This is why I prefer no limit. Cause I can go all in, just like on TV.is when you get very playable hands after long stretch of being card dead. and every time someone else raises the blind so you have to fold once again -
I will go with occams razor on this one. This simple little scenario has generated many pages of thoughtful analyzing. Anyone of which is only correct depending on which cards are coming up. Since ghames arent played in slow motion,I doubt anyone can really consider all options before acting. Back to good old occam. Since I prolly arent best hi, and need 4 cards for low, cya.OK let's walk through one of the hands he played: Stud 8 3 handed he is the bring in with (JJ) 2. A Ks completes and a Qc calls. What do you do there? -
I guess you dont think going all in with any two playing effectivelydid you sit down with only $40, really? If you didn't and you just lost a few bucks off your buy-in, you really should've topped up or left. I would never sit at a table without enough money to play a good hand effectively. -
editwhat proof do you have to support your claim?the US currently spends more than any other country on health care, more than countries with gov health care. -
i love it when posters self own. Of course the us spends more money, they dont ration it, how exactly does what you claim advance your posituion?what proof do you have to support your claim?the US currently spends more than any other country on health care, more than countries with gov health care. -
Im guessing Pickens vision of the movie changed when he read the contents of the survival kit. "Box of chocalates, nylons, one issue prophalactics."Another fun fact, Slim Pickens, the captain of the bomber who rides the bomb to glory.. Kubrick didn't tell him that the movie was a comedy satire.. Pickens thought it was a serious, dramatic movie, and played that rediculous role straight. So brilliant. Sellers was supposed to play that role too, but I guess his southern/texas accent wasn't good enough. -
More trivia,Buck Turgidson is a male studMuffley, the prez name is a wig used to cover pubic hairMandrake, is a root said to encourage fertility. The final warroom scene erupted in a pie throwing contest.

Definitely the best.If you watch closely near the end, the russian ambassador has trouble keeping a straight face while sellers does his strangelove monologue, which by the way was completely ad libbed. A little film trivia. Kubrick tried to get airforce cooperation in the design of the aircraft, but they refused for security reasons. So the story goes that he just winged itand got so close to reality that the defense department ran an investigation into the leak of info.

Cant figure why the ss guy killed the girl at the end, if he was gonna turn traitor also.

Kinda entertaining movie, but with more holes than swiss cheese. My favorite holes are, why would a hovering spacecraft be left untouched for twenty years. If nothing else the humans woulda gutted it for technological reasons, and would the rest of the world really just sit around and allow outer s[pace visitors be mistreated by some 2nd rate nation?

Do you really want that advertised?NiceWell in Ireland our police have batons as their only weapon.... -
I love canada.Back in the late 80's my dad was the chief prosecutor in Calgary (what you Americana's would refer to as the DA). There was a case here (in little ol' Canada).......where this happened with drug store owner Steven Kesler.....After a 3rd robbery attempt in his store over the previous year....."Two masked men entered the drugstore shortly before 3 p.m. on November 8, 1986. One, armed with a gun, went to the back of the store where Kesler's wife Mary (also a pharmacist) was dispensing drugs. The other man, Timothy David Smith, confronted Kesler at the front counter, whereupon Kesler grabbed a shotgun, chased Smith out of the establishment and down the street, and fired a single blast that found its mark. Smith fell to the ground unconscious, still clutching the $115 he had taken. He later died at a local hospital.Kesler returned to the store, where he exchanged gunfire with the second suspect. Neither man was injured during the shootout shootout but when the robber ran to his car in an escape attempt, Kesler followed and began pummeling him with the shotgun. Police soon arrived and carted the battered felon to jail.Kesler was charged with second-degree murder for killing one of the robbers. But he received tremendous public support (more than $35,000 was raised to help pay his legal bills) and was acquitted by a jury. Four hours after the verdict he was back at work in the pharmacy, where a ragged hole made by a shotgun blast adorns a wall to this day. Kesler became nationally renowned and a legend in the area for the past 20 years. "My dad rarely prosecuted cases anymore at this point in his career, but was told to take the case by his superiors due to it's high profile nature. He knew going into it that he was probably going to lose as, despite the fact that the law supported a conviction, public opinion was heavily on Kesler side, and he was acquitted as noted above. It was one of the few cases Dad lost.Obviously not quite the same scenario, as Kesler actually owned the store and had been robbed before - as opposed to the guy in this store just being a bystander/customer. But the same in the sense that he followed the robber out into the street and shot him on a public sidewalk (endangering others?). Personally, my favorite part is when he chased the other guy, that was armed, to his car and beat him with the shotgun. Dude was a badass.Despite the law, people do loves them some vigilante justice. -
Why are 5 year old threads being bumped?http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090820/pl_af..._20090820171704cliff notes:Aides to President Bush pressured then Homeland Security head Tom Ridge to raise the terror level on the eve of the 2004 election.I should be less surprised. -
An unexpected yet welcome post.I love aliens and science fiction, but this movie was just plain silly. Like it was written by an 8th-grader.The social message about discrimination and apartheid was so painfully direct it was annoying. Setting it in South Africa? C'mon. Why didn't the aliens with their head-ripping skills and brutal weaponry just go ape-shit on the humans? Why did they let themselves get stuffed into a ghetto? The aliens understanding English was just dumb. And the Nigerian gang choosing to live amongst them? Huh?Just stupid. -
Im guessing brett favre has the whole state tilted right now.

