Anyone know Daniel's starting day for the ME?

I'm heading to Tahoe next weekend, and was hoping to get into one or two hold'em tourneys. Does anyone know of a decent list of regular offerings at the various casinos? Thanks in advance... A E

Played well, WVU...maybe a bit aggressive with a pair, but he was a big stack so he could have been bluffing. Nice finish... A E

Not sure if it's over, but I'd assume so. Is there a place where the results are posted?Congrats to all who won. Was going well for a while, but never could get anything going consistently. A E

seat 2 group 8 qualifier--apologies
Vidgames replied to Vidgames's topic in Daniel Negreanu's Poker Protege
Thanks...I appreciate the feedback. It was painful to go through--that feelign that you can't really help yourself at all--but I was concerned that it was making it harder for those at the table.Unbelievably, when the connection settled out I still had enough chips to work with and won all but one of my coin flips to jump to second place at the final table, but was getting blinded off not wanting to play too many hands, ended up getting sucked out on once to drop to short stack at 10K and then lost an all-in with K-9 against K-Q to go out in 6th. Of course, right after, hindsight told me what -
I'd like to again (because I'm not sure how many of my apologies at the table were seen) apologize for all the connection problems I had during tonight's qualifier. I was getting a bit frantic that I kept dropping out, especially in the middle of hands at times, and as a result made some drastic bets that forced other people's hands. That aside, I'm sure it was annoying to have to repeatedly wait for my action when I wasn't connected. A E

I'm curious where you guys feel there are more fish for hold'em play. I realize there are other variables (limit vs. NL, table spread) and considerations (increased number of hands per hour online, spotting tells in a casino and the all-important "I don't feel like wearing pants today, so I'll play online"), but I'm looking for an overall perspective. Where do you feel you're more likely to make better money?Discuss amongst you... A E

It's important when posting to a message board to use tags, such as [sarcasm]"Doyle Brunson got lucky playing 10-2 off, but when you play it, I'm in awe."[/sarcasm] A E -

Without knowing all the circumstances (are you profitable as a poker player? why does she want you to quit poker? are your family/friends also down on you about poker, and why?), it seems to me that you're making a sacrifice instead of a compromise. Sacrifice can be for the best (if you're a losing poker player and everyone sees you continuing as self-destructive), but I can't tell if that's the case here. The concern to me is the part "...and then when you go broke, you have no one there to pick you up off the ground." Again, without knowing all the facts, it's hard to give advice, but this so -

That's pretty much what I was going to say to him.Additionally, I'd start by asking why it bothers her, on the hopes that she'll think it's a sure losing situation or that she'll end up getting her legs broken by someone named Guido. If she's reasonable (and you're reasonable that poker isn't taking up too high a percentage of your time, unless you've made it a career), she'll take your explanation for it and give it a chance. If you play a lot of poker and/or lose a lot of money (or even take wild swings), you and this girl are probably doomed, because you'll never convince her it's not going -
seat #2: fcp poker forum junkies
Vidgames replied to Governator's topic in Daniel Negreanu's Poker Protege
Checking on the issuance of tickets toward the Seat 2 tourneys. I got the e-mail a while ago, but with the first tourney being a week from now, I'm curious if the tickets went out yet, because I don't have anything for Seat 2 on my account page.Thanks... A E -
Bingo! (Wow, I guess that's kind of a mixed metaphor in a poker forum.)Thanks...I want to refer to it now that I'm making a bigger push to build a bankroll, and I have some friends who I wanted to send there as well.Ooh, hope you're not offended by the "good information, not necessarily well written" comment I made. I guess you'll be blocking my IP from your site now, eh? :? A E

classless "play" leads to loss of a big pot...
Vidgames replied to CardWarfare's topic in General Poker Forum
Congrats on the positive result. It sounds like the best possible outcome--and better if you do well in your personal freeroll. (hehe)And as a postscript of my own, my comment that I didn't think it was against the rules has obviously been shown to be incorrect. Outside of the flaming that surely comes with any message boards, I still manage to learn enough to make visiting worthwhile. Thanks to all that contribute their knowledge. A E -
I can't seem to find the bookmark, but I remember there's a really good blog (good information, not necessarily well written) that details a rotation of cardrooms and bonuses you can hit to build a bankroll. Of course, there are a bunch of such sites, but I'm trying to find this one blog. Any help? Thanks in advance... A E

Oh, I don't think you should be shy about naming the place and the guy, so none of us have to risk suffering that same kind of stunt. A E -

Nah, I wouldn't risk getting myself in that kind of trouble (well, unless you can do it without getting caught), but my angle on it would be the fact that the guy works there. Make a big stink with the manager and maybe even get loud (not foul, but make sure that other customers hear what you're saying), arguing that if this is the kind of employees he hires, who'll pull scummy moves like this, you aren't going to bring your money there again. If the manager is smart (and you can nudge him harder with something like, "I'll make sure all my friends and anyone who plays poker that I know...and I -
I'd suggest you cut the person some slack. It's my guess that the job of "blogging" a WSOP event is a mix of running around from table to table, getting updates and chip counts from the tourney staff, then blasting quick posts for long hours, day after day. Not much fun and not much relaxation, let alone no scorecard to make sure you spell names right. Yes, Dewey Tomko is one of the better known players, but perhaps the "live update" writer isn't up on the spelling of everyone's name at every table. Besides, I doubt there's a lot of pay in the job, so it's probably not a real poker-world vet s

a stacked preview from teamxbox.com
Vidgames replied to DanielNegreanu's topic in General Poker Forum
I was told recently (when the game was demo'ed for me a couple of weeks ago) that the console and PC releases are targeted for September with the PSP version a month later. Ads in magazines were printed about three or four months ago, when June was the target date. And I just did an overview of most of the poker video games for Deal Magazine recently, and Stacked looks like it'll kick butt over nearly all of them. It's a mix of Poker Academy's tech (which is Poki also) with modern-style 3-D graphics.BTW, I expect my preview of the game will be up on Yahoo! Games/Games Domain soon (http://games -
