All people are either suit people or non suit people. I am a suit person (when not sitting around in the same torn t shirt and sweatpants I've been wearing since my last shower 3 days ago) but can confirm that having a custom suit done is worth every penny, as long as that penny is valuated in terms of marginally 3rd world buying power. I'd never pay some Italian a ton of money to make a custom fitted suit but I'd happily pay peanuts for some Thai chap to make me one.

I flew to Thailand one time and got custom tailored suits. My main reason for flying to Thailand was the cheap Asian whores but a side benefit was that they would also custom tailor you a suit of clothes. Weird part was, it turned out the higher degree of capital efficiency wasn't the $20 Thailand whores, but the $200 Thailand suits. I could stay here and buy Asian whores cheaper here than I could stay here and buy custom tailored suits.
