  1. OK, so I am still learning. These boards will definitly help my play. I am still a little to passive for my own good.
  2. Early in a sng with so many callers I would Fold. JJ against one caller with overs is ok, don't know the odds. But against atleast 2 callers with 2 more to act it is an easy fold with the blinds so low. You have only lost $60 so far. Could be worse if the callers behind you push.
  3. It looks to me like you had made it back to be fairly even with him. If you are going to push all in post flop, why did you not push pre-flop? You have a better chance of getting rid of him that way. What did he end up having for cards on the 10th hand? If it was pockets well thats just bad luck if it is Q and low kicker you might have pushed him away. IMHO
  4. I don't want to sidetrack the discussions about ICM as this will help me learn. But I wanted to say thanks for all of the good insights. I did call his all in, which I still think is the right play and here is how the flop killed me! PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t3000 (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com" target="_blank">FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)Hero (t150594)SB (t61114)BB =#A500AF(Villain)/ (t58292)Preflop: Hero is Button with 9 , 9 . Hero raises to t6000, 1 fold, BB =#A500AF(Villain)/ raises to t58142, Hero calls t52142
  5. No worries, Like I said I don't know anything about ICM. Is there a good thread in the forum that I can read?
  6. I really don't know much about ICM but it looks like the payouts matter at this point for ICM. Here are the payouts for this tourney:1st $2162nd $1443rd $85.68
  7. This is what I was thinking about afterwards also. With such a small bet pre flop I was letting any high card in to bet me on the flop. This is something else I am learning as I get more experience.
  8. I did not see alot of his hands previously as my hands were not enough to call an all in bet and I am also still learning to open up my starting hand requirements when the table gets down to this few of players.
  9. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t3000 (3 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)Hero (t150594)SB (t61114)BB (t58292)Preflop: Hero is Button with 9 , 9 . Hero raises to t6000, 1 fold, BB raises to t58142, Hero ??Villian had been pushing all in to pick up blinds, even with bets in front of him. With the chip lead I had, should I fold to the all in and looked for a better spot or make the call to have a chance at knocking someone out? My feeling is being 3 handed middle pair is a good starting hand, but I don't have a lot of experience at
  10. Can anyone play in these tourneys? I am new to this forum but would be interested in playing poker with you all on, I might learn something.
  11. D'oh, I totally missed the 10 man part of the paragraph! You are absolutley right. You get a mulligan when you are new right? :->
  12. With your chip stack so low I would have folded pre flop. You should have been tightening up your hands by this point, with the blinds at 20/40 you still have plenty of time to get a hand to double up on. If you follow therrinn's advice in the forum about playing sng's you will do just fine, it works the same for $5 ones as it does for $20 ones. http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=53305 If I play 2 hands during the 1st hour I am fine, you just need to push your hands hard when you have great hands. Don't play crap hands early as someone is always willing to put you to
  13. Congrats that is awesome!! I have fell victim to this little peice of advice before also, just not on that level yet!
  14. I would think it is not A-K, nor pocket 10's or K's because he did not raise pre flop. It could be K-10 but probably K-J or K-Q, could also be Pocket 7's. MP2 looks to be betting to push out a drawing hand and protect his top pair since both Hero and MP1 have been check-calling, indications of looking for a draw. I am still learning but this is how I would think it is going down. I would have check-raised after MP2's raise on the flop maybe a pot sized raise or a little more to see where you were compared to MP1 and MP2. At this point MP1 could not call because he has seen his feeler bet
  15. Does anyone have suggestions for how to keep track of a table? Are there any tricks to memorizing what the people at the table are doing when you are playing live games? I just started to use poker tracker and gametime plus for my online play but don't always keep track of a table when I play with my buddies. I have an idea of how they play so I am not as worried about keeping track but I want to learn so when I go to the brick and mortar casinos I will have a better chance. Thanks in Advance.Rick
