  1. TREK. It's Star Trek: The Next Generation. Yeah, I was afraid of that. Everybody loves that screen shot. Well, welcome anyway, I guess. You should just go ahead and get into Star Trek. It's...it's pretty important.
  2. Welcome from a guy whom you'll probably have more posts than by the end of the month. Also, I assume from your avatar that you also love Star Trek and want to be friends. We can talk about how much girls like us.
  3. I actually never knew how agr was determined. Thanks for defining that.
  4. I just don't know how to play this kind of situation. 5. I want everyone to be friends :'(Seriously, I think "nit" is just being taken as weak, rather than selective. Different perceived connotations, whatever. The important thing is that we all hug and get along and continue to respond to my threads so I suck less :-)
  6. Is it bad that I seem to lack confidence with this hand? Just never seem to know if I'm playing it right. 8. So it's not transparent that I'll be betting less when it's just a c-bet/bluff? I've always thought that keeping things consistent like that might be a bit overrated at this limit, as people don't seem to be too attentive, but I haven't acted according to that yet.
  9. I actually did realize this a bit too late. I'm gonna work on paying attention to things... Good call
  10. So just do the opposite of everything?Baby, you're completely right on the preflop commentary. I suppose I am just still working on when to limp, what with the importance of aggression being talked about all the time. You've helped, though, I guess it just takes another person to say something you already know one more time. Say it was folded to me. What do you think, then?I agree, the .30 guy is scary, but I figure I at least have odds with him. I find that the minbet is sometimes on a draw, so maybe I even get lucky there. Again, I just felt that UTG didn't have a hand. I acknowledge
  11. I can't tell whether or not you're kidding...I guess I was checking the river as a means of pot control, but I suppose there was no way a better hand was checking, and as dictius said, I'm gonna call his bet.Everybody is saying I should have bet more along the way. I bet like this because this is how I normally c-bet, whether I have it or not. Does this mean that they should always be bigger? Maybe I'm treating turn bets too much like flop bets?

  14. How are these events? What are they like? I used to see the commercials for these all the time when I was too young to play. I recently turned eighteen, but I forgot about this. I mostly play $10 NLHE and .25/.50 LO8, but my fishy $50 NL home game would allow me to play a little out of bankroll. It would be cool to play live. Are there still total donks at these, or are they all at the casinos? Just looking for a little information. I live in Lake county, by the way.
  15. Don't you leave me for him! Good luck, OP :-)
  16. Thanks! I actually did try that out, just looking for suggestions on which one to go with, I found a few. I am lazy, though, so good call.
  17. My friend is hosting his annual Christmas time poker tournament, and I'm looking to help him out a little. Last time I played in it, he was pretty unorganized and blinds didn't escalate...ever. It was also a shootout with about eight tables with four guys each...kinda weird. I know I've seen at least a few different pieces of software for organizing a tournament like this, and I'm looking for suggestions on a free tool for him. I think we're expecting about thirty people, and have eight hours or so to play NLHE. Thanks in advance.
  18. Man, those observations seem like they could be really helpful. Thanks for posting. As far as application, I'm not sure. I try and play heads up matches, so a lot of this is obviously useful in those situations. A lot of people at these low stakes (you're playing .25/.50 ftp, right?) tend to feel good with any low hand, no matter how shitty. It seems that maybe high only hands and shitty pairs with some low potential might be better than you'd think in the multi-way pots that always go down.
  19. I dunno about tech freaks...Most techies can't watch AOTS without cursing G4 and thinking about how much better screensavers was...
  20. Do you notice any better play at .50/1 on full tilt? I'm playing .25/.50 now, and I can't believe how bad people are at this. I said it before...yesterday. But I can't get over it. I'm with you Tanner, having fun playing it, too. The section on it in Hwang's PLO book seems to have been very helpful. Might consider checking it out. A lot of quiz and scenario stuff, I find it helpful. Especially considering the relatively low frequency of strat posts for this game.
  21. What is a buy-in considered for limit? I thought it was just in terms of big bets. I've been sitting with forty, anyway.Antistuff, are you saying rake is worse at 1/2 and 2/4? Or are you saying that rake still sucks, but players are better?
  22. We play PLO8 at my home game, but that's about all the experience I have. I just read Hwang's Pot Limit Omaha, and if I understood anything from that limit section (which I think I did), these guys playing $.25/.50 on Full Tilt are horrible. However, I'm quickly learning that rake kind of sucks in this game...Is it beatable? Should I move up? I don't really even know what proper bankroll management is for this game. Little help?
