  1. No, it's not a bad play regardless of who's making it.I think I made the right play because of my read. I didn't think a 4 would be able to call me there and I was wrong. I believe I was unlucky he caught a 4, as he could not have called me with Q high which I beat with K high. I don't know how much NO limit you play, but if you can't bluff confidently, even at a big stack, then you can't play no limit. I was playing to win, not blind myself away.I knew I could outplay this guy and he caught a card to beat me. I've made many bad plays in my day and I remember probably every single one. Yes, h
  2. He didn't put a feeler bet. He check/called the the turn for 22k.I shouldn't have tried to explain this play I made. Perhaps I was correct in thinking not many people make the play?I was playing him, not my cards. I thought he was weak and calling him would slow him down, which it did, I just didn't believe him to have a 4 in the hole, and if he did, certaintly wouldn't call with it.peace.- Jordan
  3. try mike caro's book of poker tells.- Jordan
  4. If you're 16 and planning to play in a casino....good luck...I'm 20 and could probably pull it off but wouldn't think about it at age 16...unless you give off that vibe and look the part, not to mention sound it.Just an ignorant opinion.- Jordan
  5. Eddie, just start a poker journal if needed. It's simple and reflects results as long as you're truthful.- Jordan
  6. That's fine, but you are only assuming and do not know for sure as you are claiming to be the most "probable" reason. I just gave another very valid option as to why (without claiming it to be an absolute). Online poker and poker are two very different games.Smash, I'm not looking to offend you or hurt your spirits, but many of your posts in reaction to anothers objection are very pompous.Good day sir, good luck with your 50-1000 goal.- Jordan
  7. Or, without being a dick like smash (no offense, you didn't offer much other than what you said), you play people not cards...which is what online poker is (straight cards - for the most part). My live game is stronger than my online game so I prefer live...I believe Jennifer harmon herself (duhn duhn) said it herself that her online game sucks cuz she can't "read" people as well...Stick to what you are comfortable with, and that sounds like live play.- Jordan
  8. The answer is the mod locking this thread and forgetting about it.- Jordan

I'm just using a quote with you in it...nothing i'm about to say relates to that quote.Play poker for money not for bragging rights. I don't really care if you played in the "big game" or not. Poker is about money, not popularity. Just shut up and play. 25-50 or .25-.50 I don't care. Just shut the hell up. No one cares.- JordanAnd do not use the argument, "If no one cares why did you post that?". Good day.
  10. Bleh. I suppose my post was just rambling. I dunno. I was sure I was "ahead" in the hand, which I was I guess until the turn which wasn't really a scare card. Forget this post...probably could only comment on it if you were the one playing the hand.anywho- Jordan
  11. Alright fellas. This is the first post I've made in this section of the forum regaurding a hand I played. For the most part I think that I made the "right" play, and just happened to end with bad results. Before I get into details, let me give you some background. We are at the, duh-duhn, final table of a 3 table tournament. Started with 21 people and was worked down to the final 6 when this hand came up.Big blind was 2400, small 1200. I'm in the BB with about 33k infront of me. Levels are raising every ten minutes. I have played with the SB once before in a stupid little cash game, just for fu
  12. That's fine...but you don't have the BR...yet. If you take a bad run of cards you will feel differently about it. Bankroll is a very important factor in being a successful winner (if you are playing as a means of some sort of income).Just my opinion, but I'm sure many others would advise you the same.Good luck.- Jordan
  13. I'm going to try the "accidental" call move and maybe that will help me win. This one time..I was holding KQ, limped in, got raised behind, call. Flop comes rags...raiser moves in, one calls, I fold. Raiser turns over JJ (dont remember other guy). Turn was a King, river King. Wish I accidentally called there. - Jordan

    Does God care?

At least you have an educated opinion for your disbelief.Oh wait, I'm assuming you don't have an educated reason for your belief, aren't I? I guess I should be worried about offending you, cause perhaps you did come to your stated conclusion through "mature" means. However, you shake your head at "mature" adults, and probably assume the same about them in their beliefs."There is no god, Jesus never existed, etc."There is a god, Jesus existed, etc.I guess we have conflicting statements with about the same amount of support for each.In conclusion, don't post what you don't know. Or assume what y
  15. By reading the board.Learning what type of hands certain individuals prefer to play.Learning what type of hands certain individuals play in certain situations.Betting patterns.Knowing your opponent in general (the more detailed the better obviously). The better you know your opponent, the better you can put him on hands. Reading the board is also important in becoming a better "hand" reader. Most all of this comes from experience, so the more you play, the more you can expect to be able to "learn".- Jordan

    Taking a Break

AK gets cracked? AK isnt much. If your lossing big pots with this hand consistantly you should look into how you are you are playing it.. It should be a profitable hand for you cause when hits. its youre normally good and others are drawing. OR someoneelse got lucky and hit a Q or J or has a pocket pair and you simply fold.. Fold when u know ur beat. Too many people go to the rail w this cuz they think they are entitled to win the pot.
  17. That stuff happens live...I just RE-Deposited @ UB 2 tak eadvantage of the big reload bonus. I prefer Live play 10-Fold but some of the online promos are t ogood to pass on.
  18. Tyler...we need to play tonight.- Jordan
  19. See, if I played online, that would be the way to do it. Play as much tables as possible, staying within your bankroll, and watch your hourly rate sky rocket.Of course your brain has to able to compute many different sets of information, which with this style probably is better for a person with a good IQ...or whatever goes along with being able to handle a lot of information at one time. A lot being 3-4 tables or more.- Jordan
  20. I used to play online quite a bit, mixed with live play, but I recently decided to just drop online poker for the most part.I dunno about the outdraws. That just seem to happen. It may seem like more cause online you play more hands, but the thing I dislike the most about online play is not being able to look at your opponent. For me, online play has taken a big part out of the game, so I'm pretty much finished with it for the most part. I may put down little deposits here and there from time to time if I want to play in some tournaments or qualifiers some, but other than that I think live is
