  1. NOpe I'd have recognized Maureen. I know people have talked about her hat. I am almost sure the story is she's an heiress that loves poker but is a total fish and people fight to get on the table with her... but I may be wrong. As for whether you can go up there, I stood on the top of the stairs to watch (there are actually TWO ways in/out, one on each end) and wasn't questioned at all. I stood there for at least 15 minutes.Still, you can't see anything from there, other than the players eating 5-star meals served on full set-ups (real china, real silver, etc.). Can't see the action at all, rea
  2. Most do. Some are unlimited, others have just one.The freezeout at Mandalay bay and Luxor do NOT have rebuys but BELIVE ME they are TOTAL CRAPSHOOTS at first. You get only $300 in chips with blinds $15/30 and LIMIT play for the first hour.I play the 1-rebuy tourneys, the Rio game was great, but Sahara has a nice one also.
  3. Oh I'd take the money but I'd be honest that I only have winning sessions about 50% of the time and when I lose I usually lose more $$ in those sessions than I win in the winning ones :)My problem, I think, is my agressive style lends to bigger swings, and I don't have the session bankroll to overcome the downswings. I really honestly think that if I could buyin to a $300 NL buyin game with 2/5 blinds and have $500-600 for rebuys that I could have winning sessions 70% of the time. It's always that ONE BAD READ that kills me (like when I have KJ in an unraised pot and flop has a J and the guy c
  4. I swear I've seen stories about her. She's like 93 years old and is always dressed up like Miss Daisy... hat and all...She was in the "upper" section at Bellagio last Friday and it's driving me nuts to remember who she is and what her story is.Also I saw Jennifer Harmon in the "big game" and I'm pretty sure it was Phil Ivey to her right but he never really turned around enough.Jennifer is much cuter in person than on TV, that's for sure
  5. I just got back and played at the new RIO room.Hey have a daily (even weekends!) 12 noon tourney.$40 buyin ($30 to prizepool) gets 1500 chips, they have ONE rebuy for $40 (all to prizepool) for another 1500 chips. They have a max of 60 players but it's been in the 40 player range. So as of now, get there by 11;30 and you should be good. The card manager, Michael, is a GREAT guy, he REALLY loves the game and loves running this new room. This is by far the best-run tourney I've seen in Vegas, even better than the Orleans tourney. The only suggestion I'd make is they need a display of the timing/bli
  6. This must be the infamous "scanner" that all the fake-money people like to talk about...Seriously, I play fake money on a site for a day or so, just to get the feel of the software/interface. When I did it on PP, I must have had a dozen people say, "hey how'd you know what I had? You must have a SCANNER!".At first I had no idea but after a while I just answered, "yeah I spent the last 5 years, 80 hours a week with 100 other friends developing a software that tells me what everyone else has, so I can come on PP and play on the fake money tables!"
  7. Yeah it's a horrible disaster but it's not like this attraction was created BECAUSE of it.This may sound mean but we spend WAAY too much time walking on eggshells and trying to not offend anyone.
  8. QUOTE FROM THE WEBSITE:My entire ...guide is the result of over 20 YEARS of countless hours of hard work...Wow? Really? Looks like he was playing Poker Online even before Al Gore invented the internet!!!
  9. You, sir are a total idiot.Try reading just about any professional's book, or asking any pro the best way to combat a player that is better than you... and they'll tell you it's the "slider technique". Because you have no other chance.I had a guy at a final table once, in a B&M Tourney.. came down to the 2 of us and he had a 2 to 1 chip lead on me and he says, "I'll give you ONE chance to chop, it's your only chance."I said, "Nope, I played this long to get 1st place, not to split the winnings".He then continued to all in about every other hand, it was either fold or all in.About 20 hands
  10. Heh, so far Supersystem II has cost me around $92I'm at 9100 points... and I'm not a horrible player... but you know if you have AQ versus my AK then make sure you bet because 100% chance you'll hit your Queen. And I'm not joking!Seriously, though, I changed my profile at Doyle's Room to say "if you have a 2 outer against me then CALL, you'll get it!"
  11. Actually my 2nd in about a year...Last hand of a 10-seat single-table tourney... I'm massive chip leader 16,000 to 2000 chips. I raise preflop and put the dude all in, he calls with K4 diamonds.I have AQ spades... Flop brought the 10 and J spadesRiver brought the K spades!!A little overkill since my Ace held up anyway, but still pretty cool.Bummer thing? I won .45 (45 cents) for winning this tourney.Yeah I was just fooling around on a 10-cent SnG on Doyle's Room, getting the feel of the play there. That's my 2nd Royal ever... first one was playing 7-Stud with the wife at our kitchen table... FI
  12. Think of it this way:He KNEW you were the better player and knew that the only way to beat you was to luck out on you.Which he did.No biggie, it happens!
