  1. Just got crippled.J-7 big blind.Flop j-7-qHe raised 10,000I called.Turn 10, he raised 8kI went all in and he called with q-10I just won two allins and have about 40k after picking up a few limpers and blinds.26th out of 27 right now.SHIT! was about to hit the reply and the damn thing came back on the screen and I called 20k with 7-4!

  2. Damn, They just put me at the chip leaders table.BB and had 10-8. Checked and flopped k-10-10.Raised big because of flush draw. He called and turn hit an 8. He bet small and I called. No flush hit so I bet and he just called. He had 8s and turned the FH.Still have $60k

  3. Congrats, any more updates Paul?
Made $18 bucks on the 12. Went out somewhere after the bubble. Not a lot compared to the live tourney's but it's a great start from the tips. Currently 17 with 41 left in the 2.20I have about $115,000This is hilarious! I have won two seats in live tournaments to the ME and I'm just about as excited in this damn little 2.20 as I was in the second win! LOL
  4. About 300 left in each and I'm above average in one and about average in the other.Had a couple of major suckouts but that's poker. I realize that "That's poker" means, "You're a freakin idiot!".I know these are some really tiny tournaments but the increase in play is huge for me. Reading through all the threads has been a great help. It's also nice to see the same hand situation as topic headings to refer to.

  5. 30BBs deep and you got it in with the best hand.Where is the question?
My problem was this.I was wondering if the best move would have been to call and then if there was no ace on the flop go all in.This would get the 8-8 and A-K hands out.
  6. The reraise is good because a call commits villain, and he basically has to shove if he wants to 3bet. And you obviously want to reraise with KK here.I'm guessing MP's stack wasn't mentioned because he folded?
He did fold. He had about $4000. Result:Villain called all-in. He turned over 8s.River turned an 8.Bad night tonite.AA beat by 8-8. Made twice the river turned an 8. Sunday Millions10-10 by 9-9. Rivered a 9 11+1 tournamentJJ beat by 44. Rivered 4 in a 22 tournamentHad 10-8 in bb. two limpers. Flop 7-9-10 turn 6 and went all-in. gun called with 88. Villain called with j-q and hit an 8 on the river. 22 tournamentLast tournament was 9d-7d in sb. one limper. bb checked. flop came 5d-8d-10d. limper raised and I went all in. He called with JJ. Turn was J and river was 5. 12 tournamentI always say that you should leave on a bad beat or you weren't playing good poker but this is rediculous!Anyone have a xanex? Thanks for the response though.

  8. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00+$0.20 Tournament, 25/50 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comCO (t465)Button (t1250)SB (t7292)BB (t1530)UTG (t1860)UTG+1 (t3200)MP1 (t1830)Hero (MP2) (t1600)MP3 (t1065)Hero's M: 21.33Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Aclub.gif, Kclub.gif3 folds, Hero raises to t200, MP3 calls t200, 2 folds, SB calls t175, 1 foldFlop: (t650) 10diamond.gif, 4diamond.gif, 7club.gif(3 players)SB checks, Hero checks.SB was a very spewy lag. He had been doing weird stuff like opening for 1500 and opening for 600. MP3 was pretty bad, he hadn't got much going since the start. In a previous hand, he was sitting on a stack of about 600 and had opened 4 x BB on the button with AKs. A station in the blinds had called, donked into him and he'd shoved his AK on a QJ2 board. the station called with Q7 and MP3 had rivered the T. What do you think of the check?
I guess you could argue the fact that there could be a open ended strt draw and a flush draw lurking and maybe a bet would get them out but the check is ok here I think. If the SB has anything here, he might call anything hoping to bust you out. You just don't have enough chips to push a guy like that around. Great opportunity to trap him later.
