Allen Iverson Said It Best - We're Talking About Practice.

My only studying comes from rereading SSHE every few months, and reading 2+2's forums since I'm just a limit specialist.I tried Doyle Brunson's idea of dealing out hand after hand and tracking the results....But I got frustrated cus I kept rivering myself!!! -

Well, I bet out the turn, and figured to make a crying call if I was raised by either villian....Turned out that villian 2 had Jacks and 5, and villain 3 had Aces and 3, and I was 99% certain villain 3 had squadoosh, so my top 2 pair was good. I thought for sure villain 2 had a set or a straight, but I can't really fold in this spot now can I?

Just to clarify a couple things from my OP:This is a 3/6 limit game. The player next to villian 2 didn't exactly say out loud "You're probably good." I just happened to glance at the right time to read his lips as he whispered.

Interesting hand that came up last night in my 3/6 game at the casino:Villian 1 is in EP, a loose player who loves to chase everything and call down with any pair.Villian 2 is in MP, a good player, pretty solid, and has shown mostly quality hands, but does like to play any ace and any suited.Villian 3 on BTN, is a total loose donk who calls down anything when he catches any part of the board hoping everyone is bluffing. We've been at the table for a few hours, and they see me as a solid player showing good hands, even laying down to my occasional well timed bluffs (all 1 of them)Hero is in the

When I play live, (Or at home, for that matter.) I get up and do some quick stretches every couple of laps to try to keep the blood flowing.A good time to do it is when they switch dealers, too---every 30 mins at my B&M.If they have cushions in your casino, by all means use them.At home it's easier: You can still play while standing up, can't you?Unless you got like 25 tables going....Try to sit up straight: I know, nearly impossible for everyone, but try.Take your wallet out of your back pocket (Your sciatic nerve in your lower back will thank you.)Playing with your chips: Can't help ther

Live 3/6 hand. Villian (older, late 50ish guy) has just sat down in BB.2 limpers to hero (LP) with Ac Kh. Hero raises, sb folds, BB calls, limpers call.Flop: Ah Qd As (Sweet.....)Villian looks at flop, looks at his chips, looks at flop, then bets. WTF? Limpers fold, hero raises, villian 3 bets(WTF?!?), hero caps.Turn: 2cVillian bets (commenting "I'm pretty sure my queens are good.") Hero calls.River: 6cVillian bets, hero.....?Could he be slowplaying pocket queens? Ace rag that paired the turn? Trying to make a move?Edit: Sorry about the new topic. I thought I was adding to the LHE Challange th

Deal Me In by Stephen John & Marvin Karlins.Tells the stories of 20 pros like Brunson, Cunningham, Hellmuth, Negreanu, Ferguson, Ivey, etc. How they got started, built a bankroll, how they went broke, lost it (In some cases--repeatedly), and built it up again. At the end of each pros story, they give some advice for us amateurs on how to learn from their mistakes and experiences.Actually a pretty entertaining book overall.Quote from Daniel Negreanu's chapter:"If it wasn't video games, it was wrestling tournaments. I had a mini ring with my "Macho Man" Randy Savage dolls: Hulk Hogan, Ricky S

Live 3/6 hand. Villian is an annoying nit who loves to analyze every hand she plays. Usually badly. We stopped listening to her about an hour ago....Hero is BB w/ 994 limpers to button who raises, all call. 6 players to flop:5 8 9 rainbowAll check to raiser. Raiser bets, hero raises, all fold to nit in mp2 who calls, raiser 3 bets, hero caps, nit calls.Turn: 2Hero bets, nit calls, raiser tanks for 30 seconds and foldsRiver: QHero bets, nit raises! Hero 3 bets, nit caps and shows J 10 for the straight.Did I play it right and get unlucky, or did she play it wrong cold calling the 2 bets on the f

I hope not. I try to follow SSHE as best I can and vary my play according to circumstances of whatever the table is playing. The laggy was showing respect for my coming into pots. He never raised me without a solid hand. (And yes, I even entered with less than premium hands in bad posistion sometimes to try to outflop him, but he always figured I had a hand, going as far as actually saying "If you're in, I'm out.")

I'm playing 3/6 at my B&M Saturday. Typical table--loose, mostly passive, everyone joking around and having fun. I'm playing mostly TAG, partly cus I'm going through periods of card deadness, and partly cus the people are playing ATC.Anyways, I'm up about $150 or so when me and my buddy decide to take an hour and go to lunch. When I come back to the table, all the same players are there, but the player on my left, (young 20 something kid, who had been playing about the same as me, maybe a bit looser) is all of a sudden raising every single hand, sometimes not even looking, capping everythin
