  1. I haven't been to both venues in awhile but just from a player's point of view, Port Perry is the worst run "poker room" near the GTA. If you're paying a session fee, a few of their policies drive you crazy. You have to buy your chips from the dealer, any buy in larger than 200 bucks must be OKed by the floor staff. If you have to rebuy, they have no chip runners or playing behind buttons you must delay the game and rebuy from the dealer.Because you have to buy the chips from the dealer, the table has to be refilled with chips occassionally which eats into your playing time. The floor staff are
  2. Agreed. But what I like about Andy Beal is extensive HU experience. I think it is more of an adjustment for a ring/tourament player to play HU than the transition from very high limits to no limit.
  3. I would love to see Andy Beal play in the tournament.
  4. I live downtown and I know of only one club in the area.
  5. What did the other players do while this hand was unfolding, they should have pressured the angler, the dealer and the floor manager into awarding you the pot. You were the unfortunate victim this time, but it could have been anybody else sitting at the table, so it's in their own interest to stop this kind of crap.As for revenge, I wouldn't tip the angler or the dealer who pushed the pot to the angler.
  6. OK thanks. Is there any way to tell if your opponent is using Poker tracker?
  7. Which poker sites can detect the presence of Poker tracker? What happens if you are caught using poker tracker on their sites?
  8. About 2 years ago at a 20/40 limit game at a BM casino. A royal flush beat quad kings and a tight Aces over Kings. One player had KK, the other AA. The royal came on the turn, and the others made a set, the 3 way betting was capped. The river was a King. The Aces tight laid down his hand without calling a bet while the quads and royal flush capped the betting. There was no bad beat jackpot at this casino. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I would've been hard pressed to believe it could happen in a live game.
  9. I was playing multiple tables and just caught the aftermath, but it was funny to see Scott being lectured on his "mistake" by not just one, but 2 or 3 other players . I missed the hand otherwise I would have supported Scott, but in hindsight, I'm glad I didn't join the debate, if they ever have pockets aces against me, I'll be glad they checked the river.

You probably showed up on a Friday night. Usually the wait isn't too long. On weekends, if you show up at 11:30 am, before the buses start rolling in, you'll get a seat or you'll have a short wait before they open a new table.
  11. On a call in show earlier this year--Daniel mentioned that he did wager on sporting events when he was younger . He claimed to be successful but the research took too much of his time.
  12. I use to play on Stars and I saw people hit their only out in the entire deck too many times for my liking.
  13. There's a new pokertracker bot that YOu can bring to live games. It's modeled after the head of Phil Ivey (but smaller) and You just use it as a card protector.I know that pokertracker is an online poker tool and not applicable to live games, I was being diplomatic. The discussion was about record keeping for HOME GAMES AND CASINOS, so when econ_tim made his remark about pokertracker, I didn't want to berate/belittle him for missing this salient point. I tried to make this point by asking if pokertracker was applicable to home games--letting him make the discovery by himself. I didn't want to
