  1. The whole location thing is overrated. Anybody who is a "good" colluder, as in good at it, puts in whatever location they want. The "pro cheaters" aren't going to give themselves away with anything that stupid. You can put in any location you want. And that is even aside from the fact that you don't have to collude with a guy from your home down. I guess I'm just saying the fact UB doesn't give location shouldn't be a big deal. Only the incompetents who aren't doing a very good job would ever be caught by that (such as incompetents who basically tell their table they're colluding, like
  2. A whole day that is one long downswing sucks, but that isn't quite one that won't let up. Wait until you have your first weeklong downswing (or worse). Then you'll come back and REALLY complain.
  3. I think he was trying to say that it was important (to him, not sure about you) to win pots of $200+ when you're a huge favorite to win.Shrug, Vid is quite on on this. The poster of this thread is being a child. We all feel that way when someone gives us a horrible beat, at least sometimes. But he's saying "HAH, I ALWAYS YELL AND ACT LIKE A RUDE DUMBSH1T, AND I LIKE IT!!1" Not that sometimes he can't help it, but he likes to do that. He couches it in fine terms about controlling his tilt (try controlling it through willpower?), and says the fish are so fishy that he won't improve them. B
  4. Ok! I have put money on stars and preregistered. May the best man win, haha.O8/b eh? We shall see!
  5. Yeah, the first time was utterly my bad. I mailed them again and they not only promptly mailed me, they gave me a forward of the first mail they had sent me. I felt stupid. :(It was going to my spam mailbox and I must have deleted the first one sent. I fixed that now.
  6. My gosh, you're right! 56s is like .001 EV higher, I forgot to check that when I redid my analysis! The win percent for 56 and 78 are the same, but the win percent for AA is ever so slightly lower against 56. The tie percent goes up a bit on 56s. :)And yeah, we all know sadly that AA is still the favorite.
  7. I second that, that was amazing in explaining all the typical stats wrto.On vip$ip...I do think though that there is more of a range in vp$ip than you listed though. A ton depends on how loose your table is. So many more things become playable in a loose table that isn't crazyaggressive. Also structure matters a bit, such as 3/6 blind structure of 1/3 blinds (which should make it a very tight game, though doesn't usually on party, hah), and in 15/30 the 2/3 (ratio) of blinds, 10/15. That makes it a much looser game, and more blind money to steal. SB has much more incentive to play. You s
  8. Laugh, so did you learn anything from this? Or did you enjoy the process of ups and downs and are gonna deposit another 25-50 to try the whole thing again?50 isn't enough to be "Bankrolled" in really any single thing you did the entire time. Nor is your top amount. But if it's just like extra money and you're just having a good time that's all good and it DOESN'T matter. You just put on another 25-50 some other time.It all depends what you're playing for I guess. If you want to play long-term you need to try to play within a bankroll, but if you're just having fun then you can do whatever y
  9. Your AQo you could have easily been gotten away from. The JJ not so much. But as far as the strategy goes, it can be valid, it depends on the makeup of your table. If somebody is always raising in mid or late if nobody else has raised (to steal or with semi-good hands), then it's a very valid strategy. But that said, it usually is better to wait until the blinds are larger to do this strategy. It doesn't tend to work as well early on.As far as playing against it: a lot has to be based on observations. You have to try to figure out who are the limp-reraisers who do it only with AA/KK and ma
  10. There is almost no way to avoid this hand once you got to the turn. And I like your flop play just fine in reality since it was HU unraised pot. You should probably do what you did on the flop. But yeah, once you were there on the turn, it's gonna be really hard to give up.My one criticism is why did you (and so many people) try to checkraise and slowplay suddenly when you turned trips? It's not like he's going to be putting you on the 9 when you bet out on the K9x flop. Just bet another normal bet, and see what he does. He called on the flop so you'd assume he had a King. Obviously in
  11. First off, he put that in his blog. As in the equivalent of his personal online diary. He didn't demand an interview with a newspaper or NBC and denounce it. He just stated he didn't think they were the 8 best in the world, and they should have said 8 OF the best. He's entitled both to think what he wants and say it.As far as the TOC goes, why is it a problem to try to get into a freeroll you think you deserve being in? He lobbied via posts and talking to some people to try to get in, and he succeeded. *shrug* He was the WSoP POTY and had been pretty hot (and finished the year off even
  12. Uh, dude, when you have second to nuts you WANT it to look like a bluff. You WANT to be called when you bet huge and it looks like a bluff.
  13. What site is this out of curiosity? I'm mainly asking because why are you able to see all the cards everybody received, and it shows it 1 card at a time. It just looks weird to my eyes. :)I'm assuming it's showing you everybody''s cards because this is the hand history from after the hand is done? It's just weird! I can't take it!
