  1. I'm not giving AQ up here in a $2 SNG, shove and hop into the next one if you lose.
  2. The river sucks but imo you're better to come out betting. The calls on the turn may signify someones in with a flush draw, but when they've called your pre flop raise and checked that dangerous a flop i think it's also possible that they're slowplaying an ace or two pair or something, i think it's unlikely that when two people have called your PF raise that they haven't hit anything on that flop, the button checking especialy seems odd to me.I'm not sure how much you should bet on the river, but i think it's a definite bet because otherwise you're leaving the door open for someone to bet behin
  3. I'm assuming blind means she didn't look at her cards? How could someone prove/how could someone play an online tourney without looking at their cards?

  5. Being English, could someone explain what happened?I love American sports especialy the NBA but have pretty much no clue about American football.
  6. Haha, well done Chug.By home game do you mean you and a group of mates organised it at somebody's house or do you mean home as in makeshift casino(like a pool hall that hosts poker tournaments every week)?
  7. I'm seeing how far i can go with a dollar on stars, playing primarily limit hold em like Smasharoo did.I'm up $1 over 1k hands so far playing 6 max .02/.04, but i'm playing pretty badly.Good luck with your attempt OP, remember to keep to the rules even when you are winning!
  8. I can't even beat micro limit games on stars, despite being a poker obbsessive, how bad do you think that sucks?
  9. 71 after 171 hands?!I may have got this wrong, but aren't you meant to be around 7-14?I reckon it's a raise here, i don't really see him to be likely holding something that's beating you and i think from the way he played this hand he has something like J9s.J9s works with the numbers aswell, he called a cold raise from the SB with a suited hand, bet called with his top pair then bet raised when he hit trips. I don't think someone who is loose passive (which maybe mistakenly i view as a synonym for bad) would recognise that you capping the turn means you have a better hand so i think he thinks
  10. Debating religion is like the special olympics, you may win but you're still retarded.
  11. I think if your pastor really understood poker like you do he wouldn't have the same opinion.Poker has a really awful reputation among a lot of people, especialy religious ones, i doubt he really understands the skill involved and the people who play it.
  12. Personaly i would have raised on the turn and bet the flop if he checked.I guess with flat calling the turn you may have enticed a bet on the river, but i think there's a good chance he might call the turn raise aswell and raising imo gives you a better table image in the long run.Though my logic is probably flawed
  13. What was your reasoning for not betting the turn? I think you are probably ahead there and should bet/raise.
  14. Thanks a lot for all the replies, reading them now makes me feel a bit dumb for calling lol.I never used to call with overcards, but when i started playing micro limit tables i got annoyed when i'd fold them in a 3 way pot and the winner had K high, i guess i was starting to get into a bad habbit of looking for reasons to call instead of fold. Why do you count overcards as less outs? I get the point on the turn that my ace is bad because it would give somebody with a five a straigh, but on that flop with two overcards why aren't they worth 6 outs? the board is pretty un-cordinated so isn't it r
  15. I think building up a bankroll from a small starting amount is a lot easier online because of the game choices, especialy at stars.I would reallly reccomend trying to get internet access and tear up the micro limit tables for a while.
  16. That's a pretty decent call with K3
  17. PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is SB with 9, A. 3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.Flop: (5 SB) 2, 3, 8(5 players)Hero checks, BB bets, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Hero calls.Turn: (4 BB) 4(3 players)Hero checks, BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero calls.River: (7 BB) K(3 players)Hero checks, BB bets, MP3 folds, Hero folds.Final Pot: 7 BBI know it's not a very exciting hand, but i'm trying to improve my use and knowledge of pot and effective odds so i'm wondering
  18. Ok, what are other people's hand statistics roundabout and what do you consider to be tight/loose in what games etc?I know i'm being vague and it's a very situational thing, but i'd like to get a better perspective of what percentage of hands certain types of players play.
  19. During current Hold'em session you were dealt 79 hands and saw flop: - 10 out of 11 times while in big blind (90%) - 3 out of 10 times while in small blind (30%) - 7 out of 58 times in other positions (12%) - a total of 20 out of 79 (25%) Pots won at showdown - 4 of 7 (57%) Pots won without showdown - 3Playing at $.02/.04 on stars.I know you can't deduct very much from these at all, but is everything there alright for a micro limit game?
  20. Bet, don't give players at micro limit credit for hands, the standard of play is so awesomely bad that marginal folds in better games become easy calls/bets.
  21. In situations like that, i don't really think it matters what/when you bet, pretty much all of the time all the money is going in the middle, it's unavoidable.I'm not folding top two pair in that situation either.
