Well, I wasn't trying to be a dick, or rude.I guess I am missing the point. What is it?I don't really see what having to sit down with me at a poker table has anything to do with anything that's been said. Do you have something to proove to me? No. I don't care.Good day and good luck qualifying.- Jordan -

You have the roll to play 2k-4k or 4k-8k? I guess anyone could "hang" or "play" with them if one has the means. Doesn't mean you'll win or lose though.Anyone could even say it. It's like those singers that show up on American Idol...most seem to think they can sing and belong in hollywood...nope.- Jordan -
This may seem a like a vague question, or one that simply relies on the situation...However.I was wondering how many of the more serious MTT players here try to mix up their game during a tournament and when they find "mixing" up their play to be most profitable.By "find" I mean a few things. Position in the hand, stack size, blinds, table image, your image, in the money, near the bubble, etc.I'm trying to start a conversation here, but without putting a lot of detailed information in the first post..just curious to hear some thoughts.Hope I made sense. If not, oh well.Good day.- Jordan

lolFolding is an artform.Whenever I fold I try to slip my cards through the air and land in the dealers muck so perfectly he smiles at me and proceeds to deal me AA for the rest of the night.Oh it's happened.- Jordan -
Could be worse. No limit bad beats are the worst. I've taken and handed out my fair share. They suck.- Jordan

I play at UB mainly. I've played at PP. I hate PP SnGs. They suck. UB is nice. 1000 chips, blinds start low, 5-10. I believe rounds are 7 or 8 minutes. 10 people. I find them to be a bit higher skilled than your average SnG site. I've also played at Pokerroom and although they start you with 1500 in chips, I dislike their software as it screwed up my computer.Havn't played at FT...sounds good, but I'd prefer 10 people for a better payout for your time.- Jordan

Word. I'm not on much these days cause of my dumb connection. How'd you end up in your SNGs?- Jordan

Eek, forgot. With my limited limit knowledge (oops) I'd also probably fold on the flop. Mostly for the reasons mentioned above. You need a big draw, and then with all that action I'd def. figure I'm beat here.Hope I'm not too wrong in my logic...again, I play more no limit cash games than limit.Good luck.- Jordan

I dont play limit much...but I still think I would have folded the hand preflop. That probably is not the right play, but with QJ offsuit I know I wouldn't be comfortable with top pair of Jacks, or Queens, and thus would fold the hand. If I play QJ, I normally make sure I'm suited and looking to hit a flop with a big draw. However, as this is limit as opposed to no limit, I guess calling one more bet isn't a big deal...I just wouldn't be expecting much unless you were to flop two pair or a trips. This is an automatic fold for me in most no limit games, no matter what my position. If I'm suited, I

no limit versus limit - striclty money making.....

Very true. But the juicy no limit games are hard to beat. My friend made $750 last night riding AA and KK all night thanks to a very loose no limit game. This of course could have been negative if he would have been outdrawn 4/5 times he picked up those hands, but that night they held.I prefer playing no limit ring games as to limit games. I try to stick within my bankroll and that helps ease the unfortunate beats that do happen from time to time.Good luck bro.- Jordan -
Wrto. I know what you are feeling. When I put in a few hands at PP same thing kept happening to me. From what you posted, looks like a bad run. They happen but try to look long term. If you don't want to look long term, well, go back to where you are comfortable. Stars?Otherwise, keep playing.Good luck.- Jordan

Again, agreeable. I made a mistake in thinking this would be a spot to bluff, obviously I was wrong. Whether it is wrong because he caught third pair or not, is up for disagreement, but I think that has been discussed long enough.I truly believe that if again I feel I have the best hand preflop, flop, what have you, I need to re-raise. The slow bluff can work, but I do agree that the slow bluff will not work as well when you are not the huge chip leader and allow the chip leader to catch a mediocre hand.I was also thinking about this in the shower yesterday, we weren't very deep stacked in rel

No, it's not a bad play regardless of who's making it.I think I made the right play because of my read. I didn't think a 4 would be able to call me there and I was wrong. I believe I was unlucky he caught a 4, as he could not have called me with Q high which I beat with K high. I don't know how much NO limit you play, but if you can't bluff confidently, even at a big stack, then you can't play no limit. I was playing to win, not blind myself away.I knew I could outplay this guy and he caught a card to beat me. I've made many bad plays in my day and I remember probably every single one. Yes, h

Lol. Be done with me, I never knew you were with me.Darn. I hope I keep loosing money too, so I can proove you right smash.Last thought I have for you: I find it funny you judging my play based on this one result. Wouldn't you be annoyed if I did the same to you? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know.I'll keep going with my reads, and yea they'll let me down some as you can't always be right, but I'll keep playing my game and bluff off all my chips. Cause that's all I do. - JordanBut thanks for trying to help me realize what a horrible play I've made and that I should never do it again and never have

I think some people may just prefer to play in tighter games. Not that that choice is wrong, as you will make more money in the long run playing loose opponents. However, some probably don't see the "long" run clearly and get annoyed to quickly with the short run due to bad, or unfortunate beats. As I stated above, UB plays tighter than PP. I normally play NL ring games and have turned profits while playing at UB so pyschologically, I choose to play at UB over PP.Also, I personally believe if you are a SnG player you should be playing at UB instead of PP because of better blind structures. It s

Wow buddy, chill. Why would I call on the flop with nothing, just to check behind him on the turn? So I can bet the river if he checks to me? I certainly can't call a river bet if he puts one in.I made the call to take the pot from him on the turn because I believed he was weak. Which he was, until in his mind, strong with the pair he picked up on the turn.If I check the turn, I shouldn't have even called the flop. Again, and you berated me for saying this earlier. I had a read, a feeling, whatever you want to call it, that on the flop I had him still with King high. YES, King high. I should h

Ok...I prefer UB because their SnGs are better run than party poker as well. More chips, longer blinds, etc.I don't mind loose games, but I prefer playing them live, not as much online.Happy now? Geez man.- Jordan

No man. I can see how it can be a horrible against a big stack. The big stack can bust you. The big stack can bust you with marginal hands. He busted me with a marginal hand. However, I still stand behind the fact that my main mistake "this" hand was not raising preflop or on the flop and allowing him to hit his third pair on the turn.- Jordan
