  7. i don't post much but this is kinda funny In addition to the litany of pro forma remarks that Effel makes before the start of each tournament, Effel announced a promotion sponsored by Jack Link's Beef Jerky that will run during the Main Event. Every time a player gets four-of-a-kind jacks, that player will win a Jack Link's prize pack valued at $100.Like 6 pages later... 8. like a week ago i started playing outside of my bankroll because i don't really mind going broke and putting some more money and start over. I also went from sit and gos and mtts to cash games, and from PS to Fulltilt. So i'm 4tabling .10/.25 NL holdem, and wow cash games are tough, i've made money but not nearly as much as i hoped and i knew there was some variance but i wasn't expecting that much. So i'm starting to think that doing this wasn't a good idea that maybe i should get rakeback and find easier games.I made my account in fulltilt a long time ago before i even knew what rakeback was,

  10. i hate people that do that, but a lot of times i've started thinking if i should call his shove with a marginal hand because of pot odds and then see he still has chips left.thank god i've never misclicked but i guess the strategy does make sense considering that.
  11. Well it took me a while but i folded, i had the feeling that the guy who limped in had like a middle pair, i see that a lot people limping in with 77, they see a lot of chips going into the pot and decide they have to go all in. I was worried about the raiser he made it 4x and then instantly moved all in so i had to put him on kings or aces. There was a chance the first guy had AA as well, but i didn't think so, if the raiser had folded i would have probably called.I was soo pissed when the first guy showed 88 and the raiser had A4!Then i saw no more good hands or nice flops for a long time a

  13. yeah i think people that have no clue and want to go pro are funny, i'm not one of them, i know that you don't choose to go pro it just happens...Probably shouldn't have said the word pro so much, i probably should have said full time instead. Oh well, thanks to everyone who gave nice advice, i've been trying to study a lot more lately, today final exam, monday first day of my little experiment, hopefully i'll do well
  14. i'm calling it """pro""" cause i want to play full time, i wanted advice on that... that's all
  15. yeah i know i'm not a pro i've said do from the beggining, i just said i wanted to play full time like pros do cause i have nothing else to do...
  16. Thanks for all the answers, they've help me realize that playing whenever i feel like it is a lot different than 6 hours a day.I don't know what my hourly rate is, i've never played consistently cash games before, i play them once in a while but i'm sure i've won money.I really aprecciate your comments and thinking about them i have decided how i will do it.I'm gonna start by working out every morning, that has always been part of the plan and i think it's very important to keep me thinking well, then i'll start a 2 hour session and depending how i feel i can make it last for a miximum of 5 ho
  17. yeah you all got me wrong, i play like 2 hours a day when i have time, and i'm a decent player, not enough for pro but i know what i'm doingNext December I won't have anything to do for 3 months so i'll play poker full time to giv it a tryI'm playing .1/,25 i know it's not much but making 20 dollars a day is a loot better than any other summer jobs i could get here in chile (and a lot more fun), and i'm pretty sure i can make more than that. The main reason i'm asking is cause i need to know if i have to make any adjustments from playing whenever i have time to 6 hours a day.
  18. yeah you're right, let me ask again. If any of you play full time, how do you do it?thanks
  19. Hi i'm looking for adviceI decided to work this summer as a poker player, i'm a student i live with my parents, so it's like going pro but without the pressure of having to win money.Plus my dad is opening this coffee house so i'll play there and maybe help with the bussiness for some tips to get my head off the game if i want to.So lots of freedom and hopefully it will be a nice experience, these are the doubts i have. Are cash games the best option?NLHE is probably my best game, should i stay there? How many hours a day? i was thinking like 6-8Do i need a schedule, or just play whenever i feel

  23. Well it took me a while but in the end i called, i just thought oh well chip EV i can't fold this, glad i made the right decision acording to you.I called and the turn brought the A of spades so my 500 left went right in, first guy thinks a little, calls and a fold. He shows QJ spades he's behind with a flush draw too, and the first guy had KK, what a weird call from that guy i'm raising KK there preflop 100% of the time.A spade hit the river and ouch, but i ended up cashing the tournament anyway, short stack ninja!
