Iv thought it was good to bet on a draw if you have good odds so it confuses other players as to what you have.

ok say i was playing that for real moneyare the bets i made correct or should they be bigger/smaller?

thanks what i ment by that was say im holding 10 / J (say the pot is about $50 and 5 players (i dont play for real money))and the flop comes A / 9 / Q So iv got an open ended straight drawsay i bet about $20 2 fold, 1 callspot is $90turn 8 excelent, iv hit my straighti bet $65 1 callpot is $220river card 3 ok theres a flush there but surely he wouldnt have kept calling me and praying on the low odds that he willl hit it ?i bet $100he raises to $200i call (going with what i thort about him not calling on such low odds)pot is $620i loose to somone with 2 / 4 that just pisses me off

Vague question to a Vague answer.... whats PSB?

I need some help with raise sizeing, its always somthing i seem to get wrong...When i do have a strong hand i tend to raise either not enough so everyone calls and i either loose to a lucky play who gets a flush on the river or somthing or i bet too high and no one calls where i had the potential to win alot. And when i have somthing like pocket aces i tend not to raise high enough so everyone calls and then some lucky ammateur wins with somthing stupid like 2 pair, 2s and 7s. Which annoys me. I think one of the reasons i loose alot is because theres too many people playing. So if anyone got g

hey just a quick question here about implied odds...I know how they work with outs to work out wether making a bet is worth it in the long run for a hand.for example i tend to use it when i have a straight or flush draw...But what when you already have a hand thats not the nuts?say i have 9 / 9 and the flop K / 10 / 9 Well here you have a decent hand but somone holding a pair of kings or 10s will beat you, and the turn and river mite even give somone a flush....but you dont know that yet...so you shouldnt place bets too strong because you may not have the best hand...but sure

hey just a quick updated, and i wanna thank you again for suggesting the book, its deffinalty a good read and i recomend it to any new players, im now 1/3 of the way through it and been practiceing on free games inbetween reading it, and since i started reading it iv never came out of a game room with less than i went in :Dso i recomend the read the anyone whos struggleing or wants to know more about the maths and theory beind it Thanks againStu

thanks for the advice, greatly appreciated im still reading that book too which is helping me out alot because its making me look at poker from a different angle, and by doing that im learning alot more about the things that do matter in poker that new players (like myself) tend not to even think about.ThanksStu

ok iv got another confession to make.......im 16 :Sso although normally id deffinatly take your advice with that, at the moment, i cant.so thanks for the advice and when im 18 ill deffinatly start doing it but untill then all i can do is play for free so ill get as much experiance with that as i can untill then :)thanksstu

Iv got a confession to makei dont have much money so i downloaded the book you suggested...but putting that asideiv read the first few chapteres and its deffinatly a great book if you understand the maths involved, i found it quite hard to get my head around some of the things, but it makes scence and iv learned alot from the amount iv read so far. i went back on a free game for the last couple of hours and where i normall would have lost 2000-4000 points, iv gained, 1000!!!! its not alot but its a deffinate inprovement on how iv been doing beforehand. Also i never lost more than about 150-200

Heyim new here and a new poker playeri just need some tips. I play the free games online which i think is harder because people arnt bothered about risking their chips, but i just keep loosing all the time, iv read up alot hands i should play and where to play them and stuff, but i just never seem to get a good hand, its always thing like K5o which i dont like to play but tend to do it anyway, or thing like 57o which i never player, i very rarely get very good hand, and when i do, somone always mannages to beet me :(I think the problem is that i know when to fold, but i do it too often, the am
