  1. that's it

Negreanu Eliminated By BriteDaniel Negreanu was getting short on chips when he moved all in for 35,000. Geoff Brite called and it would be a race with his pocket threes up against Negreanu's {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs}.The threes held for Brite on a board of {8-?} {5-?} {2-?} {5-?} {4-?} to send Negreanu to the rail short of the money.
    gg daniel
  2. So the Mavs have a good season again so far. I really want to see them Dirk winning the championship this year. i think he's running out of time, either they do it this season or next, or he has to leave the Mavs and go to a team he can win it with. since he's getting older.thoughts?

  3. It's not a commentators job "to make the world better, to foster intelligent debate, to educate and inform viewers" it's to say things that are entertaining and get as many listeners/veiwers as possible.
see? and that's the reason why brain****s like glenn beck have their own tv shows.
  4. daniel is riding the shortstack...

Negreanu Not Wasting Any TimeWith the action folded around to him in late position, Daniel Negreanu slid his remaining 44,000 chips all in. The player on the button thought for a couple long minutes before reluctantly folding, and the rest of the table followed suit to send the blinds and antes over to Kid Poker."You have a big hand down there?" Negreanu asked the button. When he nodded slowly, Negreanu flashed {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} and prodded, "You have that crushed?" Another slow nod.As he pulled in the chips, Negreanu shrugged and added, "Whaddya gonna do? I can't fold that."

  6. To all the people who think Obama's response was too slow and too low-key..... do you realize that the president doesn't actually do any spying or data collection? That he has people who do that for him? That he probably has a cell phone in case something comes up that he can actually do something about? That nothing he says to the US public has any impact on catching terrorists? If you personally need someone to hold your hand through this difficult time, I'm sure there are resources in the community that can help you. I am not counting on Obama to get me through this, though, and recommend others don't count on him, either. It's not really his job. Anyone who says otherwise is asking to be treated like a child, and can hardly complain when he treats you like a child with other policy choices.
dammit, everytime i look in this thread, i want to post something. and then i see that henry has already done it for me.... :club:
  7. I can't believe there's no thread for this yet. So here are some random observations:1. Anyone who tries to blame this on Obama is an idiot. The R's are starting to make hints in that direction. It appears the R's are trying to waste their opportunity to coast back into power by saying stupid things. The Al Qeda problem goes back to when the US helped train them how to fight superpowers -- under Reagan. And it didn't help that W Bush attacked the wrong country, creating even more enemies and making AQ recruitment easier. 2. How is this a failure of US security? The guy got on in a foreign country. Are we supposed to have TSA agents strip-searching people when the plane crosses the US border? We have to face it: our security is subject to the weakest security at any airport that flies into the US. Making us take off our shoes or wear our underwear on the outside of our clothes won't help that.3. As usual, the TSA/homeland security response is ridiculous. Let's see, a guy on a terrorist watch list gets on a plane wearing explosives on his body. So what do we do? Prevent everyone from holding things on their lap during the last hour of a flight? WTF? It's as if they admit they can't solve the real problem, so they just make some stupid symbolic moves related to random specifics of this case. "One of the passengers saw the terrorist blow his nose with a blue Kleenex about 17 minutes before the attack, so no airline passengers may use blue Kleenex during the second half of a flight." 4. I thought I had a #4, but can't think of it.
    this.
No security system can possibly be perfect and the reality is that planes are going to be attacked and blown up. Trying to come up with a perfect system means that the Terrorists have won. They win when Western Societies over react and do stupid things like is happening here. Our societies make cost/benefit decisions when it comes to our personal safety every day. We aren't driving wearing crash helmets when we face far more danger of dying in a car crash because it would be stupid and the things that they're doing here and the cost to our society are even more stupid.Terrorism is about 576 on the list of things that threaten your personal safety and acting like it's the most important thing means that it works as a great weapon not because of the damage it causes or the lives it takes but because of the fear it instills that causes us to change our way of life and how it affects our economy.
    and so this!
  8. so a german article says he is not doing enough to NOT be like Bush on climate change and an obscure website promoting Tony Blair for PM says Sarkozy doesnt like Obama (not surprising they do not have similar politics) and that means Europe does not like him now?
btw, the "spiegel" is our most important political magazine.
obama did something like that to our chancellor on one of his first visits to germany.
Actually I am think the opposite from your example. The anti US leaders were all voted out of office in exchange for Pro-Us politicians in Germany and France late in Bush's 2nd term.you can interpret everything anyway you want, but I see that as a clear example of Bush's decisions getting support much more than a few politicans saying Good Luck to Obama while he's still a candidate.
no, you're wrong here. in germany, schroeder clearly got elected out of office because of domestical reasons (Agenda 2010, Hartz IV, ...). yeah, he was the one who didn't want to join bush for the war on irak, but that wasn't the reason why he got elected out. that was the reason why he got elected for the second time in the first place. well, one of the reasons, actually.
  9. So you feel that your rights should be put up to the will of 50% + 1?So you are perfectly fine if we get a "public option" if the teeming masses want it?What about free speech? Do you think that should be put up to a vote?
that's why we have a representative system. masses are more often stupid than not....oh, wait, did you just say you trust the governement more than the masses?
