  1. Just lead turn. Phil likes to make call downs and he prob thinks your dbl barrel range is pretty narrow, so it'll be putting him to a tough decision regardless of his holdings that are not 77, 22, or 99.As played, I would check/call turn and eval on river. I obviously have not played with your or Phil, but I presume he isn't going to try and move you off hands often on the river. I think if he bets river after you check/call turn he is either going to value with KQ or KJ, which we have beat obviously, or is betting a set/float. Kinda hard to really comment on the spot since not there, game flow and other dynamics developed obviously influence the most optimal line in the spot.But if I were you in this spot I'd lead turn cause he prob expects you to check turn with your entire range (you're "big hands" like you did here, and your missed hands, as well as pocket pairs) and lead with a very narrow range for value and/or bluffs, in which he can either make a tough fold or incorrect call down against you. So while he may try and float you on the flop/bet turn, it's very difficult to guage if he would be trying to move you off of your turn check/call at the river. So I think you give up some value by not betting turn and then re-eval river if you want to lead again and try and get him to call down with a weaker King or a hand like TT/JJ.

  2. why dont we just play 5/10 hu and first to win 10k wins their seat?instead of turning into a luck box shove fest...o, wait...if your srs dude come back to me with an idea of how this would go and some structure and i'll decide if i wanna waste my time or not. im not even going to vegas during that time, so if i am actually gonna do this some stipulations will have to be met on my end as well. for obvious reasons but ill spell it out...ill have to buy two flights, book two hotels, skip a few classes/finals, just to play you for a tournament i had no intention of ever playing in the first place, but if i would id just buy in and/or sell action anyways on my own end.

  3. but online you can play 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 times the amount of tables you would play live thus meaning your hourly is so much sexier. not to mention, that whole skill thing shows itself much quicker, since, you know, live you only play 30 hands an hour, if even...but online we can get in 1k an hour.but yea, i guess playing live can at least leave the deception of being a winning player after a few months, and maybe 15k hands.

  4. why are so many people reading this now?gang mentallity?since im more comfortable online with heds up tournies, maybe we could get dna to set up a hedsup series (one at a time) to satelitte into the wsop 10k heds up tourny?
    i sincerely hate tournaments but will sincerely do this depending on the structure.
  5. should we just whipp our dicks out and measure? id much rather play weak players and win free money. one of my bigger strengths is game selection/bankroll management (lately)ive never played heds up cash online, but have no probs playing for bragging rights, with money not being the issue, just the w/l or blinds won.

  6. i believe that alot of you internet multi tablers, really try to get poker down to an exact science of how to play every hand in every spot on every street. i do believe its very robotic and i love playing against these style of players, bc i know where they are coming from most of the time, compared to some random crazy player. while this style may be profitable on the internet today, i do believe playing like this robot is not gonna get you great success consistently on the live circuit in the future (slower blind levels, live reads, more postflop play). plus i also believe that as more and more kids join these training sites for online play, this current math based style will become much more the norm, used by more people, meaning it wont be as effective.now if your gonna tell me you have no cares of playing the live tour and being a pro player the rest of your life, fine. Enjoy this ride while it lasts. I just think if you have hopes of poker being your income for a long time down the road, this current robotic math style isnt the way to go. and whoever said DN is a dog against 10/20 online regulars, that comment pretty much screams to me, (hi i have no long term future in poker, because i really dont understand the long term way to be a consistent winner, i think my way is right, and i will not change or adjust because im better than DN today, even tho i have so much shorter life/poker-cycle experience than him)and did someone really say that because they are 20 they understand women? thats a tuff one to believe. im sure there are lots of 70 year olds who have been married for 50 years that still dont understand women all that well.

I hope some of you never play cash games for your own benefit where you may actually have to think on multiple streets.hey dscoot. i already have been playing poker for a living for 3 years now and I have no desire of "playing the live tour and being a pro player hte rest of [my] life". looooooooool. like playing the live tour has ANYTHING to do with being a professional poker player.and even more LOL @ ensenuating that "math style" = robotic. srsly dude, do you just take what you hear from some 15 second exerpt from smoe TV broadcast bout some guy who plays more by "feel" than by "math" and then try to apply that universally to all other situations?here's a thought:if you really want to be a poker player, you understand the math behind the plays you make. Thus you incorporate both "Feel" plays with "math" plays. FWIW, I think it's irrational to even really use those terms in a description as to how one plays and I hope you can figure out why; although I'm leaning toward the fact that you don't.also, i read you play online sometimes.   7. You have a open mind. You state that you not one of the old players and you ask if the idea where know back then. You get the answer and still don't belive it. Ya the new internet player have created "all the different angles" and "makes the games infinately tougher". But if you still like a game us old time playe will let you teach us a new trick or two.

  8. lol, no im not being close minded.i was just thinking outloud in wondering if it was something that was just done.knowing how nitty and lol live cash games are even today, i would be surprised if 4bet bluffing and 3betting was even utilized like it is now...pre and post flop.the reason i think it would be "hilarious" is cause i think both people would be thinking in different eras of poker and it would be funny, literally, to see wtf happened.anyone that has played poker has bluffed, whether it be 3betting or 4betting or bluff/raising a river...but the fact that it's so WIDELY known now (all the different angles, plays, etc etc etc), makes the games infinately tougher.i think doyle, like younger kids, that talk shit are both outta line to an extent. i remember playing back in LA with some old guy and we got to talking at the table. he been playing poker for a living since the 70s and was actually a pretty cool guy. i was suprised at his play, cause i could tell it was somewhat different from most older gentlemen that i had played with before and/or their rep. it was interesting to pick his brain about the games back then and how it is now. needless to say, it is a completely different playing field and the internet has changed everything. the playing field is much more leveled now, and if you put your time and 'studies' in, like many succesful MSNL and HSNL pros do, i dont see how doyle can just be like, "yea, an old pro like johnny moss would beat these online kids".anywaysssssssssssssssssss my mind is soooo open
