  1. 1) Nations are not humans, and assigning human qualities to them is silly.2) There are still racists in this country, but they are extremely marginalized.3) Racism can no longer be used an excuse for not achieving success, since the top position is now filled by someone from the race that is most frequently discriminated against.
    1) South Africa in the 1980s etc etc?2) extremely marginalized? have you ever left the country?3) this is like anecdotal evidence vs. empirical evidence. Just because ONE person "can" or "has" done it, doesn't make it any easier for anyone else.
  2. LOL I almost went out on Tuesday to go take pictures and watch the cops beat people. I think based on those pictures I'm pretty glad I didn't go. That scene is less than a mile from my apt in Brooklyn.Despite being a hardcore lefty pinko liberal commie, I kind of hate everybody in every one of those pictures.EDIT: Somebody in the comments on that link summed it up well: "My hatred of these Williamsburg douchebags is rivaled only by my love of President Obama. Hmm... that feels good to type. President Obama."
it's ok.. those people are hipsters... I had a laugh at the dude holding up his fixed gear in celebration...
  3. did you even read the posts you responded to?
real cute, did you bother to check the link? the point is - most republicans (at least in this thread) seem to think Obama is some rabid socialist, while a lot of democrats seem to think he is some sort of saviour from the left. He is neither - in fact his ideological stance is more in line with Third Way politics then traditional social democracy.
  4. No because America is not a racist nation so your original premise is faulty. Are there racists who live in America? Yes of course.
    I was refering to
And if I hear anyone ever again race bait and say that we are a racist nation I'm gonna kick them in the teeth.
Whether or not America is a still a racist nation is an entirely different debate... anyway BigDMcgee said it best so i'll quote
FYP. Though election turn outs where higher than normal, Still, only a fraction of eligible voters voted. While the election of a black president is certainly progress, I'm sure it also will be more fuel to the angry white male's claim that racism is a non issue in america anymore.
  5. I haven't played all that much online since early June or so due to WSOP and having to work a ton when I got back. So unless the game has changed dramatically in the last 2 months, TJ I just think it's a trend. While I play "less" nitty that I used to, I still get 3 bet WAY TOO MUCH considering how tight I am. I think as your online reputation increases, people will want to play back at you a ton. The resteal 3 bet has become a weapon even the most retarded people have in their arsenal.Case in point. Playing teh Sunday Million last week, I get 66 on button and 2.5x raise. SB...who is on Monkey Tilt from some semi bad beats, but worse play tbh ships in a total of 10 bb's. Big blind folds and I snap call and she shows 8c6c. Well obv she wins the hand and I "lol...tilt much" in chat...she goes..."What? That's a STANDARD RESTEAL...and who snap calls 66?"So even people who improperly understand the concept of the resteal still try and use it in their game. Also...playing on another persons acct. is cheating imho.
you made a standard raise on the button... perfect oppurtunity for a resteal imo
  6. Source? So what would you do with insurgent/Taliban/Al Qaeda POW's?I agree with everything you said....but what citizens, whose rights are enumerated in the Constitution, have been trampled underfoot?I can show you where in the Bill of Rights it says US citizens are excluded.WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES
That says the people of the united states... not citizens. Being a citizen allows you certain civil rights, but all natural/human rights covered in the constitution apply to the people of the united states.
  7. BBFIDTS
if i posted the turn and river it would really seem like a BBFIDTS post (it ran out Qc Kc). besides, is it really a bad beat if i get my money in bad?for anyone who cares, CO had AK, but given the same scenario I think I play the hand exactly the same every time, and that's pretty much the point of the thread. AKA, is this ever a fold (on the flop)? and I still think it isn't...