  9. Nah I wasn't saying that they don't post all the videos, I'm just saying they probably just watch them all and decide which "lesson" fits best next, and so on...and I don't know what you mean about half -ass site? Honestly to me it seems like the most well designed/packaged site out there, it's got some annoying kinks but those will get fixed, I'm sure. Do you not remember what Cardrunners looked like when it first started? I think the site is software is amazing and a lot of the more interactive sections are great. I do think that the site hasn't reached it's full potential yet, but will soon.. wait till we have a wider selection of archived videos, more live videos and stuff like that, I honestly think it'll blow other sites away.
JC-I totally agree that it isn't a half-ass site, I just think the guys are getting fed up that support will not even respond to us anymore. It's like it's on hold until Daniel gets back.I think the site has great potential but it needs more organization and an easier way to find what will help you.The frustration is setting in on everyone. We all see Daniel all over the hockey and Obama forums but he doesn't respond to anyone here anymore. Matt, Adam, and you are the only ones that are really here talking about anything anymore. I know several guys at the casino that never respond to anything here because of the bashing that goes on and have asked me if PVT has it's own forum. They're a little afraid that if they get on there and want to ask something here then they'll get bombed. I'm telling you that you, Adam, Boostedj, Annette... all of you are just as talented as Daniel in your own format. They need to have you do the SB video format and keep up a little more if they want to be successful. I know that I could personally improve a ton if I could see each of you tell your style or describe other PATL styles in the SB format. That's what made the site successful for a while. Everything just goes on hold or they are fed just enough videos to keep them hanging on. I know that the major pros can't be here everyday but there are some really good players out there that play 1/2nl, 10/20 limit, and online small stakes everyday that give great advice that could be paid to give daily updates to the site. Thanks for responding here again. I just wish Daniel would take a little time off the hockey site and obama site to talk to his customers about why support isn't responding to anyone anymore. As you can see by the "lol @ Paul B defending himself" response, I have lost all credibility on this site due to defending PVT so much. I am grateful for the tournament success it has brought me. I won another $220 live tournament again the other night but I think at this point, I could win the ME and they would not trust me.
  10. I might make the call with the suited ace here. After the flop, I would have checked. I want to keep the pot size under control as much as possible. Raising here and having him call places you in a tough position. Sounds like the type of player that might make a move preflop with q9 or Q8. That dreaded J-8 favorite hand could be staring you in the face and sucking you in. If you raise on the flop and he just calls you have to feel that he has the strt already, is on the same draw as you or has a flush draw. All of which you don't want.On the turn with the Q, you have made your point with the raise already so any bet here is just handing him some chips for a draw. I'm out before this. Take all of this with a grain of salt as far as online. I have won several big live tournaments in the last few months but have only played a couple of online tournaments and you are way past me already in this tournament. Make a deal with ya. You message me for live tournament play and I'll message you for online tournament tips.

  11. Ok following post involves a few assumptions so bare with me. Im 19 and play exclusively online small stakes cash, sngs, mtts I can honestly go through the new weekly content in about an hour or so. This is a problem since im paying 30 bucks for what breaks down to 4 hours of material per month. I come to the FCP forum and what do u know i find this post referring to exactly my problem. I see daniel's post about lacking content because of him being out of the country and not being able do audio for new videos. Hmmmm..since pokervt should have known that daniel was going to be gone and the content would be very thin, why is the price the same? If they honestly cared about customer care they could have:1) created a special price for these few months. and/or 2) let us know on FCP or PVT website itself that the new videos were coming out slower than intended and dont worry faster flow of content will be out after such and such date. and/or3) emailed us about the problem, they do have all our emails. JC even posted that he had some tourney vids that he submitted but were not on the site yet. Does this mean no matter how many videos the guys make the site will post the same amount every week to spread content? I hope not. We will find out really quick based on DN's comments about being MIA til now. Dont get me wrong all the videos posted are great and all the online pros do a good job conveying thoughts of hand ranges, reads, steals, equity, etc. I absolutely respect them for all their accomplishments in the game, and dont fault them for wanting to get paid by the site to post their videos. My 3 month initial sign up is over at the end of the month and im not sure if im gonna cancel or not. I honestly chose PVT over DC and CR because i thought a notable live pro like DN as the face of the site would mean good quality becuase if not his rep would be tarnished being associated with it. This site honestly now seems like a random entreprenuer who got Daniel help him make this half-ass site to make a quick buck. Looks like the online player orientated DC or CR might be my next choice. So basically i need more new videos per week to stay a member.PS: lol @ Paul B defending himself
Great post. I really think that they need to improve on the format and get some real content out there instead of just short Q&A. SB format needs to be done on all PATL formats. As far as the lol@ me defending myself. No need on tournament play. Great need in cash and internet. I'm already looking into other areas on the internet for that and when I break into the same success at one of them, they'll be bashing me on their forums if I find the same amount of success there. Hope you have that type of success too.
