  1. I guess on the other side of the coin, if you love tourneys and aren't a huge fan of playing limit poker, but do have a good knowledge of how to play tghe game, you could use limit poker as your buy in machine, and just use anything above 300xBB as your tourney buy in.
  2. Don't mind me. Just making obvious comments. "I know you got a hand, I just don't know if it's better than mine."
  3. Thanks. ANother bankroll question. Does bankroll management also extend to your buy in? I've done everything from having all 300xBB in a session, to 50xBB. And if you play multiple tables is this not unlike buying in of one game for a huge amount for those limits?
  4. With a great hand you want to raise pot preflop, it just sounds like they're not playing the board properly though.
  5. And what would a tourney bankroll look like? x amount of buy ins?I want to master my limit game, and it disgusts me to use hard earned BBs to enter tournaments which I may lose. So I'd like to use 2 bankrolls. Tourneys for one, ring games for the other. So does anyone do this, and again, if I'm playing 5.50 tourneys for example, what would be a good tourney bankroll?
  6. Smash, at what point do you suggest dropping levels? I plan on depositing $150 and playing the .25/.50 game for awhile, which puts my bankroll at 300xBB. B ut what if my 1st session is a losing one? I don't automatically drop a limit do I?
  7. Why the hell would you play Phil when there are so many fish.My story didn't end with "i felt so bad that I sat at tthe table with the poor guy". I agree.
  8. Poor Phil. I logged on FullTilt late evening one time and saw him sitting by himself at the highest stakes table. Looked again about 2 hours later, and he's still sitting there with nobody to play with.
  9. I'm afraid I may have wasted mine. If I just held out for like 500 more I coulda got a Sklansky book, instead I settle for a book by a guy whose name I can't even remember (should be fantastic, arrrgh). Although it's been a few weeks now, guess they weren't kidding about that 4-6 weeks thing.
  10. 1st one I ever played I was happy to see AA as my starting hand. The guy before me had went all in so I called. Then I almost fell out of my chair when the entire table called. When the cards were flipped I was a little dismayed that the guy across from me also had AA, and 55 hit a 5 and had the huge chip lead. Yes I want AA. Not sure if I want 9 callers though.ANother one I played, the tables wasn't as maniacal, still people going all in preflop with questionable hands. This one I ended up cashing in without rebuying once. Later I started to think that I probably lost an opportunity to have m
  11. I respect Raymer. As a matter of fact my long term goal would probably be to be like him even prior to his WSOP win. Good limit player making decent money at the casinos.
  12. When I 1st started watching poker I thought it was tacky and disrespectful. After playing the game for awhile, and knowing you can spend hours folding hand after hand, it doesn't sound so bad anymore.
  13. Phillips is looking dapper these days, but he looked horrible at one of the WSOP 2004 events I saw on TV yesterday. Horrible baggy button up blue shirt, and a stupid b grade LL cool J hat. Dressed much nicer on one of the WPT events.
  14. (posted this in another forum, got 0 replies)What's the average chipstack like at the 1st break? In a low limit rebuy tourney aka the all in orgie, how would your chip stack look if you did this? Sit out until about 3 minutes before 1st break. Now, you're looking to go all in with something to either double up, or get to 0, so you can have the original starting stack before blinds got you. If you do drop to 0, rebuy, post a blind so you'll be eligible for the 1st add on, and then at the break add the 2nd add on. Now that rebuys are no longer allowed, play as normal. So where would your chip st