Ok, in the spirit of previous responses, here goes Playing in a home game with a badass gangster, youve already taken most of his roll when this happens, He flops 4 aces, you river a straight flush, do you say nice hand and fold, or ruin his whole day.Just cause something is +ev doesnt make it the right choice always. Please to be giving me an example of a play that is +ev but is not the "right choice" from a game theory point of view. -
Children almost always get first rate treatment in any system. The questio tho is how good a treatment the elderly get.The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto is one of the best children's hospitals in the World and is also a top research facility. Patients come from all over the World for treatment including the US.There is a famous charity here in Toronto that is called the Herbie Fund which was named after Herbie Quinones, a little seven-month-old baby from Brooklyn N.Y. He was born with a rare birth defect that made it difficult for him to breathe while eating. The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto had developed an innovative procedure that could heal him, but Herbie's family could not afford the flight or surgery. The people of Toronto set up a fund to pay for his care and the fund since then has helped children from 87 countries come to Toronto for care that either isn't available where they are or they couldn't afford including many other American children.Americans really shouldn't be so arrogant as to think that they are the only country with World Class Doctors, facilites or Medical Research. Just because the government is involved in something doesn't mean that it will be bad. -
Like I said. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

You dont need to apologize for anything dude. This is an internet forum, not a think tank. Whatever you want to say, just let it rip. After all the owner of this place isn t exactly mensa material.i did now i loooove that pic!c'mon...i do have my moments!thanks bro!yeah...i was impulsive the other night/or last night...i forget and am too lazy to look a tthe post datei read most of both. i get that Manson didnt personally murder anyone...ive always known that. and i do feel sorry for those who were brainwashed into killing for him, or whatever he meant it to be. I know a lot of people, even today still..in their right minds, are "representing" him and those are the people who need to be stopped.Manson himself, although personally i think he deserved the death penalty but barely escaped it, should remain in prison til death....if he was out then he would have a greater reach among his supporters and obv more murders would follow (one can assume).i know im not very eloquent when typing, especially after 5 beers, but i hope you all appreciate this more than my last posts.hi -
Whats with the 8clubs on board and in hand?

Then please educate me, and Im not being sarcastic.i mean, you just dont know what you're talking about. im really not trying to be rude -
Bingo, could be split pot. So -ev it is not. However I will stop talking for awhile. That is the dumbest example you ever could have come up with. If two people are all in with equal stacks, one of them is going to lose unless it is a split pot, thus it is -EV to the infinity power to call with AA.Horrible example. Why don't you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.

The best system would be to tax ebveryone 100%, then equally distribute the proceeds to all.
