  1. 300BB's has worked for me from 3-6 right up through 20-40. But I play in the "juiciest game on the east coast" apparently according to most people I know (the $20-$40 LHE game @ Foxwoods).Agree with Zach, 500-1000 is insane. I think I read somewhere that if you win 1/2 of a BB per hour with 300 BB's you have like a 95% chance of not going broke or something like that.
  2. Played the $500 HOSE prelim event @ Foxwoods yesterday. Actually had a pretty good table draw with only one kid I knew from the 20-40 mixed games. Start with 6k in chips, levels are 25-50 (5 ante for stud games) and 50 minute levels. In the first level I'm up to 8k as people had some trouble with the stud games (obv) and I made a nut-nut hand in O8 with 4 players in. Then the fun starts...1st debacle... 3. The assumption here is that both you and the BB have chips left. If so, then yes, your hand is dead. You can't show your cards to an opponent like that, collaboration against the player who's all in. You're not heads up in this case.
  4. Couldn't have said it better. Helmuth will cash more often, but Ivey will win more often if he ever gets motivated.

And yes, AcAx and KcKx do call us there, as well as any set or straight, heck even two pair sometimes.
  6. Again, maybe because I'm a live player, but the only time I'm folding KQ suited UTG is in a higher limit LHE game. In NL I'm raising with it everytime, really see nothing wrong with that line.
  7. THIS ISN'T A TOURNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We aren't worrying about protecting a stack with this hand, I'm trying to stack off the villian.I want to build a big pot on the turn and get my money in and make him pay if he is drawing. I'm not shoving praying for a fold, I'm shoving praying for a call because, AGAIN, 77 is the only hand I'm actually worried about on the turn.
  8. Gonna throw some cash onto my stars account that I haven't used in a while. Anyone know if there's a reload bonus going on?
  9. Regarding the AQ comment I made. If I'm the villian in position on the turn and it's checked to me, I might definitely take a stab at this pot thinking that maybe my Q's are good here and the flop bet was 10's, J's, 9's, and the the hero is afraid of the overs. Obviously if I'm raised I'm out, but just a call still gives me info. As the villian the river is the best card for me to bluff at, even if I don't have AQ because now I definitely get overly tight players to fold out hands like KQ. It's being aggressive from position, which is what I believe the game is all about. Again, I don't m
  10. Any smaller two pair (I mean come on, it's 10/25. you can't tell me Q7 suited is out of the realm of possibility here in late position), AQ (I would definitely try to steal with AQ after someone checked to me thinking he's scared of the K, hell might ev en consider it a value bet), Kd7d, KdXd, AdJd, hell 8d9d even. I know FCP-ers don't like to take what the limits are into consideration, but $4-$8 LHE is nothing like $40-$80 LHE. Sometimes you have to. I know that if I have a hand like Kd10d or KdJd I might raise there in any level NL. In my opinion, 77 is the only hand I see you truly beh
  11. What? Are you serious? Bet/Fold? Seriously, are people more enthralled with trying to make superstar, made for TV folds than getting value? These friggin forums are ripe with people trying to find reasons to fold top 2, sets, etc. This isn't a tourney hand where conserving chips is a premium, it's a cash game where you want to maximize the value of every hand you play. If you really can't get a stack in with top 2 on this dry a board, No Limit cash games aren't for you.I've been playing mid to mid-high limit poker for a while now and there's not a single poker pro I know (and I know more
  12. If the thought of folding crosses your mind for more than 1 second please come to Foxwoods and play $20=$40 LHE with a 6' kinda chunky guy with glasses and blonde highlights. We got a great game for you.
  13. No chance to fold either of them, too many other hands you beat. Fold either of those and you're setting yourself up to make some horrible folds in the future. No Limit is a game where sometimes you're gonna loose your stack, so accept it or move to Limit.Of course I'm a Limit reg so take it with a grain of salt... :)Oh, and WELCOME!
  14. Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Bet, Value Betoh and Value Bet
  15. Why in God's name wouldn't you bet this flop? You get bets in from any Q, any other pair, any draw, hell even A high will call you there sometimes. Yea, you might get check raised, but more times then not your opponent will have a Q or any other pair trying to find out where he is. You def cost yourself value by checking here, the amount of times your opponents have a jack don't outweigh the times they don't. In a game like LHE where you grind out a BB or 2 per hour, you can't afford to miss value.
  16. I love the line. That board hits 10,000 hands and only two have you beat.Shovel it, no question at all. If he wakes up with K9 so be it.
  17. Pokerstars is definitely the best site of them all to withdraw from. Every time I withdraw an amount I get my check within 5 days.
  18. Is it just me or are people actually trying to find reasons to make hero folds rather than make money? There are like 9 billion hands you beat and a half dozen you don't, if you're worried about boat over boat No Limit games really aren't for you!
  19. Just my two cents, but I'm ramming and jamming the flop and turn and def seeing the river. But I'm a cash game guy...
  20. Maybe its just me, but if I loose a stack with boat over boat, I just chalk it up to a cooler and head to the bad beats forum...
  21. I've actually had the experience of folding A's preflop only once. It was an Act III satellite to the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic $10k Main Event. We're down to 15, top 12 get seats. I'm second chip leader in the tourney. The chip leader raises UTG, 2 shorter stacks (prob about 50% of my chips) shove, the third chip leader (who has about 80% of my chips) shoves over the top. I'm on the button with A's. While I'm thinking, UTG is already asking how much and counting out his chips. I really tank it and end up folding. UTG insta calls.UTG - K'sSS1 - 7'sSS2 - 10cJcCO - J'sCase J hits the tu
  22. Actually 2/5 @ foxwoods is where I took this...http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...howtopic=132806
  23. 30 hour a week Foxwoods player here. Play mainly $10/$20 limit, but started my roll @ the NL tables. The play @ Mohegan is much softer than Foxwoods. This is especially apparent @ the $2/$5 tables. The 2/5 action @ Foxwoods is very comparable to the 1/2 action. As in you raise to $25 UTG and you very well might get 7 callers. @ MS I distinctly remember raising to $20 and getting several walks. If you're an action player, go to Foxwoods, if you catch a run of cards you can very possibly run up several grand in the 2/5 game.Buy in for 2/5 @ Foxwoods is $200-$500@ MS its $100-$500
