  1. I used to be scared to move up in limits, but i got over it. Basically, if you honestly feel you have the skill level to win at higher limits, whether it be 100NL or 200NL, then you should man up, got over the fear of negative variance, and move up to one of those 2 limits, if not now, then soon. Because inevitably in your poker career, you are going to eventually move up in limits. Might as well get over that fear as soon as possible.
  2. I am at $42,110. Won about 3.5K yesterday in 2 hours and a quick 300 today playing Maf54 heads up. Its time to get massssssssssively high.UPSSSSSStrong 9 out

  4. If you go read Barry Greensteins analysis of him, it basically says that if he had top pair and was beat, he was going broke. the game has changed so so much in the last 20 years that there is 0% chance he could have those kind of results now. Back then, everyone was weak tight and played very straightforward. Ungars style worked then because everyone sucked. simple as that. if he played now, people would not lay down like they did back in the day. From what I have read in different articles, Ungar was a basically the fish in high stakes cash games. So basically, the only thing he did a
  5. Stu Ungar is the most overrated poker player of all time. i will argue to the death with anyone that wants to.
  6. i dont think he made a bad play. in his mind i could stack off with a jack or worse. also, he is defintely one of the better players at 5 10 NL. having QQ to KK here is a pretty big cooler in my mind.
  7. reraise big preflop, then bet the pot on the flop. no half the pot crap.
  8. alot of depends on the villain as usual. does he call light? does he pull the river Check Raise? whats his view of you? a question like this is more game flow and knowing your opponent rather then strategy.
  9. had a gross session yesterday. luckily only lost a grand overall, although i was up a grand at one point so i had a 2 grand downswing. i played some guy heads up and we got all in twice preflop, each being a 1K pot, QQ<J10, 10 10 <KJ. I hope to get my rakeback from May soon to ease the pain, as its around 650$. i just want to get over 40K and stay there. Is that toooo much to ask??Bankroll-$38,500
  10. well i deposited 1K in the middle of February and worked up. 25 50, 50 1, 1 2, 2 4, and now 5 10. i skipped 3 6 because it felt odd. i just started playing 5 10 NL about a week ago. its beginning to feel more normal, although i still feel gross when i lose 1K on a single hand. my initial plan was to get to 40K and then cash out 20K to invest in stuff. im not sure if i still am going to do that. i don't think i will go beyond 5 10 unless its 10 20 and the game is good, which i have already done at times. i think 20 buy ins is minimum for a level, especially SH and HE as variance is huge
  11. damn Naismith, how DID you know??? results are the villain had QQ and KK held in a 3K pot. i still think this is a very tough spot, and QQ is literally the only hand we dominate at the moment, maybe like AJ suited as well. guys watch out for Naismith though. Even before i had called his all in, he IMed me and insisted that I should call with my KK to beat his QQ. ladies and gentleman, that is one world class read.
  12. no offense, but this is absolutely not true at SH or HE. 3 betting ranges are almost as wide, if not as wide, as opening raises. Just because someone 3 bets does not at all mean they have a hand worthy of AIPF. this is not meant to be a brag, but here is a hand where i 3 bet preflop and bet flop and turn with absolutely nothing.http://www.pokerhand.org/?1161206i posted this hand just now to demonstrate how light 3 betting is. so saying 3 betting=calling AIPF is just flat out wrong at SH and HU.
  13. why werent you deeper? having 75BB and and calling off 12.5BB preflop with 9 10 clubs just seems like gambling to me. to make this call, i feel you should have at least 100BB, if not more.
  14. haha, alright. its just that my long heads up match with him as well as my current table image probably would lead him to think that i WOULD call a 4 bet with a PP or SCs. i have 150BB at beginning of hand and he has me covered. if he really wants to win a big pot, shouldn't he start getting as much $ as he can in preflop against a lag fish like me?
  15. im at $39,560, so i won around $4,500 this past week. this isn't much for 5 10 NL which I have been playing. hopefully i can get to $42,000 this week then stop for the day and smoke a massive amount of weed.UPS
  16. thats what he should do....but chances are he is terrible like 95% of people who play 50NL and got "tricky" and slowplayed. this guy is defintely not flat out bluffing, its either a hand that has you beat on the flop or a hand that picked up a lot of outs on the turn. I agree with others that him raising with someone left to act behind him is a very strong move. I guess i fold, this is one of the reasons i like 6 max and heads up better as there are less coolers and tough spots like these.
  17. If you are heads up against a very loose player when you are both semi deep, wouldn't you 4 bet AA out of position?
  18. i am still learning pokertracker, but the stats are 24.3/14.1/1.4. also, when i say hes a good player, at 5 10 NL shorthanded, that does not mean he is nittish. it means the exact opposite. From my experiences in the last week playing 5 10 NL compared to 2 4 NL that i used to play, i would say 5 10 NL is a lot more laggish and 3 betting from good regulars. My image is very loose by the way, and i am positive he views me as very loose since we played heads up for a while a couple days ago and he witnessed how i play heads up. also, to acid knight, the raise might seem large, but i pressed be
  19. the villain in the hand is a very good regular, and won about a grand off me 2 days ago at heads up 5 10 NL. i feel his range is pretty narrow here. what do people like here?Full Tilt PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $5/$106 playersConverterSB: $2,643.60BB: $1,542.00UTG: $2,429.70MP: $1,047.00CO: $200.00Hero (BTN): $1,465.00Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with UTG raises to $35, 2 folds, Hero raises to $120, 2 folds, UTG calls.Flop: :D ($255, 2 players)UTG checks, Hero bets $225, UTG raises all-in $2309.7, hero...........
  20. it really all depends on who the opponent is and what your image is. thats it.
