Shulman Cracks Negreanu's Aces to Double Up and Take the LeadNegreanu raised his button and Shulman reraised. Call.Flop: {6-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}Shulman bet out -- and Negreanu announced all in. Instacall.Shulman: {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}Negreanu: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}Turn: {2-Hearts}The crowd exploded with various shoutings.River: a sad {A-Diamonds} as if to mock NegreanuShulman enjoys a full double-up and is now in possession of three quarters of the chips in play. Negreanu meanwhile is left with, obviously, one quarter.
that's just awful...hell, how much bad luck can you have? he had already kings and it didn't pay off...
  2. speaking of kings...

Only the Second Nuts for NegreanuAnother pot heads over to Negreanu who check-raised Barry Shulman 400k on a {3-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {5-Spades} flop. Shulman, who'd bet around 170k (hard to see from this angle and I think someone's turned the volume on Jack Effel's mic down), made the call. They both checked the {A-Spades} turn, but on the {4-Spades} river Negreanu came out betting -- 580k. This large final bet went uncalled, and Negreanu was left wondering, "Should I have gone in on the flop?" and showing his {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} for a very nice hand indeed.
  3. For the record, it's the most retarded large-scale protest in American history. While Fox was nice enough to tell a bold-faced-lie about the other stations failing to cover it, it's really an embarrassment to humanity that this protest took place. Have you seen some of the signs these people were carrying? It was literally a protest by the retards. [...]
proves my point that people in masses are more often dumb than intelligent
  4. the obvious difference is that we should not be like like everyone else in the world....we are more enterprising and work harder then the rest of the world....which is what made us the richest nation every...when you are on the ladder climbing you look up. when you are at the top of the ladder you set the sky as the limit. We the USA shouldn't compare ourselves to the rest of world...Bill gates sure as hell doesn't compare himself to you or I.
apparently, bill gates comes off alot humbler than you.this kind of mindset courd very well be a reason for your actual situation, too. if the sky is the limit and you think your're icarus, you are in for a hard landing.
  5. edit: oh, and avaron, I have no idea what you're saying in that last post.
well, i'm desperately trying to figure out, why everybody is so scared about a new health care system that (in the best scenario) can provide at least basic care to everyone, on a little fee from everyone? because i get the impression, even it were absolutely easy to manage financially, a lot of americans still wouldn't like it. and i'm guessing that a possible reason could be that you more or less care more about yourself that your society... something like that, anyway.
Which is why the Patriot act was/is a good thing!
No, because the...... actually, I'm too tired right now. Okay, you win. The Patriot Act was a good thing.
i got your back here, yorke.^^ the patroit act took very basic and very important rights from the society by force(!), opened the door for abuse and set a precedence for every little wannabe dictator that might get elected one day. we have a similar discussion over here.
  6. and it's just a shame that society has never worked together before without the insistence by force of the government.
of course some societies have. you could say that for every major revolution in history (french revolution, american revolution, revolutions of 1848/49, ..). or the process of establishing a (constitutional) democracy in england over time. just for example. although you could say, that even these events were triggered by some kind of governemental force. in these cases, litterally.but that wasn't what i meant.i was kinda talking about my impression that the major problem here might be that the concept of a "caring society" is somewhat new and somewhat frightening (judging from the many stupid "socialism" stigmatizations), considering that the whole concept of living as a society in the usa is different than in most european countries. or to put it simple, the american society is - more or less - based on selfhood, than on working together as an society. and it worked, for the last 200 years.but i also think that every society/system has to renew itself somewhere down the line, and this whole discussion about things like the healthcare, things that touch the fundamental views of your society (and this are things that startetd long before obama even was a politician) might just be a sign of this process. especially looking at how it culminates these days.
