  2. Nadal just got screwed by that line judge. How do you call that ball out? It was so obviously in. You only call it out if you see it's out! Such a terrible, game-influencing call. Someone needs to be replaced.
    he shouldve challenged
  3. I don't know if you guys have been following the olympic trials at all, but there is a 41 year old swimmer named Dara Torres who won the 100 freestyle, and will probably win the 50 tonight. She has has been in 4 olympics already spanning back since 1984. Twice she has been retired. She will probably be the flag bearer in the Olympics in a month. Recently with her staff of like 20 people she has been able to get back into top shape. It costs her $100,000 a year to pay all her coaches, nanny's for her kid, etc. She has a body-builder 6-pack.Here is a good article about her, and scroll down and you will see her abs.http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/29/magazine...amp;oref=sloginAnyways, I've been around swimming my whole life, and I've never seen a swimmer look like her. You don't start breaking records when your 41, especially after being training for only 2 years. I think she is on steroids. She can say all she wants that she gets tested all the time. There are ways around those tests. Especially when you have a staff of so many people around her. She has nothing to lose, if she gets caught she gets banned from swimming which she has already been retired from forever. Some analysts are blaming the new high-tech Speedo suits for the records. At the most the suits will help shave off a few tenths of a second, and that is in the longer races. That is a convenient excuse and will be talked about a lot at the Olympics instead of steroids. In reality steroids in swimming has been an issue in swimming forever although Americans have only occasionally been caught. Judge her for yourself, last day of olympic trials tonight at 8 on NBC. And she will be the talk of the Olympics along with Michael Phelps in the swimming portion. If she is not on steroids, then she is one of the most amazing athletes ever, but I just can't believe it.
I thought so to. I'm not totally convinced she is not but, 60 mins did an story on her about 3 weeks ago and I left feeling about 75% she is NOT on them. Who knows. But, if she's not what a great great story.
  4. Can't wait to hear Norman Chad on this one Playing a Different GameWhile every other table in the Amazon Room is playing with blinds of 50 and 100, the players at Blue #1 (Jamie Gold's table) are playing with blinds of 25 and 50. Neither the dealer nor any of the players at the table seem to have noticed or cared. We'll keep an eye on it to see how long it takes before someone mentions it to the dealer.Gold has played almost every hand so far. One of his opponents just asked him where his banner is (banners of past champions are hung around the Amazon Room). He replied, "It's two over from the question mark. There's the question mark for this year, Jerry Yang for last year, then me."
    I can...he's awful.
  5. Not to pile on, but I'll just say that quite a few players that I consider very, very nice guys have all listed him as someone they detested playing with, mainly for the way he treated dealers and fellow players. Hellmuth loved him which is understandable, but I'm sure there were people that loved Ty Cobb too.Semi related note, I found this article by Matt Savage when looking for another article, the part I pasted dealing with JB: http://www.pokernews.com/news/2008/02/othe...1-road-wsop.htm +1 great line
  6. Raymers response:Matusow had nothing to do with it. Prior to this pot, I had been bad beat out of 3 pots with over 300K chips in them, so I was a super-short stack instead of being the chip leader. Mike happened to win the hand that eliminated me, but my reaction was simply the result of frustration after entering 25 WSOP events, and getting bad beat out of 24 of them. While it is no excuse for tearing up the card, I'm basically 100% sure that everybody reading this would have a negative reaction if they had been subjected to my run of beats for the last month. If you were offended by what I did, my apologies. But it's really not that big of a deal.Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)
