  1. I think a leak in my game is that i would have just called with this hand because i personally dont see it as having alot of scooping potential, but like i said, i think it is a leak in my game. You have to continuation bet on the flop, i agree with you there. You are really only getting raised by K J on the turn unless someone spiked an A Q or A A to hit top two or a set, even then they may just call because they fear you have A A. I agree with the river play though, part of me would think he might have slept on a K J here, or has the same hand, but either play is good.
  2. Oh i agree, i am still getting comfortable again so i can 3 bet those types of hands so they look disguised as big low draws. The good side is high hands are easy to get away from if you miss, where as lows can be tempting to stay in. I am still forcing myself to get in the mindset that raising A A Q 5 in position is good and in early position is okay, but not as good. It is slowly coming back
  3. I am talking about open raising and being in late position with raises in front mostly
  4. Well after roughly a 2 year hiatus i am making a return back to the tables with a small stack and grinding my way back up hopefully. Hi/lo used to be my speciality but there were always a few leaks in my game, one of them being how to play high only hands. I am just curious what range you guys like to have for high only hands and what position. I am torn between folding hands like K Q 10 J and such from middle position. What hands do you guys look for and how do you play em?
  5. So i am on the fence with this one. With this two card draw and a raise in front of us and the amount of players, do we 3-bet, or do we call and welcome all the players with this type of hand? Once i am down to a one card draw, should i have lead out?PokerStars Game #21602376462: Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball Limit ($0.10/$0.20) - 2008/10/29 19:21:30 ETTable 'Siegena II' 6-max Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 1: outdraw209 ($5.36 in chips) Seat 2: modracer228 ($1.58 in chips) Seat 3: melchizadek0 ($7.86 in chips) Seat 4: bassplayer45 ($4 in chips) Seat 5: Donnzorz ($6.22 in chips) Seat 6: Andrew100 ($9.
  6. So i know my pre-draw limp is pretty bad, i think i either have to raise or drop this? But after the first draw is it just bet it down? 8. Full 7 handed game.Say i raise, or i call a raise and my opponent is out of position and draws 2. What are the weakest holdings we can pat with. I will almost always pat with anything J or better if they draw one, but if they draw two, can we venture into Q and K pat hands?
  9. So i sat down to play a quick 1 hour session and the game was short handed so i figured there would be no fireworks, instead i find a bunch of gold stars who think they can bully the table and outsmart everyone, then these hands happenedPokerStars Game #21035979312: Single Draw 2-7 Lowball No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - 2008/10/08 17:46:45 ETTable 'McElroy IV' 7-max Seat #4 is the buttonSeat 3: Ricksplay ($14.65 in chips) Seat 4: newyork06 ($20.90 in chips) Seat 5: beejill ($9.10 in chips) Seat 6: bassplayer45 ($15 in chips) beejill: posts small blind $0.25bassplayer45: posts big blind $0.50*** DEA
  10. 2 card draws are very decpetive, he could have easily had a 5 3 4 in his hand and drew to a 9 or a better 10. I doubt he is pushing with a made J low here, it is too risky, but i have seen donks do it. I just take a deep breath and fold, you can wait for a better spot then calling off all your chips with a 10 8 low.
  11. Thanks for the tips, so far things have been going well. I only had 25 bucks left on stars and was just taking a shot to learn the game and have gotten it up to 58 or so just taking down small pot after small pot. There are so many fish in the game who call raises and draw 2 or 3 and will call a continuation bet with J lows or worse when you stand pat, it is great.
  12. Yeah, it is a slow grind, but i am getting the hang of it. There are some interesting situations i am working out currently to see which are more profitable.1.) Is it more profitable to check a made 8 low on a one card draw to your opponent, or lead out.2.) Re-raising pat 9's in position, even good 10's3.) What are the thinnest draws or pat hands we can raise with in early position. Currently i won't raise bad 10's or 9's from early position (draws or pat hands).4.) Is there any reason to raise or call with a J low any place besides on the button or cut off? This of course allows us the opp
  13. Basically i am looking for others opinions. Currently, i play single draw pretty tight to the vest only raising or calling raises with 1 card draws or pat hands. But i can't count the number of times i have raised and watched my caller draw 2 and beat my pat J, 10, or 9 over and over again. are there any 3 card holdings that have enough value to raise or call raises with and draw 2?
  14. Yes it is single draw. I ran decent my first session playing really agressive with pat 10's and 1 card draws, but then my secondn session i came back down to earth pairing every one card draw to a 9 or 8 low.
  15. On the button facing the blinds and you are dealt a pat J, is this an automatic raise everytime?
  16. If you are in position and he draws one, you stay pat, if he stays pat, i think you need to break the 10. If you are out of position, i think you stay pat and keep your fingers crossed
  17. Yeah they changed the rule. You can drop the f bomb as long as it is not directed against another player in a durogatory or insulting manner. Like you can say, man e dog, your play fing sucks, but you cant say, you are a f edog
  18. It really was embarassing. Alot of it was alcohol induced, but when you get Erik Lindgren so upset he hopes the kid wins instead of a friend, you know you have crossed the line. I think Scotty will watch this and be really upset with himself.
  19. I agree we could start talking about this. Watching the video from that series is helpful as well as reading the hand histories from the tourney mastusow won. Position is huggggeee in this game. You can call raises with some speculative hands in position because you get to see how many your opponent is drawing. If he is drawing like a donk to 3, then you can stand pat with any J or better. If he is drawing 2, usually 10 - 9 are good, and if he stands pat or draws one, you can break your hand where necessary. I hate triple draw, but i think no limit would be more interesting with the sing
