I dunno. Your main problem is you're WATCHING Tilt. As if the cop guy is the only horrible character to complain about. I watched the first Tilt episode only -- and I still want that hour of my life back.

is there a dictionary/glossary post that defines ...
MrConceit replied to AKQJs_2o's topic in Poker Forums
I tried that' date=' the all the Glossaries show the words all spelled out, I already know what those mean. Abbreviations like "UTG, SnG, NL, EP, LP, TPTK, bb, sb, o, s, d,c,s,h ..." are all pretty easy to figure out, but what is "LAG, "TPWK" ("top pair weak kicker" as opposed to TPTK?) ~ ???I'm having trouble with the "shorthand" being used in some of the posts on this bbs.Links to online poker dictionaries for those in need -http://www.pokernews.info/pokerterms/http://conjelco.com/faq/rgpglossary.htmlhttp://www.thepokerforum.com/pokerterms.htm[/quote']I don't know of any place that gives -
He makes money from his cash games. He does basically give away all poker tournament winnings. And (from what I read) quite often can't write it all off. He was about ready to retire on cash game stuff before he got back into the tourney trail. He did it so he could donate money to charity.

Dude, that's so stupid. So you really tell yourself this anytime you lose with a hand that wasn't the best preflop, regardless of what you flopped?Poker isn't a 2 card game thankfully. If I flop two pair or trips and an overpair or just top pair gives me huge action, if he then draws out on me on turn/river I don't feel like his card karma came into play. That's so silly. That's like when people post hand histories where they saw the flop for cheap or for WHATEVER reason they were in the hand, and like somebody ignores the postflop play entirely and says OMG, you played XY offsuit, of course

Yeah, I've heard the cardplayer calculator is good, I've always used twodimes so I don't see a reason to quit. It's obviously free too. :)Surely cardplayer does stud too!? Twodimes does hold'em, omaha, O8/b, stud, stud h/l (with or without qualifier), razz, 5 card draw with a joker (thank god!), and deuce to seven lowball.Twodimes should pay me to plug their (free) site dammit![Edit]Ewww, I just looked at cardplayers. It's a cumbersome GUI, yuck!I'll never change now!

Thanks. If there hadn't been so many people still in the hand I might have backed off a bit on the turn. But not when 500 people are drawing.M.u.s.t. m.i.l.k. the fish.

Yeah, most people use either Firepay or Neteller. Both work fine for just about everybody I know.Oh, except one guy who had legally changed his name, he had some minor problem when his name didn't exactly match his social info or something weird, haha. But I don't think that's a typical problem. They keep coming up with other new ways to do stuff, but Neteller/Firepay are the norms. I'm a neteller fan, but probably just because I tried it first.

He didn't call the 5 an out, he said he had the 3, 8, or 4. And it was allin preflop. He knew what it took to win. So while a 4 woulda put 4 to a straight on the board he knew that QQ wouldn't have a straight there.

Hmm, when I posted my original thing I didn't see you had put at the top of your original the LAA and LPP (I'm used to just calling them LAGs but anyway). So yeah if he's a LAA the flop is like even more a no-brainer to raise, but stupid SB is supposed to fold then. His presence still makes your turn a fold IMO. Even if the LAA's turn bet is weird after his flatcalling your raise, I still don't think you can usually call (or raise) on the turn.So come now. Give us the damned results. Those who said what we thought have said it, I don't think you're going to get a lot more responses.

Interesting story. I read all of it. However, this comment at the bottom worries me. You wrote this whole story and lived it, and you still haven't learned how to manage your money. DO NOT play 5/10 by years end. That is way too fast. Especially for someone who won a lot then lost it all. Play smart. Don't treat this as primary income. Treat it as supplemental income. Play as a hobby. A hobby that just so happens to make you money.*ahem* If you read it all like you say, which I did also, then you should have read this.... He's saying he hopes to be in 5/10 by year end WHILE followi

To JFarrell20:Yeah, if a card flips up during a hand it's rarely considered a redeal in my (admittedly) limited live experience. I've had it happen at least 7-8 times during live hands. Every single time (except maybe 1) it was just shown to all the players and then you continue the hand.

