  1. How much bigger are the swings in PLO than NLHE? And how many buyins do people with experience in the game think are necessary to be comfortably rolled for a limit? I want to learn the game and play it more because it really seems like NLHE is getting tougher and tougher to crush, but I dunno if I'll be able to handle the swings if they're as sick as everyone makes them out to be.
  2. lol, I completely understand what you mean though. There are a lot of bands that I find myself hating for no specific reason other than I know someone who is a complete ******* who is obsessed with them. I absolutely hate it when I make somebody a mix, which was carefully constructed with consideration to their supposed "taste" in music, and I give it to them and they never even tell me later on if they listened to it, liked it, hated it, etc. I mean even if they thought it was garbage, the least they can do is tell me they listened to it and why they think that. But for all I know they just l
  3. Agreed. If you can only buy in 20 bbs deep, it shouldn't be hard to get it in on the flop with your premium hands as a solid favorite. Especially against calling stations who won't lay down a weak flush draw on the flop or second pair.
  4. Hi =) lol, actually I don't really listen to a ton of indie music believe it or not. I'm much more of a prog/ambient kind of guy (which, many think is infinitely worse, but I'm used to it.)
  5. I agree. Checking behind is probably okay, but it seems like this is the type of player who will play back at you or at least call you down with any piece of this flop. Valuetown imo.
  6. Stuff I've been listening to lately:Spiderland by Slint- Amazing album, but you have to be into weird music to like it. The distortion part of Don, Aman sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it.Everything Is EP by Neutral Milk Hotel- I know at this point it's kind of cliche to say that you really like In the Aeroplane Over the Sea like it's some lost indie/folkish gem, so I tried getting some of Jeff Mangum's older work. It's even stranger than On Avery Island, but there's something about his songwriting and lyrics that really connects with me despite a lot of them not making any sense
  7. Pretty good read. I admit that I'm also a cashier button whore while I'm playing, and I'm trying to work on that by just recording results at the end of a session and focusing on my overall winrate and the number of hours I'm putting in.
  8. I just finished reading your other thread. I understand your mindset regarding BR management, moving up, etc. because I was in pretty much this same spot the first year I played online. I was playing strictly for fun but trying to do anything I could to avoid going broke because it wasn't easy for me at the time to get money online. I basically spent a couple months grinding 1.25 and 2.25 9-man SNGs on full tilt. I wasn't drastically overrolled for them or anything, but at the end of it all I barely had any profit to show for it.I think you have to ask yourself what you want out of poker. I kn