  14. That's funny, I was just talking about pacific on another thread. You can't beat pacific for the Fish per capita imo. The main downside is indeed the lack of multi-tabling. I also found it irritating to chat or look up hand histories while playing. But this was like, at a guess, over 6 months ago. So it might be easier now to do both.
  15. I always heard that UB had the best people overall from most of my higher rolling friends. But then I hear other places (like from some people on here) that stars is tougher.I dunno, I just always believed my friends that UB was pretty solid in play overall. I've only played multis and some triple-draw on UB myself though, never limit hold'em. These days I only do that on party. I've done other sites in the past, like pokerroom and pacific, but not lately.Pacific has some of the largest fish anywhere, on all limits I tried. But the crappy client and inability to multi-table makes it a no-
  16. So, Pokerroom.com runs directly in OSX and you don't have to have virtual PC to run it?Pokerroom.com's CLIENT only runs in windows, the downloadable client. BUT it has a javaclient that looks exactly the same (or did when I played there a year ago), and is pretty damned fast for a java client. That's why macs or anybody else can use pokerroom.com, as long as you can use a browser that can use java it works fine.
  17. I don't really agree with most of these guys. You have 7x BB. AQ suited is probably your best bet, after blinds you're down to 5.5 BB. I'm ok with folding, but I don't agree that's the only play as half the people here posting seem to be saying. When you're low stack at the table, as he said he is, you have to take some chances, and try to double. AQc is a fine hand to take a chance on.And finally, why do you think limping in weak actually WORKS sometimes? Because people like Awful says it'd never be done here. As if the play in 100+9s are that different. HAH! I've played plenty as have
  18. Now while I do realize (or think I realize) your post in mostly in jest and/or good fun... Your statement simply isn't correct. It is one of the best hands, but it's behind two other hands (vs AA).http://tinyurl.com/6zp3pcards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EVAs Ac 1319754 77.07 387069 22.61 5481 0.32 0.772Th 9h 387069 22.61 1319754 77.07 5481 0.32 0.228http://tinyurl.com/3muoucards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EVAs Ac 1315602 76.83 391672 22.87 5030 0.29 0.7708h 7h 391672 22.87 1315602 7
  19. Hmm, just checked on amazon and apparently it's down to like 72 bucks for WPT Season 1 on DVD. But it says it should only be bought in USA/Canada because of DVD encoding issues and it probably won't work in other countries, no clue if this is utterly correct or not.But it's weird, it's listing Season 2 (not yet released) as only gonna be 42 bucks. Quite strange.Link:http://tinyurl.com/6yz5f
  20. Don't bother Ivey, man. This is the WE-LOVE-TILT thread. Many many people agree with you, but not the people gushing in this thread. But they're entitled to watch overdramatized trash if they're having a good time watching it. Lots of people like pro-wrestling too, who cares.By the by, I don't hate it because it's so obviously fake, I hate it for the poor scripting, the horrible acting (by all but 1 or 2 people), and most of all the extremely bad overdamatization. But again, this is the WE-LOVE-TILT thread, so I won't post here anymore.ps. I still want the hour back of my life that I waste
  21. Where do you find this in tracker for yourself?I'm looser than most of you, though bringing it down some. I'm around 26 vp$ip in 20k hands. I used to be 27. Though 2/3 instead of 1/2 blind structures bring you up a bit typically.
  22. First off, she made a bad play as she made top set on the flop but let you and the other player have free draws (no reraise?).Looks like you were first to act so your bet seems fine to me; based on the betting pattern, there's no way I would have known she had pocket K's In general,a) I like to check the flop but after the turn bet out; I might check the turn too if say I have a boat and there are flush/straight draws out there. You want someone to hit the flush/straight.B) I probably would check it and then bet on the riverc) If I'm first to act, I would bet it - you're really hoping for a
  23. I only quoted the end, but that was a great post Awful. And I know the thread is about NL, but I second Smasharoo's saying. That's how I tend to play things in limit. Especially with flopped trips. Nobody believes you play flopped trips fast -- ever. By trips, I do mean trips, not a set. Not that I don't play sets fast too, but it's the board pair flops that nobody believes you would ever play fast.
  24. I'm actually kind of curious. Why did you bother to try to go for a checkraise on the turn? On the flop people just passively called your bet. Why did you think they'd suddenly wake up to bet? Granted someone did (who oddly called bets on a gutshot on the flop), but why would you assume they would? All you potentially do (imo) is let somebody who picked up a flush draw or straight draw possibly get a free card. It's not like anybody raised you on the flop. Your single bet on the flop made the preflop raiser fold.
  25. Yeah, one of my friends, just to be a d1ck sat down on a .01/.02 table with 12k. Oh this was on UB.And some guy at my 15/30 table on Party (normal buyin is like 750 up to maybe 1.5k), after he lost a while, rebought for 55k. Guess he just felt like assuring us he was properly bankrolled.
