  1. Here's the actual hand:Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 150/300 Blinds (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comBB (t2255)UTG (t2740)MP (t2165)CO (t2880)Hero (Button) (t1100)SB (t2360)Hero's M: 2.44Preflop: Hero is Button with 7, 63 folds, Hero bets t1100 (All-In), 1 fold, BB calls t800Flop: (t2350) 8, 2, 2(2 players, 1 all-in)Turn: (t2350) Q(2 players, 1 all-in)River: (t2350) 5(2 players, 1 all-in)Total pot: t2350Results:Hero had 7, 6 (one pair, twos).BB had Q, J (two pair, Queens and twos).Outcome: BB won t2350
  2. The hand wasn't worth posting. The guy was playing way looser than he should have been in a step satty from the beginning. I was the shortie at the table and losing that hand to me would have completely changed the bubble situation. It was a terrible call on the bubble of a satty where the top 5 get a ticket to play again, and the rest get nothing.
  3. Half his stack.Anyway, my second attempt was a success. On to Step 2!
  4. Well first try was a failure. Completely card dead and then bubbled when I shoved 76o on the Button and the BB called with QJo. Can't believe he made that call on the bubble. Oh well. These 3-minute blind levels are brutal.
  5. LOL, I guess they figure that playing a $2100 super turbo for a ME seat is a bit silly. There are regular turbos, however.I decided to start at the bottom with a $3.30, 9-man turbo. The structure is better than I remember on Stars, where you had to finish top 3 to stay in the step system on step 1 (if I recall correctly). In the Tilt step 1's you stay in the system as long as you finish top 5 (1-2 win a step 2 ticket, 3-5 play step 1 again).
  6. fighter, that pic is going to give me nightmares for years to come...
  7. Full Tilt has launched their new step SnG satties to the WSOP ME and I think I'm going to jump into the action. I thought it might be interesting to have a thread where people can chronicle their step journeys. Tilt's steps are interesting because they have far more variety than Stars has ever had, including 4-person HU knockouts, 6-max, 9-man and 18-man regular speed, turbos, and super turbos, plus they have lower buyins to start (step 1 starts at $3.30).I think I might start by buying in directly to one $8 step 2, 9-man turbo and see how far I can get. I'm also curious to try the HU knockout
  8. Can't wait to try some of these. I've been looking around to see how long they take, and there was a $3.30 Rush Rebuy with 1313 entrants that is down to the final 6 after 2 hours and 40 minutes. Blind levels are 3 minutes, but when you're seeing 3x as many hands/hour as a regular game the relative speed is the same as a regular 10 minute blind level tourney. Ideal for someone like me who loves tournies but can never play MTTs because of the time commitment required.
  9. KT, this is precisely the kind of player you want to set-mine against. You know his raising range is pretty tight, which means he'll either have a big pair that he will have trouble getting away from, or big overcards that he'll have trouble getting away from if he connects (such as flopping TPTK). The likelihood of stacking these guys is greatly increased compared to a LAG who is less likely to have a hand he's willing to stack off with postflop, so your implied odds are solid. In addition, you can also call with hands like 66 with the intention of calling his CB because fit-or-fold players wi
  10. No less profitable than Rush cash games.
  11. Oh my g-d, that's freakin' awesome. Tournies that will move quickly without stupidly fast structures. Perfect for those of us who like tournies but don't have huge chunks of time to play them.
  12. I need to tap into the collective wisdom of the forum. A handful of friends and I play a Friday night home game and recently we've shifted from cash games to tourneys. We've struggled a bit with the right structure based on the following parameters:1) We start at around 9:30pm and would like to be done around 12:30am2) We like to play HO (1 round of NLHE followed by 1 round of PLO)3) We typically start with 1000 chips4) We like unlimited rebuys for the first hour with 1 add-on at the end of the hour5) There is usually 6-8 players totalThere's been a bit of a debate around whether we should in
  13. I'm not that smart, that's why I post here.
  14. 3-tabling regular 10NL is working pretty well, I may not have to return to Rush after all.
  15. Yeah, I meant trip J's.That's what made me question the river bet. In order for betting the river to be +ev, two main conditions have to hold:1) I have to beat the range of hands he'd call with2) the value I get from (1) has to outweigh the risk that I get check-raised by a better handAssuming I bet $1.20 on the river and fold to a check-raise (inherent in that is the assumption that I would lose to his entire river check-raising range), will I get called by a worse hand more often than I'd get raised by a better one?
  16. Very close. I made the call thinking there were enough trip Q's in his range but he flipped over QJ.
  17. Which means he could be holding any single club. What happens if you call this flop and another club falls on the turn?
  18. I'm not crazy about just calling the flop since he could be donking with a big club (or any club) in his hand. Raise flop?
  19. Okay, okay, isolate preflop. So Hero bets $1.20 and villain shoves. Easy fold?
  20. Only a few hands with villain but he did limp UTG.Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (7 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comSB ($13.11)BB ($3.76)UTG ($8.50)MP1 ($14.94)MP2 ($4.32)CO ($11.93)Hero (Button) ($10)Preflop: Hero is Button with 9, 8UTG calls $0.10, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.10, SB calls $0.05, BB checksFlop: ($0.40) 10, J, J(4 players)SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $0.10, Hero calls $0.10, 2 foldsTurn: ($0.60) Q(2 players)UTG checks, Hero bets $0.60, UTG calls $0.60River: ($1.80) 5(2 players)UTG checks, Hero ???
  21. If the tables I want to play at are full, yes I put my name down on the waiting list. Doesn't usually take too long but still. I don't start tables because then I have to play shorthanded until it fills (I play full ring) and I have no control over who sits down. I just got spoiled by the instant action of Rush. You log in, start playing immediately, don't have to worry about tables breaking up or getting surrounded by shorties, and can play several hundred hands 2-tabling for 45 minutes.I'm going to try 3 tables tonight and see if it gives me enough action.
  22. It was also a painful reminder of one of the things I found most annoying about playing regular cash: the time and effort that goes into table selection, looking for tables that aren't dominated by 1/3-1/2 stackers, waiting for a seat...
  23. Oh my lord, playing regular 10NL is like watching paint dry after playing Rush. I'm going to have to throw in a 3rd table so I don't fall asleep.
  24. Now that Take 2 is over there is no incentive to keep plugging away at Rush, so I'm going to take a shot at transitioning my game over to regular 10NL. Should be interesting after 20k hands of robotic Rush. I haven't played with my HUD in months.
  25. Entirely 10NL Rush. I was all set to go back to regular tables after Take 2 but now I'm wondering why I would bother.
