  1. The villain folded aces up here? Holy super tight ass batman. How the hell could he put you on a 5??
  2. Okay so the only part I really butchered was pre-flop, and I might have been able to find a raise on the turn. Frez, to answer your question.. with 3 opponents I wanted to make sure the river was safe...even though half the deck was a scare card for me...I was feeling like UTG had an overpair, and it wasn't likely that it was sevens or eights. Bleh, this is such a horrible board with so many opponents when I'm only holding 1 pair. I really just wanted to get to showdown cheaply.
  3. Haha ya know what...I was so pissed I didn't even see that he also had AJ. Okay now I feel better.
  4. 5. Since neither villain showed much strength throughout the hand, I would bet to make sure it doesn't get check through. I probably make it about $45 with the second nuts...your hand is super-duper disguised too, so I'm sure you would get called pretty light, maybe even raised.
  6. After the UTG raise, I did consider 3-betting this, but I had the raiser on 13% / 7% over 640 hands, so I did give him credit for a big hand here. This was probably a mistake to just flat call since I had position, but that's not why I posted this hand. After a bet and a raise on the flop, is the 3-bet standard for most everyone? To be honest, I had a sinking feeling I was up against a straight and didn't see much value in raising the turn. On the river, is this a raise with top set? I'm pretty sure it is. F*ck I butchered this hand. Feel free to destroy me. PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)
  7. First hand...the button is the chip leader, and he raised on the button. His raising range is HUGE in this spot. If you have a mid-range or short stack, this is an insta-shove with 99. Yes, one of them probably has a strong hand...more likely the button though. People will limp with anything. Shove and put the villain on a tough decision. 2nd hand...same situation. Just because someone raised you can't assume he has a monster. There are so many more factors involved like position, image, stack sizes, etc.
  8. In the first hand, you've all played it so weak, it's hard to tell what the SB has. But I don't see him betting in first position into 2 players with a hand that you beat. A strong queen would have probably raised pre flop...maybe he has a weak top pair / 2 pair or a set of 3s or 7s. Either way, I don't think it's worth the 300 to find out...pick a better spot. Good fold. On the second hand, I think you made a mistake with the flop raise. You consider him stationy...so raise the flop to about 150 instead and see what he does. If he raises (as he did), you can likely infer that you are behind.
  9. Does this not feel like a J trying to push out the obvious straight draw to anyone else? "Oh, I have J8 suited. I'll call a small raise. Oh, I flopped trips. I check-call to slow play it. Oh crap, the straight card came. I better bet the pot to take it down right now so he doesn't suck out on me". I would be pissed, but I would fold here.
  10. I love this play. But not in a gay way. This can give you a free card or you can win the pot right away. Just beware of the CO. If he folds, you have position and the lead with a decent drawing hand. I usually semi-bluff like this with a little bit of a stronger holding, like top pair and an OESD, but this is still okay IMO.
  11. 1 - I was pretty sure I would end up out of position, and may have to call one more bet to see a flop. But with small pairs I'm fine with being OOP because it is very easy to evaluate their strength on the flop: you either hit your set or you don't. 2 - AJ, AT, QJ, etc. are all hands that are raised from MP at these stakes. I see it countless times.
  12. For those of you who still care, the villain showed down TT. His turn donk confused the hell out of me. 95% of the time when I 3-bet people in position, I get checked to on the next street...so I was positive the ace helped him...but I really wanted to see his hand so I called.
  13. Don't count on any replies on here about this topic....this is like asking "hey, do any of you break the law, and if you do, where can I join you?"
  14. Okay, so I guess it comes down to a read of how competent you think the villain is. Is he dumb enough to call a raise with something we beat (playing the board), or something we tie (an ace), hoping at best for a tie?
  15. I'm not saying we won't win the hand. I'm saying there is no point in raising because the only time we get called is when we are tied or beat. And if we are beat, we will have to call a re-raise, losing us more money.
  16. I agree, this is a lower PP often, but not nearly enough to make continuing with the hand profitable. Besides, even if it is a lower PP, we are still way behind, having only 6 outs max with 2 cards to come.
  17. I think this is a very close decision obviously.Having said that, I don't think there is much room for much more than a minimum raise here. Okay think about it this way (considering you are never folding):1. You call, he shows an A, you split.2. You call, he shows a 4, you lose. 3. You call, he plays the board, you win. 4. You raise, he calls, shows an A, you split.5. You raise, he calls, playing the board, you win.6. You raise, he re-raises, you call, he shows a 4, you lose. Why push a marginal edge at best, when a split or a loss is a likely outcome (4 out of 6 outcomes)? Just call.
  18. He check-raised you and then called your re-raise. I shut down on the turn, given this boring board. What else can he have other than a J or QQ, KK, AA? The only hand you might be able to push him off is QQ, IMO. I fold.
  19. Your call pre in the BB is a little bit spewy, but I don't mind it with JTs. This hand plays well in multi way pots. I would cap the flop..you have a huge hand, and on the flop you have a huge pot equity edge. You're putting in about 33% of the money and will probably win with this hand more than 50% of the time. Raisy daisy! As played, bet the river. You don't want to take a chance it gets checked through.
  20. I raise this turn every time. I like your play, but I would bet on the river. You have the 4th nuts here, and if someone had a set of kings or queens, you would have been made aware of that on the turn...and if someone has J-T, I'm pretty sure you would have seen a bet on the river.
  21. Hell yes I peel this flop, all day long...Half the deck gives you a draw to the nut flush, and about a third of the deck gives you a nut low draw. So...any diamond (10), any heart (10) for the nut high draw, any 3 (2), 4 (2), 5 (2), 6 (2), or 7(2) for the nut low draw. That's 30 out of 45 cards to come. As played, I take a free card on the turn.
  22. First of all, is the buy-in capped at 600? Because if it is, then even buying in for the max amount would leave you severely under-rolled for this game...60 big blinds in a no-limit game? That's blasphemy! Anyways, this is probably the most common complaint that new players make..."how can I win if no one ever folds?" All I can say is keep on playing aggressive and make them pay to draw out on you, and pay the wrong price for those draws. In the long run you will be a winner. Another thing to consider is the fact that you have been playing this game for a while now...so it's very possible that
  23. No free card for villain. Hero bet $35, pricing out flush and straight draws. If villain calls, I bet any non 8/7, non diamond river. I would still bet if a Q or J came on the river (possibly pairing him if he had a straight draw), because given our line he can reasonably put us on a ten, and a Q or J may have improved us. But that's more read-dependent. If he raises, I would fold.
  24. Holy sh*t dude, 7 tabling with 3 SNGs? You are an animal. How can you even get up to pee??? I play 2 cash tables and 1 tourney. Max.