  12. I thought Power Hold 'em was pretty good, not unbelievably excellent but it was good.PVT is not worth signing up for at the current time. They seriously need to improve the quantity, and the quality doesn't merit the money spent on it.
Jam-I have to agree somewhat here except I really don't think it's the quantity. They have a ton of videos. It's the origaniazation of the site and the way they are letting the other coaches teach. I really don't know why they are not utilizing the success of the way Daniel taught the SB with the other guys. If they would have Adam and BoostedJ teach every detail the same way as Daniel taught SB it would be fantastic. They have a good marriage of players but they are not utilizing them well. I think it's a waste of tallent. Some of the internet pros are every much as talented online as Daniel is in tournament play. I was taught by Paul Wasicka and I would love to see him show his type of play in the SB format. I still think that if they would find all the PATL types of players and have them show their type of play in Daniels format, it would make one of the most well rounded sites out there. I don't think they set out to make another Cardrunners and Deuces Cracked sites and they were well on their way with the SB format. Now they are just kinda throwing tons of videos out there without a search engine to find them. Good advice Jam, for now. I had one of the guys I gave a 24 hour pass to ask me for another one because his didn't work. The one I gave to his friend did but not his. I can't even get the cards. They are really lacking in support since Matt was taken off the support end. I understand that things are going to get better now that Daniel and the guys are back but we heard the same thing after the WSOP so I am not promising anything anymore. I got nailed for talking up for them last time and I just got a few nails out of me after that so I'll just say again, we'll see. I think they need a few coaches from the strat site to maybe take some of the slack when they go off on these tournament benges. Such as Looshle, BigD, and several more.Still can't complain about the tournament teachings. Took 9th and chopped first out of three tournaments this week. :club:
  13. Hey everyone I bought Daniel's Book Power Hold'em Strategy and read through the entire thing and took a lot from it. I also have looked into poker vt and it looks like it would be a good investment. I was wondering if I would be just getting the same information or would it be worth buying just for the way the information is presented. Thanks.
One thing I would like to throw out there. If I were you, I would go to every site I could and at least look through it. I know that some of the others give free time too. Read everything you can get your hands on. Read everything, check every avenue out. If you notice, you hear Daniel and all the guys talk about a lot of different mentors. He's one of my mentors just like several guys here that are just FCP posters are mentors too. I tried them all. It's just that Daniel's small ball got me going in the tournaments. Now if I could just find someone's way that clicks in cash and online. THe book is pretty good though, isn't it!?Paul
  14. FYP
Me too. I'm calling. I know he has a better strait and flush draw but oh well. I need chips to battle these guys or they'll just push the crap out of me.I would rather double up early and have a fighting chance or go out early and cry over a big steak. Besides, I'm here to win!

Dude if you want to make a killing at tournament, you can't go wrong! I have made a killing. Over 20 final tables since I signed up. Easy, easy, easy to understand the way Daniel teaches it. On the other hand.... if you want to use if for small cash games or online, I really hate to say it but you need to wait until they get a little more organized and have a little more time to get that information down like the SB segment. If you just want to learn the SB segment, it will really enhance the book. Otherwise, stay around here for a while and start posting in the strategy forum and the guys there are a lot more into small stakes play and hand analysis. The hand analysis is really working well for me in small cash games. When they get it all together, it will be the top spot. Just not quite there yet for small cash and small stake online.I would give you a 24 hour pass but they must have ran out.Btw, JC is great!!! Good luck and I hope you do well and make the right decision for you!