how many hours do you play poker online every week?
MrConceit replied to Drum Infected's topic in General Poker Forum
It's hard for me to figure out how many hours I play seriously. I can tell you how many table hours I play easily enough. :)I've been lazy lately since I started to 4-table. You get in such an insane amount of hnds and table-hours. Like seriously, 3 hours of 4tabling gets in so many hands. I need to start forcing myself to do more literal hours again. It's like when I get over 500 hands if I'm up a reasonable amount I let myself quit playing serious stuff and go play fun new games at low limits (new for me). -
Yeah he outperforms me. I won't usually be getting more than 750 on pokernow per month I don't think. I'm not as dedicated as he is. :(Raketracker.com has calculators based on the limit you play and hands per day. Go test it to see what you'd probably get. But you have to have some kind of roughly accurate guess how many hands you play a day.If he plays 15/30 10man he needs to be doing 550 hands per day to be getting 1062.6 a month by their calculator. That of course assumes every single day of the month, so a bit higher if he takes days off. :)As another example, if you did the same a

I'm interested. How does the health insurance work?If you pay 200 a year to qualify for health insurance (and to be a professonal member), how much is insurance then? I actually emailed them asking for info on insurance and stuff like that, and they never emailed me back.Unless it got caught in my spam folder and I deleted it without knowing. Hmm.

Geez come on. Try seeing how he does on the tourney trail overall. WPT or any other big buyin events. Seeing how he does in the WSoP is flipping a coin. Last year was 2600, this year will be between 5-6k I'm hearing? 6k max cuz of seating? Moneymaker also did ok in a couple other tourneys in the past year. He's not amazing, but he proved he wasn't utterly a fluke. He got 2nd in that WPT right? And hasn't Raymer already done ok in some other tournaments since '04 WSoP? But regardless, I think it's silly to say that he has to kick butt in '05 WSoP to "prove" he's good. He's already done

Yeah same here, I hadn't seen this spoof. It was pretty amusing.I think I'll give anybody whining from now on this link, and tell them to go hang with people who feel as "they do".

On party and skins atm I'm Arrogance_UB (which I only play a little on) I think I'm TheStilez. If I'm playing for "real" on party, I'll be doing 15/30 limit hold'em. Otherwise you can find me anywhere. 2/3 table-tourneys and SnG omaha8 was a lot earlier tonight, and sometimes PL25 O high. It all depends. I'm gonna get back into stud semi-soon I think. As long as I get in like 500+ hands a day in 15/30 I let myself play misc other stuff for fun.

What I use now is a bit more automated and you can still choose what you want shown as far as stats.First get pokertracker at pokertracker.com, have it do liveupdates to the database as you play, then get playerview from playerview.net. Playerview will put various stats updated whenever you have tracker doing the updates from locally stored handhistories (this really only works with party and skins and perhaps UB).So basically next to each person's name I have it giving me vp$ip, preflop raise percent, and overall postflop aggression, along with how many hands I have on them. Unlike office i

Yeah, it's hard to imagine what some of them had. Obviously at least 1 flush draw, MAYBE 2? But what else? QJ, JT, QT? A gutshot for a capped flop? Nice.

luck vs. skill -- a statistical analysis
MrConceit replied to akishore's topic in General Poker Forum
Ouch, sorry guys. I didn't mean to start any old fights over. I was more thinking of some personal friends of mine. :)It's usually only kids (though not always of course) who try to jump into the trying-to-be-pro-thing too quickly. Most people have too many responsibilities to jump in really fast and quit their job."Yeah, so honey, I quit my job yesterday, and I'll be playing poker for a living, you can cover our mortage until I hit my stride right?" -
Yeah, party lets you do 4 tables at a time, so if you want to 8-table you have to have party and 1 skin open at the same time.

He has more than one out on the river, genius.I don't think he was claiming his flopped second set was quite as bad a beat as a runner runner gutshot SF that the first poster had. He was just illustrating a runner runner beat. Top pair vs second set will lose 96.77 percent of the time. Yeah, he picked up more outs on his perfect turn and now will only be losing 84 percent of the time. Wow, you're right, this most definitely wasn't a bad beat!Sorry justblaze, but come now. Just because it wasn't a 1 outer on the river... At least idiot 44 was allin in the first example, the other guy part
