely useless by the time they got to actual sparring.
  16. I fold AQ UTG even 6 handed. I hate, hate, hate that hand. If I'm not in a spot where I'm willing to shove it PF, I fold it. Since I've made that decision, I watched my results improve.
  17. I'm so looking forward to tommorrow - well later tonight. The warm-up itself is incredible. As someone who's an experienced consumer of phyiscal therapy, and used to do over an hour of stretches a day just to be able to survive college lacrosse practice, I was amazed at the flexibility training that's included in the warm-ups.As for my first day, I did tap twice, but then again we didn't spar. For the more experienced, does this sound like a good beginner program (although I - in effect - stayed through parts of the intermediate session).Warm up/FlexibilityFalls/SprawlsShoot/Sprawl EscapesGuard
  18. Where I'm going, three nights a week are labled "Kimono", and two nights are "No-Gi". For now I'm going to start with the "No-Gi" nights. If I decide I want to add more nights, I'll do so and spring for the gi.I'm in Westchester.
  19. Stack sizes are vital to any answer to this question.
  20. I have no intention of that happening. Here's an interview from my instructor...Shawn Alvarez
  21. I just had my first class in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tonight. It was simply incredible. I had so much fun, and even though I've been heroically lazy of late was able to keep up because I enjoyed it so much.Anyone else into BJJ?
  22. Addicted to it.It's hands down the best of the "fighting" reality shows. Unlike "The Contender" or DeLaHoya's attempt, this one shows the whole fight. I think it's a great show.I don't know if the Shamrock-Ortiz thing was a great idea. Fighters often end up switching teams, and with two coaches who don't like each other, it might become a problem.
  23. I wish I remembered my first - and only - win, but I was hammered. The next day, I knew I'd won but if you asked me about asked me about a specific hand, I wouldn't have a clue.
  24. I'll second (or third) Better Off Dead, Airheads and the all-time classic Big Trouble in Little China. Now I'll add...
