  1. I'm in north Jersey, and usually I head to AC to play, but I'm thinking of saving myself some time and checking out the Sands in Bethlehem, PA. Anybody ever play there and have opinions or reviews of the place?
  2. I'm headed to AC this Saturday, and I'd like to find a low-stakes Omaha Eight or Better game. Does anybody know if any of the card rooms regularly run a game at $2-$4 or $3-$6?
  3. Thanks very much. Anybody else sit in an O/8 game in AC?
  4. Has anybody played any live Omaha 8/b in Atlantic City? I'm wondering what casinos regularly have it, at what stakes they run it, and how's the level of play. I haven't been down there in awhile, but I seem to remember a 5/10 game at the Taj, though I'm not sure if they've still got it. Are there better or worse places to play? Thanks very much.
  5. Sorry if this is an old topic, but I haven't kept up on these forums lately. I remember that Danny said a while ago that he lost a million in a session of the big game and that he wouldn't be playing there for awhile. Has he said whether or not he's been back to the big game yet?
  6. While we are on the subject of Ivey and cos i dont want ot start another thread, what happened to that golf debt/dispute he had with Ramdin? Did they sort it out at the WSOP like they said they would? Did Ivey get paid?I haven't heard this story, anybody got a link to where I can read about it?Thanks
  7. The whole episode is probobly on YouTube, just in 4 or 5 parts. The episode is usually broken up into those short 10 minute or so videos. You'll find the same on PokerTube.
  8. I thought I read that Ivey didn't play in the 500k buy-in HSP game. Anybody know otherwise and, if not, anybody know if he has a reason? Seems like right up his alley.
  9. Has anybody played (or play regularly) in Stars' FPP tourny's and have any thoughts on them... worth the time? General level of play? Worthwhile prize pool? Anything else? Thanks
  10. I'm curious what everybody requires to consider a session "a winning session." I know the dollar amount would vary with the stakes, but I'm thinking in reference to your buy-in. While I'm certainly happier with a 100%+ increase, I think walking away with 50% more than I sat down with is probobly my minimum requirement for a winning session. If I buy in for $50 and walk with $65 I'm definately happier than if it was $35, but a 30% profit is just a shade over breaking even, I think.Thoughts?
  11. Let me preface this by saying that I play the vast majority of my O8 at 1/2 HORSE tables. I think that's important for three reasons: 1) it's a limit, not pot limit, game, 2) I'm playing at relatively low stakes, which I think makes for looser play, and 3) I'm not necessarily playing with people who specialize in O8. So, with that in mind, here is my question...I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on the value of a pre-lop raise in O8. The game seems to me to be such a post-flop game that I see very little value in raising pre-flop. Ironically enough, I think this is even more true the
  12. Thanks, I didn't notice the forums over there. I'll see what I can find out.
  13. Thanks for the rec, but it looks like this site has seperate programs for seperate games, anybody know if there's one euqipped for mixed games, or maybe if all of Poker Tracker's programs can be run at once?
  14. Somebody mentioned off-hand in a post the other day that there was a program that was more useful for keeping session stats than PokerStars' stat box. Since I sit at the HORSE tables, I find that box particularly worthless, but would like to be able to look back over some stats from my sessions. Can anybody reccomend a useful program, hopefully one that keeps good stats even as the game rotates? Thanks
  15. Does Danny ever play the high-limit mixed games on Stars? I've been on FT longer than PS, and I like watching Ivey, Hanson, and Benyamine play HORSE... I think it'd be cool to see Danny, Greenstein and some others go at it.
  16. Thanks for the info and, yes, I do need an invite. Please send me one when you get a chance: PMaley@Indiana.edu.
  17. I've been playing a lot of razz lately and would like to watch that episode again with some more apreciation for the game and to see if I can pick up any tips.If there's anybody else who is like me and interested in watching poker that isn't NLHE, I did stumble upon ESPN's coverage of the 2004 2-7 tourny on YouTune. I don't remember that ever being on tv... they must have produced it and decided against airing it. Here's the link to the first of 5 parts:
  18. Hey, does anybody know if ESPN's coverage of the Razz tourny that TJ won a few years ago is available on-line anywhere? It doesn't seem to be on YouTube, and I don't know where else to look.Any ideas?
  19. I usually play at Full Tilt, but I've just downloaded PokerStars and I'm wondering if there is a reliable way to find and watch pros play on PS like there is on FT. Help?
  20. I'd probobly raise on 4 to let him know that you're not afraid of his Q's. If he re-raises, I'd be cautious, but I'm not a fan of the 5th-street fold. He was representing a big hand and you bought it without putting him to the test. With a K showing you had the chance to represent a hand lower than you actually had (how often does that happen?!). I raise on 4 or 5 says "Your Q's don't scare me because I at least have K's." Now, if he reraises, he's saying he isn't scared of your K... then it's a question of whether or not you believe him. A lot of factors come into play at this point, bu
  21. Not sure about either of these, but I think there was a post here awhile ago with a link that said they were running the game with a min-$500k buy-in and that there was, in fact, a million-dollar pot. It also had a list of the players, which I forget specifically, other than it was most of the big game usual suspects with DN first on the waiting list.Anybody have the link?EDIT: Found that info myself, in case anybody is interested:http://www.pokernews.com/news/2007/7/high-...season-four.htmhttp://news.parttimepoker.com/2007/07/15/d...e-show-network/
