When you ck-thru on the Turn villian should have read that you were suspcious of his call on the flop and were either scared of a made flush or of the 2nd 8 on the Turn so are shutting down b/c you only have a modest hand (likely TP) and are not willing to put much if any more into the pot thus hoping to ck it thru to showdown. This of course open the gates wide open for your #2 above. A made flush or set more likely should recognize the ck-thru on the Turn as weakness and made a more tempting value be of less than 1/2 pot to suck out anther bet from you. Simplify the hand by taking MP2 out of the equation since you were setting him up for a pot steal trap anyway. Without MP2 you would have C-bet vs the BB and would have gotten ck-raised. Going for a full all-in might be too expensive for TT or A-9 to call while a more standard re-raise might keep him in the pot.

He's likely a nit b/c hes multi-tabling and only playing solid hands which may be an over-pair to the board although Jacks or better should have raised preflop so more likely T-9 (s or o) or if he'd overvalue TP, maybe A-T. I would down-grade the flush or str8 draws since he 3-bet your re-raise and most guys on draws just don't do that unless they're hyper-agg maniacs which this guys is not - he's very tight aggressive. Man, I have lost a pretty big chuck of chips making that assumption too often with just TP before I learned to give up a little value and check the river thru. Several thoughts.1. playing at 10% VPIP is playing too tight - you're hands become predicable.2. Aggressive players play more like you seem to expect they "should" while less agg and more passive players are either call stations or are willing to let an Ag do the betting for them (trappers) - to the point that the Ags burn off all their chips given enough rope.. Actually I play more live than online these days so keeping count is just another skill you have to develope (with practice) in order to keep aware. How very true - especially in fast format tournaments where most of the poker is played preflop and on the flop. There just arn't enough chips to play much after the flop unless you get a good sized chip lead without getting pot committed.

Why does it have to be a shove? Can't you steal/play with normal raises or even limp in? You've got 20BB in your stack and while you definatley want to dbl that up you're still not desperate enough for ATC short-stack shove. I don't see an answer that could satisfy your questions on range as so much depends on the BB play and his preception of you. I read/thought hero was UTG w/3185 but now you're saying the villian was the one with 3185 and hero had 35bb (9340). If that is correct then disreguard my first post about pushing preflop b/c at that time I was under the impression hero had only 12bb. The HH is sorta screwed up..

With UTG out of the picture it certainly changes the dynamics of the situation considerably. With 1100 in the pot (300/600 blinds and 200 antes) Btn stands to dbl up putting SB in the shortest stack role and closest to being the bubble boy if he or the BB doesn't call. If SB had the guts to call the CL and Btn with 54o, there's no reason to belive he wouldn't call vs just the Btn with the same hand since he has so much more to lose (3rd place = 1st place) with the CL not there to help eliminate the Btn and he can't count on the BB in either case. What Cops saids plus with a UTG+1's stack being that big he can afford to play a very wide range including connectors - suited or not! I think SB was checking his stack vs the Btn and if both were eleminated by the CL the SB still gets 3rd but if he folds and Btn wins vs CL then he is virtually guarantted 4th and being blinded off. I don't know that I would have called all-in with just 5-4o since I would likely just let the CL have a shot a eliminating the Btn and gifting me 3rd place but at least they were connected and more often than not 'live' with the possibility that the Btn and CL were counterfeit for one of their 2 hole cards. With no reads on opps, big bets and folds in the few hand hero's seen and hero having no table image since he's new to table I'm not thrilled with a pf re-raise for 27% of his stack. Any c-bet gets him pot committed and there are 4 overcards to dodge if he doesn't hit a set (8:1 and no stack was large enough to give the needed implied odds for a 27K raise preflop but CO and MP1 did for 12K [8 x 12k = 96k]).Since MP1 already came in for a 4xbb fp raise the pot was building fast enough for TT and isolating shouldn't have been that big a concern.
