  1. It's not like him entering meant that someone who wanted to play, couldn't. It is his money, he can choose to spend it any way he wishes. I dream of owning an expensive car. I will treat it well if I ever get it, if I see someone worth billions buy one and not treat it well (ride i hard etcetc.), do I have a right to be upset? How about if someone in poverty sees someone playing blackjack for $5 a hand, when that is a meal to them. Should they be upset that people are "wasting" that money? While there may be ethical issues raised with playing under a false persona, there is nothing wrong with him "wasting" his money like that.
agreed. ps- <3 phil laak, antonio, I bet you, and jeniffer tilly's beautiful breasts.
  2. With all this buzz surrounding the new idea regarding the WSOP main event final table being televised in November, it got me thinking about the first couple of times that i watched poker on TV. Moreover, I'm not so sure if this has been done before but I thought it would be cool idea to see what the first televised event that everyone watched was, what your initial opinion was, and how that changed your outlook on poker. There are three occasions that come to mind when i think about the first time i watched poker on TV. Granted that I'm only just about to turn 19, the first time i watched poker was fairly recent..maybe about 3-5 years ago. The first occasion would be probably the most common one, Moneymaker winning the ME in 2003. I just remember seeing brief scenes of HU play between sammy and chris and thinking how ridiculous it was that there was so much money at stake. I also thought it was incredibly boring. That is however, until i watched a WPT event that Carlos Mortenson won, and it almost feels like from that point on i was hooked on watching poker on TV, and everything relating to poker. Watching David Pham hit running Q's to win a big hand in a WPT event is also something which I vaguely remember and can't gather enough memory to remember exactly which event it was (might've been the same one that Carlos won?). Soo..my question is..what was your first televised poker experience? (in more than one word..don't gimme answers like.."WSOP 2003" :club: )

  3. 1.) Exactly, which is why you shouldn't be raising with 79s from UTG+12.) You should have worded it differently.3.) Confidence (or I think this is more of cockiness) is -EV in tournies. Pessimism is also -EV, but being cocky and thinking this hand will lead you the to glory land will more than likely end in sadness4.) Yes, I am.
1.) It's my style of play early on in tournaments when I've been running the table over since i first sat down.2.) What's wrong with how i worded it..I said (very early..but still).3.) Being confident is a big part of my game. I find that when I'm feeling confident in the way that I'm playing, i tend to play much better. Moreover, nowhere in my post did i claim that this hand was going to lead me to glory. I simply claimed that at that point in time in the tournament, it was one of the bigger pots that would have catapulted me to the top 5 in chips early on in the tournament.4.) Maybe i can help.As for the beat..if you take into account how baddddddddddd this guy played the hand, that is what makes it one of the worst beats I've taken..not percentage-wise (I know it was only a two outer on the river).
  4. Lol.. "This was for 1st/2nd place in the tourney"Blinds and 25/50? Someone is a bit confident.Edit: It's the daily 20k.. You had to outlast another 3k players, yeah.. a 19k stack that early will definetely seal the deal for you.
ok firstly..i said it was very early in the tournament (about 2.3k players left). Secondly, i never said that if i won the hand i was going to win the tournament. Thirdly, whats wrong with being confident?. Lastly..are you sexually frustrated?

how about the poor canadian souls that do not have the luxury of espn without the use of a special device?
  7. Quad Aces are Good, Right? ... RIGHT?Motoyuki "Moto" Mabuchi raises to 850 in middle position and the button calls. The flop is {A-?}{Q-Diamonds}{9-?} and both check. The turn is {10-Diamonds} and Moto bets 1,600. The button calls. The river is {A-Diamonds} and Moto bets 2,500. The button raises to 8,500 and Moto re-raises all in.The button calls. Moto shows {A-?}{A-?} for quad aces, but the button has {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the royal flush. Moto is eliminated in stunning fashion.OUCH!
i just threw up in my mouth a little. Someone should put that man on suicide watch imo.
