  1. Just got done watching a bootleg copy of the new wolverine movie. Wolverine goes looking for the character Gambit in a card room in New Orleans, and guess who's sitting at the table playing $25-$50 blinds with Gambit. It's just a one second long head shot, but I was suprised to see him none the less. I'm more surprised that I don't remember reading about it one here earlier. Maybe I just missed it, but Good on you Daniel.
  2. Canada: America's hat, T shirt I saw not long ago. Thought it was funny.
  3. I like the "I'm so mad I could kill a penguin" comment. It would be funnier if it didn't ring so true. (on life tilt right now)
  4. more fun quotes from Jefferson:The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. -Thomas JeffersonMost bad government has grown out of too much government.-Thomas JeffersonThe two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.-Thomas Jefferson
  5. akoff, just to let you know, the quote you have in your signature attributed to G. Ford is actually taken from Thomas Jefferson. Just thought you'd like to know where Ford got it from.Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. -Thomas Jefferson
  6. I wasn't saying that he should have killed them. That is still a crime in this country, even if they aren't citizens. I was just saying that they were lucky that he didn't do it.
  7. The insurance companies that still pay well make it worth it. I don't make much profit off of cash patients, but make up for it from the other insurance companies. Some patients that I know can't afford it, I see for free or barter with them. I'm not greedy. I guess thats why I am one of the few docs that struggles some months to make ends meet at the office. I've gotten to the point where most of my personal income comes from other sources; investments, rental properties, flipping houses. I continue to run the practice because I like helping people. There were a couple of months last y
  8. My question is what civil rights did he violate? They (immigrants) aren't American citizens, and as such are not afforded the same civil rights as Americans, are they? I think they should just consider themselves lucky they didn't disappear somewhere in the 22K acres, and call it a day. Better luck the next time they try to cross.
  9. I'm not sure you are correct here, or else I'm misunderstanding you. As a doctor, I can can choose not to accept certain insurances that I feel don't pay well enough. Any patients with that insurance can file a claim themselves and get reimbursed for the cash they pay. Not all companies will reimburse, or limit how much they will reimburse in these cases. Patients are welcome to find a doctor who will take their insurance. Insurance companies are allowed to pick and choose the doctors in their networks, so it is a two way street in that reguard. There are a couple of insurance companies
  10. Anyway, the relevency is that my poker career is now old enough that I've seen a lot of players come and go, specifically tournament players. I am totally open to being proven wrong, but my gut tells me that ironing out MTT variance, even online, can take years if not decades yet there are still lots of people who play MTTs for a living. Certainly I think live tournaments are almost purely luck driven, as it's not possible to play enough of them in a year to make up a solid and statistically meaningful sample. I think that's why a lot of people were put off with Vanessa Rousso making some c
  11. That just tilted me. I can't stand his whining and crying all the time. I 've gotten to the point that any time that his face comes up while watching a poker event, I instantly change the channel. If I sat at his table, I'd probably end up in jail for aggravated assault for pummeling his fat little head. He bugs me.
  12. Although I didn't vote for BHO, and am not particularly impressed with his start, I do find myself cheering the guy on. Seriously, do we really want things to get worse under his tenure, just to say "I told you so"? I admit there is a little vindictive part of me that wants this to happen, but then the logic side kicks in and thinks that it would be 'cutting off the nose to spite the face' as the adage goes.
  13. I find it funny that health care premiums continue to rise by 6-7% every year, but re-imbursement to us doc's continues to go down every year. Co-payments for patients are at an all time high as well. Many of my patients now have $30-40 co-pays. I see more and more patients every year to make the same or slightly less money every year. I am seriously considering leaving the healthcare field, and getting more rental properties.Having the goverment run healthcare would be even worse. Medicare and medicaid are the worst when it comes to payment. All other health insurance companies base th
