slowplaying a full house is always nice, unless you are less than ten away from the money in a fairly large MTT and someone decides to limp in from late position with pocket aces while you hold a 4 in the bb and the flop comes 4 a 4. I thought I was slowplaying the best hand and was very happy to get all my money in after the flop until i see he has the only hand possible to beat me and my 4 hours of work go to waste. Well, nothing you can do there - you're always going to lose your whole stack there!

You didn't have second nut low as 24, 25, and 26 all beat you (25 being the second nut low).As for getting away from the hand, you didn't describe any of the betting after your flop bet. If there was all checking, then no, you couldn't have gotten away. If there was a raise or a turn bet, you can easily fold that hand.

if i had a bankroll, i'd keep it in the $6666 range tooha ha ha ha ha, NICE! It's actually $7000, but I figured 15% was a good estimate. Little did I know! ha ha haCurious too, because my nick online is Azzy666

I'll be playing in the $1000 NL Hold 'Em event at the very end (#44).... my bankroll can't really afford the buy-in for any of the higher games as I'm already using 15% for this one!

gobears, it simply doesn't appear for me. Are you using the exact link I provided in that first post? It can't find anything by Harrington, let alone that book, and it only finds chess books by Bill Robertie...

Ugh! I missed this thread  Please check out http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...pic.php?t=11659 because I want this book!!!

Hey guys,I've been to Chapters (http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/Default.asp), but I can't seem to find this book. Can someone please give me a link to it or tell me if the below information is incorrect?Title: Harrington on HoldemAuthor: Dan HarringtonThanks a ton...

Just for $hits and giggles, here's a SUPER ABBREVIATED Cole's Notes version as requested:1. tight/aggressive2. Yes, raise with top premiums.3. Raise with AJ or AQ in late position.4. Yes, play small pocket pairs.5. Yes, only play suited connectors in late position.6. Loosen up your starting requirements a little.7. Read SSHE.8. No limit requires more skill, so actually better players rise faster in that than in limit. Now, if you take all that and think you know enough to start rising in limits, you're nuts. Basically each of those things summarize 25 pages in SSHE, but you won't do well at all

Do you have any info at all on the guy that went all-in? AKs is a drawing hand, but it's still very powerful. you're only a true dog to AA or KK, so as long as you don't put him on one of those hands you should probably consider calling.A fold here is dangerous because you could easily have him dominated if he did that with AQ or AJ... -

Well, just for your edification, the big game refers to the 4k/8k blinds mixed game. Refer to the Andy game as The Challenge or Conquest of the Corporation (ok, I just made that up!)...

Is http://www.pokertracker.com/ the program everyone uses?
-
I can't find PokerTracker on that site...
-
Good idea actually... hey, you got a link for me?
-
Hey guys,I don't mean to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but how do you all know that the poker tracker software isn't installing some backdoor software on your comp that will then send your hands out to the creators if you ever play with them? This is the big reason that I've held off using the software. Am I being too paranoid? Please convince me otherwise as I'd love to have this in-depth analysis of my play...Thanks...

Yeah, SS2 is incorrect! ha ha ha A ring game is, simply put, a non-tournament game.

I wouldn't? If only you knew

He didn't ask which hand would win the most, he asked what the best hand was. And frankly, AA is the best hand against AA 8)

Hey! We'll hockey-stick your ass!

Lean over and peek at their cards. Harder to do online... you have to be very sneaky..... :-) Seriously though, exactly what you said. If they smooth call your flop bet but raise you on the turn, be very suspicious. First, check to see if they could have completed their straight or flush. If that's not a possibility, then they most likely either flopped a set or slowplayed top pair, ace kicker.Hope that helps....

what's the funniest name you've seen at the tables?

Not really the best nick ever, but I got a lot of pleasure when I knocked a guy named IAmGod out of a tournament. Note the numerals in my username
