thats definitely a big part of it. if you have that huge LAG image no one is going to go out of their way to bully you at the table. i just dont think people would be that dumb to play AA or KK this way. and maybe he doesnt want to get outplayed preflop so he sticks it in with AQ, AJ. in my mind, we are either a coinflip or 3 to 1 favorite here. i call and rebuy if i lose.
-
what you said is what enters a good players thought process. 95% of people suck especially at 50 NL, and its pretty good to give him rope here. if you think all he has is a king, then you played the hand good. you knew he would fail to realize you were slowplaying and it worked out. what you did here will more often work at 50NL and below. when you get to higher limits, you might want to play more straightfoward because that in a way, disguises your hand vs good players.

i think he very rarely has AA or KK. but i also love getting all in preflop with AK. call it a weakness.i think its 99 or AQ most often
-
to not reraise this preflop is badhaha, im a donk, so i would callllllllllllseriously, i would thoughthis is where not losing a buy in can help your psyche
-
yeah definite shove for sure. i said that earlier because its sweet if you can make him lay down an overpair

so 5 days into june, and i went from 35K all the way down to at one point 28K. now im back at 35K. i must have aged at least 3 years in the last 5 or 6 days. hopefuly i can get to 40K by the end of this week.

i understand what your saying jordan, that might have come across as result based. but what i really mean is that i had already been thinking about moving up in limits since i am rolled for it even before the downswing. the downswing made me act upon it. i did initially lose at 5 10 too, its not like i went up and quickly made back 4K. i played over 20 hours this past weekend at 5 10 NL 2 tabling. So i dont think it was anything that rash.

i think your folding equity is decent. the question is, do you think he mucks 10 10 to AA if you move all in?
-
on this hand this is true. But on different board textures and depending on position and who is the preflop raiser, and who else is in the pot and their playing style, slowplaying can defintely work better then fastplaying. If you have a read on some guy that he folds to strength but bluffs into weakness, why not let him bet?
-
I disagree when people say stuff like this. Nothing is universal in poker. While here it is better to bet out top 2, there are times to slowplay as well as there are times to fastplay. However in this hand, its 100% better to fastplay simply because anyone with an Ace or possibly a Queen for sure calls. someone could also think you are con betting and try a heroic bluff.

i agree with thisi defintely check turn, but if i do bet, im not folding

Flopped Nuts With Redraw Extracting Max Value

?? are you serious?? -
Gayeled do you play on FT? because the biggest thing that i do in terms of game selection is i have a note on the top regulars and try to avoid any tables that have 2 or more of them.also, whats your screename if you do play there? i wonder if i have played you before

wow forget what i said earlier. part of the reason i was still stuck at 2 4 NL was because i didnt think i could stomach losing more then 400 on a single hand. well after hitting a 2nd huge downswing in the last week and losing 3.5K, i decided to move up to 5 10 NL. now this might seem dumb, but i am technically rolled for it since i had 31K when i did this, and i was not steaming. so basically the point of what i am trying to say is that emotions and personal comfort play a big part in how much you are willing to risk. Even with my downswing over and me being back over 35K, i am still goi

i think that its natural and okay to get angry when you get outdrawn. as you keep playing, you will realize that this is part of the game and cannot be avoided. G Bucks and S dollars are the key. What you should focus on is getting your $ in good, not whether you lose or win the hand. Also, getting angry after getting outdrawn and tilting are two separate things. It IS possible to be pissed after taking a an outdraw on the river and still play your A game. Just keep your poker thoughts separate from your emotions in this time period.

Only Tough Hand In A Short Session
Roberts2003 replied to Naismith's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
you saying this prefectly backs up my theory that i posted in a thread a couple days ago on how just calling would somehow lead to a scare card coming more on the turn often then if we raised and the other guy calls. i dont no if you are being serious or not, but many people truthfully think this way. -
and yet...he had KJ haha. yes he 3 bet min raised preflop, and then hit trips vs trips. after the hand he told me he outplayed me. he then proceeded to lose over 1500$ at 2 4 NL in the next hour.

I know that the standard rule is 20 buy ins. but especially for SH and HU, does anyone agree that you need at least 50 buy ins, if not more?? i guess it also depends on peoples feelings on going broke. for myself, i have built up way way too much to ever risk a large portion of my roll in a game. right now, i am currently playing a limit that i have 90 buy ins with, and it feels great not to worry about losing 1 buy in.

OP i disagree with everyone here on this topic, and like the way you played it. Just because you have a big hand preflop does not automatically mean you 3 bet preflop. while i understand the issues that people are saying, the fact that he has such a tight image and thinks the guy will lay down to a 3 preflop bet is a huge factor. that being said, 3 betting is not bad at all. its just that you chose a different route and ill commend you for trying to thinking outside the box.also, i think this hand shows why having a looser image is that much better. with a loose image, you 3 bet here and

I Hate Short Buy In Games
Roberts2003 replied to linkwood's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
i would almost always jam here unless you think he has a 6. most people will fold any pocket pair here besides 66 KK AA obviously. you also beat any flush draw that check raises, and are almost even $ vs Kx. all in all, its jam jam jam time. -
Big Hands In Big Pots? (sh) (5/10)
Roberts2003 replied to CobaltBlue's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
if you think he plays J9 and JK this way, then easy call. its all reads. this is a fold in a vacuum as jordan would say, but if you have a good feel on the guy, call call call. also, if you think he doesnt play a Queen or A10 like this, i agree. -
he had AAgood fold

I would call myself an extremely experienced NL Hold Em player. That being said, I have rarely played Omaha and when i do, i usually dont play long. I have some general questions for those of you that do play omaha1.) When did you start? What game did you learn first?2.) How do the odds change?3.) Why play omaha rather then NL Hold Em?4.) Any good books for Omaha?5.) Does NL strategy apply at all to Omaha?I want to eventually learn how to play this game good, but i want to gather some info first. Feel free to write anything extra too that doesnt apply to those questions.Strong 9 out
