I know you guys in the forum want to ignore this....i dont blame you....but honestly this guy needs to shut up.....why make such a post. I dont want to turn this into a relgious discussion.....but that is just uncalled for. your making fun of a death pope (one of the better ones) and a girl who was brain dead for 15 years. I think your the one who should be in hell....In the NBA Ill take the Spurs over the Heat in 6

I know this is dumb.....but its been bothering me for awhile......who won the US Poker Championship.....for some reason i can never catch the final table.....all i know is that D'Agustino didnt win which is surprising with his stack....anyway if anyone can tell me who won and give me a quick summary of what happened that would be great....Thanks

Mike has been a pretty hot topic in this forum for the last few weeks....Before I say this Id like to say that I dont like Matusow the Poker Player, but that doesnt give us the right to judge Matusow the Person At the Poker Table he is annoying....I hate him.....hes like Phil Hellmuth's little brother without the humor. He says hes top 5 in No Limit in the World.....PErsonally hes not even in my Top 10....but he still has game. In the Hand with Raymer he was a Dick.....but it came back to haunt him later when Raymer doubled throguh him and then he lost with the AK. Both those times he played t

I guess everyone has already mentioned what it takes to be a good dealer. The best place for dealers (the have been too anyway) is the Borgata. Never have I had a dealer that was mean, unfriendly, or most importantly incompetant. They are really cool people. They will only talk to you if you talk to them and it results in a good convo usually about last lasts bad beat. They are also really professional aswell. Last night this guy at my table was about 60 Jack and Cokes deep. He told us that he lives at the Borgata and has thousands of all dollars in his room safe.....blah.....blah....anyway we

Last night I was at the Borgata playing in 1/2 No Limit Hold Em. The game was going good for me. I sat down with about $240 in front of me and after half and hour of playing I was another $100. The following Hand comes upIm in mid position and i get QQ. I raise to $12 which looked to be the stanard raise at the table. The other kid re raises me $20 more. I call. The flop comes 8 7 J. There are about three people in the pot. The re raiser checks and I decide to bet $40 just to see if i can take it down right there. Other guy folds.....the other guy goes all in for 40 more. Eariler on i obersved

Watching on TV.....hes great......very funnyIf I was sitting across from the table from him I would be annoyed, but you just have to block it out.....Also hes not the most annoying player in poker......you ever see Tony G from WPT Paris Season 1......now theres a guy that needs a good beating......When playing against players like that you just have to block them out and focus on your game.....easier said than done thats for sure

I really don't want to sound like a jerk here, but it's probably going to kind of sound that way. If you feel bad about getting lucky and taking that money off your friends, you don't have to worry. As long as you keep playing like that, you will lose your money back to them in no time, with interest. No Offense taken my freind.....looking back at it, it was a bad call. But from the time that he took so long to call i really thought he had Ace King.....I made the call cause thats what i thought and I would still have decent chips to play with if i lost. I followed my first instinct which is w

I know this is going to sound like a dumb post, but I wanted to know if any of you guys have had nights like these.....Last night i was playing in my weekly NL Hold em .25/,50 blinds. I bought in for $20 it was werid I was losing with hands like AK QQ and anything else good but i was winning with like stupid hands like K7 Q7 89.....oh well Ill take itAbout 2 hours into the game I have about $16 in front of me. The pot was raised $2 to me.....I look down at 99 and I move all in for another $14. I get called by two people.....im praying like like AK AQ or 88. Both players flip thier cards over.

headaches that kill your poker game at the table
Chez52 replied to Drum Infected's topic in General Poker Forum
I usually get headaches when I think too hard. Everyone in this form has great advice. For me I just take a few advil or tynenol before i play (lik an hour) and usually that works. Just try to relax like everyone says there is such a thing as thinking too hard. And your right it really can mess up your game -
Hey GuysRecently I started picking up 7 Card Stud (Not H/L) Ive been playing online with it just messing around. I was wondering if any stud players here can give me some basic advice IE....whats considered a good starting hand, how to bet, and some basic stratagy to get me started Thanks

hats, sunglasses, and other accesories at the table
Chez52 replied to Chez52's topic in General Poker Forum
[/img] Note........SOMETIMES THEY DO.....geez......I shouldnt even have mentioned the pros.....i was justing to do it to proof my point about the weaker players wearing those things to intimdate people.....i guess you may have missed my point...... -
hats, sunglasses, and other accesories at the table
Chez52 replied to Chez52's topic in General Poker Forum
I really wasent talking about pros......thanks for pointing it out though.....kinda hard to notice all of them.....i never said that no good players wear sunglasses and if i did i didnt mean thatI was talking about players in your games and in casinos -
Now I know that this doesnt apply to everyone, but I have noticed this and I want to know if it happens to other people.Every since poker has gotten big i have seen more people in home games and casinos trying to be like the pros and that includes looking at them. When I play people that wear hats sunglasses and have thier I Pod are usually the worst players at the table. I think maybe its becasue they are trying to intimidate you or something by looking like Phil Hellmuth with his hat and glasses covering his face when they are trying to bluff you. Its even worse when at my home games someone

