  1. I approve. As you said, Aces probably dead, no hope of thinning the field, side cards suck.Anyone who actually limped would just be limping because AA is pretty, not because it was a sound decision. To the guy who advocated limping hoping to hit the 79 part of the hand, give me a break. In your dream scenario you flop the nut high, are vulnerable to redraws, and still only win half the pot.
  2. hahahaha, when the dollar amount is in parenthases () it refers to the size of the big blind. When its not it refers to the size of the max buy in - normally 100x the big blind. PLO8 ($50) = PLO8 $5000. Didnt the $776 average pot size tip you off at all? Or the 26 PTBB/100? You can actually go ahead and be impressed though, 26 PTBB/100 IS pretty great (especially at that level), although thats a dinky sample size.Dont be too amazed by his results though, as I recall he mentioned something about losing some massive amount of money in december.
  3. hahaha, this thread is so stupid it makes my brain hurt1) calling 15k in tourney chips 15k is stupid. This hand probably cost you like $10 in tourney equity tops2) acting like a bad beat post is a real post is stupid3) complaining about/disaproving of the inevitable awful play in a donkament is stupid. Go count your sklansky bucksand to all you others4) taking an obvious troll at his word and challenging him to HU SNGs is super stupid, I can just see you guys getting all worked up when somebody posts "this is andy Beal, and I challenge any of you to a best of 7 thumb wrestling match for a bill
  4. Are we assuming that he will call with anything A and lower and that he will value bet when checked to with an 8 or lower and that he MAY bluff if he pairs up? if this is the case then you have to bet, heres whyyou lose the same amount either way when he makes his 8 since youd have to call a bet on the river. There are 16 cards J-A (minus any you discarded) that will make you an extra bet if you lead out. There are four 9s that will cost you a bet, and we'll count two of the three remaing Ts (because its possible youre drawing smoother than he is). Thats a net of ten cards in favor of betting
  5. I totally disagree. IMO 2-7 TD is more mechanical than 5CD, and they play 27TD all the time. Honestly, I dont understand why 5CD has gone out of vogue. I was going to say that they dont play it in the big game because it doesnt really involve hand reading the way other games do, but thats true of triple draw too.As for this: "It is just to simple and automatic a game" Im assuming you are speaking out of ignorance here. Do you actually play 5CD online? It is no more simple or automatic than any other game commonly played. Perhaps you are confusing it with 5 card stud.
  6. Correct me if im wrong, but didnt you advocate (or at least state that you have no problem with) frequent screenname changes? Ive got no problem with people knowing who I am, but I think that the whole datamining/public name/name changing thing is a big grey area. "people who post on strategy forums but refuse to reveal their screenames at the sites are huge douches." is really only correct because people who post on strategy forums just tend to be huge douches... until they get banned.
  7. Gotta just call the turn, for the following reasons:1) Your outs are nut outs, so it really doesnt hurt to have other players in there with you.2) You say BB is horrible and will call you down light. You get it all in on this turn, and he calls you with a set or two play, you just made his play correct (maybe not correct, but more correct). Why gamble with him now if hell pay you offf on the river when you have it for sure?3) Youll have position on the other two, and the pot is just about exactly the right size (i.e. you can get the rest in on a good river)
  8. Normally everything Daniel writes just clicks for me, but this didnt sound right. If someone (hopefully Daniel) can explain/defend what he wrote Id appreciate it.Daniel wrote: as for #1) Isnt this true of any 9, J, Q, A or spade. In other words, half the deck? (yeah ok, the 9 isnt as scary but its not like the Jd was a particularly scary card given the circumstances)and as for #2) what hand that bet this flop and would bet the turn did you just lose action from? basically just AT right? AK, AA, and TT will all still be giving you action. QK and QQ just made an outside straight draw, and JJ j
