  1. It is HU and he's on the button.
  2. You need to understand how strong your hand is here on the flop. Firstly, under no circumstances are you ever ever going to fold here. If it even crosses your mind quit poker immediately. Now that you have established you are going all the way you want to get as much value out of the hand as possible. He has a spade draw extremely rarely, as you said, most of his range is made up of big pairs and high cards. I agree that his line is a little strange here but you are ahead like 99% of the time, just examine his stack size on the flop and start thinking about how you can size your bets to get
  3. The insta raise is pretty weird don't you think? And the raise is pretty large as well. Did this factor into your thinking at all?
  4. Pretty standard. Maybe raise a little more on the flop and bet the turn a bit harder? I see no problem with the hand.
  5. No. I think I saw him request a stake in another thread. Prob not the actions of someone up $50k this month. Just saying.
  6. I too was disappointed in the size of the rant.
  7. I'm not questioning your reasoning behind the fold, it is solid. I guess I just can't give the villain credit for a Q often enough here to let it go.With the flop bet I guess I just size my bets on the flop a bit differently. I would bet between $10 and $12 here myself, but I guess if this is your normal cbet then it is sweet.
  8. I think you might need to take into account that there are a brazillion ppl to act behind you and the board connected with a fair portion of their ranges. And do not consider your K or Q as an out here, that is a significant leak. The villain will very often show up with KJ/QJ here.
  9. I'd take the free card on the turn but your line isn't bad.As you said I raise or fold this pf. Probably fold at an 8 handed table.Edit: Just read the flop action. Not sure this is a profitable raise.
  10. I agree. I think the villain had either TT or JJ here with the slighest possibility of a horrible float with AK.
  11. Either 3bet properly or not at all, the minraise is bad, especially if you are folding to a push. As AimHigher said, bet more on the flop. What kind of bet is that?
  12. It fooled me as well, I thought it was Shimmering Wang as well until 5 minutes ago. It's not just the picture either, the style of writing is also quite similar.
  13. Calls? I could never ever get away from this. If he does this with a better 5 or 7s full then wow.
  14. Do hands with a queen in them other than AQ or QQ really call 12BB preflop? I would be reluctant to include the likes of QJ or QT in his range tbh. I just don't think its profitable to build a laggy image and then let hands like this go. This is the type of hand we get away from if we have a tight table image with some respect, I might be wrong though. Also I am not a massive fan of our flop bet. I think it looks kind of weak and may have induced this guy to make a play at us. I prefer betting like $10-$12.I dunno, I probably just go with it here, I am bad though so that needs to be factor
  15. Firstly, raising this preflop would have been fine. In this case hopefully we would have thinned the field allowing us to represent a hand like AK or KJ with a bet on the flop if we could get the pot HU or maybe 3 handed. The thing is you are being results based by saying he should have bet the flop here to chase out the 45. Ask yourself what your answer would have been if he had posted this hand with the action on him on the flop with an underpair against 4 opponents and two broadway cards on the flop. I guarantee nobody would have chosen betting as the optimal play.
  16. The flop contains two broadway cards which connects with a ton of hands. We don't take this down on the flop anywhere near enough to make it profitable to bet the 22. If you are called on the flop you are definately toast or up against QT which has like a brazillion outs against you anyway. BLuffing the turn after getting called on the flop is not great either I don't think. Too many villains get sticky with a J or K to make this profitable IMO.
  17. I used to play limit and I can kind of see where you are coming from in that there are a lot more hands with interesting dynamics in them when you are playing limit, especially SH. Also, there are periods in no limit that can just suck and be ridiculously boring. Having said that, there is nothing like the feeling of stacking AA with 222 for 100 BB IMO, which is something you can't do in limit. Also, you need to factor into the equation that no man has ever played LHE for more than 2 years without being declared mentally insane and institutionalised for the remainder of his adult life.
  18. I started playing NLHE cash on FTP earlier this year and started with $100 at the $10 max tables. I built i up to about $150 and thought I was going ok. Then I had one session where I lost 7.5 buy ins. I felt very similar to how you are feeling now, I just kept thinking how horrible I was playing, maybe I should go back to limit, etc etc.The one thing I remember most about that day was I had AA cracked a fair few times. I started to question my play in the most ridiculous of circumstances. I remember late on in the session stacking off with AA on a TJx board against TJ when the guy had ca
  19. Betting 22 on this board against 4 opponents is no good IMO.
  20. LOL @ anyone saying they would lay this down. Pack of lies.
  21. I'm pretty awful at poker but, given the table circumstances that you described, I don't think I can fold here. There are just too many other hands that he makes this move with other than AQ that we beat to let it go IMO.