what do you do when you find a cheater in your game?
Chez52 replied to efridge's topic in General Poker Forum
In most of the games I play I just play with friends. Ive known these kid for a long time so the games are always cheat free. But sometimes we let freinds of freinds play when we want a bigger or new people. Cheating has never come up, but what i would have done in your situation is point it out the table. You saw him deal out of the bottom of the deck and hes usually a losing player. But he has a stack of chips in front of him. So if you would have bused him right there (like in Rouders) people prob would have believed you. As for what i would have done. I would give the pot to the other play -
After reading that post reguarding Limit Hold em not being poker I was inspired to ask the forum how to adjust to playing Limit Hold em. 95% of the cards I play is No Limit Hold em the other 5 is between Omaha (which is a great break from Hold em) and 7 Card Stud (I know how to play.....but im awful....I think its luck (I know its not, I just havent mastered the rules of it....I respect all Stud players because to me that is the hardest game.) Anyway Im insterested in learning Limit Hold em. Whenever I go to Borgota I have to wait at least an hour to get a seat on the No Limit Table where I pr

Last night I was playing in my big weekly game, but the table was very weak (I guess all the good kids had a test today) Anyway I bought in for 20 and i was 60 thanks to some crappy calls by the other players (I Love Free Money) So anyway I was on the button his hand and the first person under the gun raised to a $1.50 (.25 - .50 blinds) the tabled folds to me and look at pocket ducks. I love pocket dueces....I know you have to hit a two outer to win, but its very profitable to play them esp for such a weak raise. I call The flop is Ad 2h 7d I had my set and the guy checks to me....I checked

did i make a bad fold or did he make a good bluff?
Chez52 replied to ldudeus's topic in General Poker Forum
The one thing that bothers me about the way you played was the hand was that you were hoping for a raise.....and you got your wishUsually when I want someone to raise you want to re raise and I think that most players here would hope for that that for the same reason (please correct me if Im wrong)Instead of calling you should have moved in right there.....your prob do have the best hand and with his agressive style he would have called with an A 10 and taken him down. Your biggest mistake was not re raising when you were raised. Also checking/betting the dark is never a good idea Good Luck... -
Hey Guys I was just trying to find out about some new games around where I live so I figured why not try the forum.I live in North Jersey in a Town called Wayne (About half hour from the Medowlands) i just looking to see I i can get into a home game. Me and my freinds use to play about 4 times a week, but those games broke down.....they just dont like playing as much as I do. Im starting to play once a week at NJIT and I play online, but I would like some more live action.....so if anyone here lives near me maybe we can start a game together

I have to agree with those you who say that Raymer is a skilled player. In 2002 I think when Varkoni won it was a joke.....hes such a loser and in my opinion not a good card player (at least not good enough to be World Champion). Moneymaker was a better player, but when he won he did get a little lucky. I have to give him credit though his game has improved since winning the WSOP....he made a final table at the WPT and I think cashed in other events. Granted his play in this years main event was a bit suspect I expect him to get keep getting better and Varkoni to fade into mediocrity (if he ha

listen, i don't mean this post as a flame, and i don't mean to sound like an ass... but this is by far the most wrong statement i have read on the site. contrary to what EVERYONE says...you make money beating BAD players. you do not make money beating GOOD players. you WANT loose games where you have five callers chasing you to the river. you WANT as many fish as you can.the only difference between playing against good players and bad players is that with bad players, you'll have more swings. but there is no doubt that you will make much more off the bad players than you will make off the good

Well I guess Party Poker is out.....If im going to lose my money I dont want to lose it to some idiot that sticks around with a flush draw and hits all the time......Id rather lose it to a skilled player who knows what theyare doing.....It would be more profitable for me to play with more skilled players and it would hlep my game better.....So keeping that in mind.....where do the "better" players usually play

Hey Guys......I was thinking about finally giving online poker a try.....I feel now that games in my area are lacking I need something to keep me sharp and play money tables really arent doing it.....I mostly play on Ultimate Bet......I was wondering what you guys think is the best site to play on online.....by best site I mean there actually good players there....not people have no idea what they are doing.....I was thinking about buying in for like $50-$100 dollars.....so if you can tell me which sites have the best games on lower limits.....if i like it I would put in more money, but for no

why are you even playing....i mean if six people cap pre-flop, then maybed toss it, but not if six paeople limp.....you should stay away from cards for life if you would foldI really didnt let the others people ragging effect me mentaly....I thought from a stratagic standpoint that if limped and caught a set I could def break someone since they would never put me on it.......obviously it didnt work......sometimes you look brilliant when you do that other times you look like an idiot (BTW only 4 people decided to see a flop that hand with me.....so three other people)Had I have raised (Like i w