  13. ???Wait, you had QJFlopQJJ (giving you Jacks full of Queens and him 2 pair, queens and jacks).Turn? we dont' konw but obviously not an issue.River is a J. That gives him Jacks full of queens... BUT YOU NOW HAVE FOUR JACKS!).If you mistyped and the river came a Q then yeah it was a split.
  14. Situation 1:AA pocket UTG, 3rd hand of tourney. Raise 4xBB, fold to BB who calls.Flop is K 7 4 rainbow.I bet 2x the pot, BB raises, I call.Turn is 10. I bet pot, BB raises putting me all-in. I call, he has 10 7 offsuit.COME ON if you're gonna beat me, at least call with K10 suited preflop, not 10/7 off!! And for heaven's sake, don't raise post flop with 2nd pair!Pitiful Play Rewarded.Situation 2:AA from the BB. Middle position raises 3xBB, 2 callers, I go all-in. Middle position calls everyone else folds. He turns up A4 offsuit.Flop A/10/2Turn 3River 5I'm out. Ace rags kills me again.Situation
  15. LOL playing at a bar, I expect a guy to call with Ace-rags...And though I complain, I was HOPING he was. My point, though.. is that when I make plays like this KNOWING someone has ace-rags (or at least, knowing they'd call with ace-rags)... I ALWAYS get outdrawn by the 3 outer.I'm not whining, just telling the facts... it NEVER FAILS. At least 80% of the time (no exaggerating!) the dude hits his 3 outer.
  16. Nah I can't see him calling the raise on the turn with AA, even if the chance that Chan had a 3 in his hand was slim. Remember he didn't want to get into any pots with Chan and even said he was going to AVOID them.
  17. LOL we posted threads at the same time....I have to disagree with you... even if Daniel "can't" put Chan on a 3, I doubt he'd risk it "just in case". I really believe Daniel had the best hand on the flop... read my full thoughts here:http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...topic.php?t=678
  18. Reading his journal and he wouldn't let us know his hole cards... obviously anything in this thread would have to be speculation and I do not expect Daniel to confirm/deny any guesses. But I thought it would be fun to take some guesses...Ok, so Daniel is on the button, I assume everyone folded to him. Chan is BB.Daniel is raising, and a little higher than normal. That means he has:Ax, or Kx, or Qx, or Jx or 10x or 9x or 8x or 7x or 6x or 5x or 4x or 3x or 2x, and any could be suited or not. ;)I, however (at this point) would put him on a small pair or Ax suited since it didn't seem like he wan
  19. ANyone read Bluff magazine's 2nd issue? There's an article about a dealer (the guy who dealt the final table at the WSOP) who also deals private home games and "some of the biggest games in the world".He get chauffered around to his events in a Limo.I doubt he gets a "couple dollar" tip every hand...
  20. I don't mind bad beats... it's part of poker BUT when someone makes a HORRIBLE play and is rewarded, that really peeves me!300 player online at UB, $10 buyin. I'm sitting at average chips (about 8000) with 75 players left (I think it paid to 60).I'm on BB. Miracle! I have AsAh (my favorite 2 Aces, I even have a tattoo of them on my shoulder!)Everyone folds to a middle position guy, who raises to 1200. He has about 14k chips. Everyone folds to me, I raise to 3000.Note: My thought on this is I was prepared to take a risk for a full double-up to be set up well to go deep into the money. Early in
  21. Last night at a live tourney at a local bar, I'm playing extremely well but running into huge hands all night. Started with 1k chips, down to 400, back to 1800, down to 500, etc.Blinds are 100/200, I'm on the BB with 675 chips.UTG calls, next player calls, fold to the button who calls, SB calls. 1000 chips in the pot (including my 200), limpers and I look down to A10 suited. It's an automatic all-in, 475 more chips to possibly take down the pot right there (1000), if called I still have a good chance to take down another 475.UTG calls quickly, with 3 people behind him. All three pain their deci
  22. Yep, exactly... I'm not mad or disappointed in D at all. Maybe a little dumbfounded.I also very much appreciate his situation, and really enjoy reading what he has to say, whether it's negative or positive. It is really interesting to read about what the "pros" think about.So.... Daniel has realized his problem... I'd like to see him come up with a solution! I always say not to complain about your situation unless you are prepared to fix it.So, Daniel... how can you get more excited about these "smaller" tourneys?I don't have any suggestions since I can't put myself in your shoes. I'm currentl
  23. Daniel if you read this please take it as intended... as a picker-upper.You mentioned that you just can't "get into" the smaller tourneys. Please take a moment to look back at before you were a pro or even when you first started out... when a $1000 buyin (or even $5000) was HUGE money to you.Yeah, I know you've won/lost millions in a day or a week. But forget about that for now.Being successful means winning the small battles, consistantly! You can't be successful by winning only one "big one" a year!In all honesty I get a little upset seeing you (from our perspective) "pi$$ing away" your buyin
