  1. Have you seen the new FT commercial with the two of them, and Mike has subtitles? It's pretty funny.http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/commercials.php
  2. It was ten high.He had 9 10 and was playing Monsour Matloubi heads up, the 1992 Main Event champ. People were saying the Matloubi was the next Stu Ungar, so Stuey challenged him to a $50,000 heads up match. Stuey had a lead of 60-40 when this hand came up.Stuey raises on the button with 9 10. Matloubi calls.flop 3 7 7. Stuey bets $6,000, Matloubi calls.Turn K. Check Check.River Q. Matloubi goes all in. Stuey thinks and says, I think you got either 4 5 or 5 6, I call.He was right, take it down, ten high.
  3. Woops missed that part. Yes then play it. My B.That makes this call even easier.
  4. That's still an Ungar-like read that I don't know whether or not I believe we are capable of making, especially online against a player we are unfamiliar with. Leading is much safer IMO.
  5. It was against Johnny Moss and he called with the same hand, and he was right, Johnny had a lower straight draw. In fact he actually called with one player still to act behind him, and Doyle was smart enough to realize that that player had to flop TP, no kicker since Doyle called. In fact that's exactly what I thought of when I read this post. So originally I said raise, but if you think he missed his draw, I like leading out and bluffing yourself a hell of a lot more than I like check/calling with Jack high. Call me crazy.
  6. No no my friend, we do not like it.Raise if you think he is weak, you are not Stu Ungar.
  7. This is how I would have played it.Preflop: Fold. K 2 OOP??Flop: Lead into the raiser. You said he is a slow player, so I don't think you're going to get much action out of him by slowplaying yourself. Hopefully he has a big pair and he raises. Turn: Depends what happened on the turn, but as played, you gotta start inflating this pot, lead for 3/4 the pot.River: Bet, Reraise. I thought he was a slowplayer? Wouldn't he have checked the nuts on the flop if that was the case?
  8. Getting a good price, see the flop IMO, but let me get this straight, you raised because you wanted the BB to come over top of you?? You know you only have Jack high right?
  9. 64/51/4.18 Stupid question but what do these numbers mean? I assume they are from pokertracker or something.
  10. But if you always raise the same, with aces and with suited connectors, they can't tell when you're strong and when you're not. That's one part of my game I don't like mixing up.
  11. From the way you described him, I don't see how the button could possibly have you beat.
  12. This is the money bubble right? Apply pressure he's just trying to eek in with that stack.
  13. Raise more preflop, 8000-10,000, insta call the reraise.
  14. This may be the longest strat thread I have ever seen.
  15. I donked off my whole stack with TPTK, AQ vs AA on a board of Q 8 5. It was one of those ahh **** it I call moments. I'm actually kinda pissed at myself. Still railing you though. GL.
  16. Starts in 20 minutes, I'm southrnctowl. Who else is in?
  17. Preflop is fine, there's no reason to shove all in when we have 30 big blinds. On the flop, I like the call. He could easily be Cont. betting a big ace, and with this call, we can cheaply reevaluate on the turn.On the turn, I like how you recognized his weakness and attacked. His line seems extremely weak to me. Weak preflop, cont. bet on the flop, then an "oh sh*t I got called I better slow down" check on the turn. Then a weak check on the river. I don't think we have the best hand here, but I don't think he can call a big bet on the river.
  18. Fold Preflop. As played raise now because another diamond on the turn might kill your action.http://philivey.com/phil-ivey-tips.php?learntips=58Here read this.
  19. Where do you live? How would we communicate? And how big a roll would one need?
  20. I only play LO8, no PL, but I would have raised preflop, raise the flop, and the river is the perfect card, so good raise.
  21. Fold preflop.Pot odds I know. But you're out of postion against a tight player who rarely re raises. Just give it up.
  22. The only reason I would just call is because of the minraise. This usually represents a strong hand, and also by doing this he is giving you a good price to hit your set.
  23. If he has a straight draw, you don't want him to fold. If he has 78 he is far behind in the hand, and you want him to put in as much money as possible. Next time bet the biggest amount you think he will call, not an amount to get him to fold. As for the results, you got your money in as a 4 to 1 favorite. You did it right. Welcome to strat, where we are not results oriented in our thinking.