  16. Sometimes VBNautilus Reminds me of this...Man: Is this the right room for an argument? Other Man:(pause) I've told you once. Man: No you haven't! Other Man: Yes I have. M: When? O: Just now. M: No you didn't! O: Yes I did! M: You didn't! O: I did! M: You didn't! O: I'm telling you, I did! M: You didn't! O: Oh I'm sorry, is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? M: Ah! (taking out his wallet and paying) Just the five minutes. O: Just the five minutes. Thank you. O: Anyway, I did. M: You most certainly did not! O: Now let's get one thing perfectly clear: I most definitely told you! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh no you didn't! O: Oh yes I did! M: No you DIDN'T! O: Oh yes I did! M: No you DIDN'T! O: Oh yes I did! M: No you DIDN'T! O: Oh yes I did! M: Oh look, this isn't an argument! (pause) O: Yes it is! M: No it isn't! (pause) M: It's just contradiction! O: No it isn't! M: It IS! O: It is NOT! M: You just contradicted me! O: No I didn't! M: You DID! O: No no no! M: You did just then! O: Nonsense! M: (exasperated) Oh, this is futile!! (pause) O: No it isn't! M: Yes it is! (pause) M: I came here for a good argument! O: AH, no you didn't, you came here for an argument! M: An argument isn't just contradiction. O: Well! it CAN be! M: No it can't! M: An argument is a connected series of statement intended to establish a proposition. O: No it isn't! M: Yes it is! 'tisn't just contradiction. O: Look, if I *argue* with you, I must take up a contrary position! M: Yes but it isn't just saying "no it isn't". O: Yes it is! M: No it isn't! O: Yes it is! M: No it isn't! O: Yes it is! M: No it ISN'T! Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says. O: It is NOT! M: It is! O: Not at all! M: It is! The Arguer hits a bell on his desk and stops. O: Thank you, that's it. M: (stunned) What? O: That's it. Good morning. M: But I was just getting interested! O: I'm sorry, the five minutes is up. M: That was never five minutes!! O: I'm afraid it was. M: (leading on) No it wasn't..... O: I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to argue any more. M: WHAT?? O: If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes. M: But that was never five minutes just now! Oh Come on! Oh this is... This is ridiculous! O: I told you... I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you PAY! M: Oh all right. (takes out his wallet and pays again.) There you are. O: Thank you. M: (clears throat) Well... O: Well WHAT? M: That was never five minutes just now. O: I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid! M: Well I just paid! O: No you didn't! M: I DID!!! O: YOU didn't! M: I DID!!! O: YOU didn't! M: I DID!!! O: YOU didn't! M: I DID!!! O: YOU didn't! M: I-dbct-fd-tq! I don't want to argue about it! O: Well I'm very sorry but you didn't pay! M: Ah hah! Well if I didn't pay, why are you arguing??? Ah HAAAAAAHHH! Gotcha! O: No you haven't! M: Yes I have! If you're arguing, I must have paid. O: Not necessarily. I *could* be arguing in my spare time. M: I've had enough of this!O: No you haven't. (door slam)
    Great MP post Pot!
  17. This thread might be the greatest thread ever. I liked it for a while but the gagging-on-**** spam just puts it up over the top.
I think you're right. The sad thing is, I don't think there is anyone at PVT listening. Going back to the original idea of this thread.....I kinda gave up after they stopped responding to my emails after I placed a suggestion for more content myself. I was like a fanstruck idiot that kept taking names from people that were emailing or asking me at tournaments and casinos for the 24 hour pass cards. I would take their names and address and kept them nice and neat. After I had over 150 of them in my little, idiot book, (Like I was getting paid for it. HA!!!) I finally tossed the damn thing in the trash.
