I am asking what online limit is comparable to 1/2 live. I live in Australia and we only have two casinos in our state and there are absolutely no no limit games running in either of them.I'm pretty sure from what I have read on these forums that 1/2 live is of a standard below 1/2 online, I was just wondering what people who play both live and online think. Like Temporary Nuts, who equated 1/2 live to $10 max on Bodog."Standard" of play? -
IMO Devilfish has maybe overtaken Phil. Everytime I watch him recently he goes off after losing, every time.I don't think you can call any one person the best. There are definately arguments for alot of people, in different games and limits of HE. He definately has my vote of the greatest whiner in the history of the world tho. -
I would say that he is the best Holdem player in the world at the moment.

Not really any strategy to discuss here as it is 100% a read-based play.If you have seen him go aggro for an entire hand with complete air before then it is ok.

Do you think that the two forms of the game are relatively comparable in terms of the standard of play at various stakes?I don't play live but just from what people hae said 1/2 live is a great deal softer than 1/2 online.LOL. If he has QJ we would be making a massive mistake by checking. There is no way he will fold to even a PSB on the flop here with QJ, he will at least call drawing dead or he may even raise. Also, I really don't think he is going to fire with anythin that won't call or raise a bet here. He has a T, he is def raising. He has the case K he is definately calling at least.The thing is, when you 3bet from the blinds and then check a flop that just smashed your range, even idiots will get a little suspicious. I know that if I was CO here and Hero checked this flop to me after 3betting me from the blinds pf I would be very suspicious of KK or a T, providing that Hero is not uber-passive.I guess I just don't see what he's calling with? AdXd probably.. The case K, sure.. but he's probably betting those hands when checked to anyway.. His hand range is so wide, I don't know why you wouldn't try and let him catch up if he has an AJ/AQ/A9 type hand or QJ or something along those lines--much moire likely holdings than AK. -
Fair enough, perhaps I am thinking of the hand too much in the context of my own play. I guess I just cbet every flop that I 3bet pf. If I 3bet the CO with AQ/AJ here I am still firing the flop hard.Ummm..why? And since there's only one king left int the deck, AK isn't exactly a likely holding. Why you wouldn't check here and let him take a stab is beyond me. -
So many people are typing this kind of hand lately where they flop a huge hand and get nothing for it. Its like they think its their fault or something, I dont know.You cannot really check this flop. The only way I would ever consider checking is if the CO is a nutcase and I know he will bluff at it hard. Otherwise I just bet it and hope is has AK or something.

I think some people think that 1/2 online is kinda similar to 1/2 live, which it obviously is not.the FTP 1/2nl and 2/4nl games have gotten pretty tough recently. -
Nice effort, a decent little boost to your roll.I finished 9th. I was shortstack and UTG with KQ of clubs first hand of the final table. Get called by AK of spades and AJ of clubs. Hand happened as soon as I made the post. LOL9th was $102.22Pretty good considering I only invested $9 in the tournament; the initial tourny fee, add on at the start and another add on at the end of the rebuy period. -

This season Cesc has been the dominant player in the EPL so far no doubt. Whether he is the best in the world I'm not sure. Its prob him or Messi atm. They are both better than kaka IMHO.I politely disagree. -

Couple of things. We do not have to be right half the time to make this call.I would be very surprised to see top pair here. It would be a super-wierd line. I really think he has the missed draw here or he has us beat. Having said that, I would call. I think its close, but probably just a call.Also, I think you are under-valuing 1/2 on FTP. I'm not sure if you predominantly play live or not but 1/2 on FTP is usually pretty decent.with the money in the pot you only have to be right half the time... you don't think he could be bluffing a busted draw or overplaying top pair at least half the time at a 1/2 game? i do -
I really do not think we beat much at all. I think it pretty much comes down to whether we think this is a busted fd enough to call. If villain doesn't have a busted fd I would be very surprised if we are ahead.I would probably convince myself that he has the diamonds enough to make the call, but that is because I am pretty awful and cannot lay down AA.you're getting 2/1... call. i think thats a pretty odd way to play a set or 2pr so they are not that likely imo. my initial read on a faceless 1/2 donk would be a busted draw, though qjd would certainly be your nitemare hand to face. since you're posting this i'd imagine he has some sort of bs like k10 or qj... but i don't think you can fold after putting all that money in getting 2/1... t oo many hands you can beat.phil

Noone can possibly say whether this is variance or if you played poorly unless you post specific hands. It sounds like you don't think you played your best which is a reasonable indicator.7 buy ins is heaps to drop. I only play online but my worst ever session was a 5 buy in downer but that was over a couple of thousand hands and I played complete rubbish.
