  1. Buddakan is awesome, by the way.http://menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp...amp;cuisineid=0
  2. Lol, yeah, this was not the best way to play jacks here. Keep pounding that guy though and he'll probably give it all back to you in the end.
  3. Right... Molson... I should have remembered Molson.
  4. What's "Canadian Food"? Is it more than just roasted moose and pine needles?
  5. Um, so if someone, hypothetically, wanted to kidnap Elton John and hold him for ransom, what time would be the best time of day to do so?
  6. They are actually not that hard to find out about, if you know where to look. I know of and play at several. Your second point is right on at least as concerns myself. If someone lives in the city and I've met them and know them I would take them with me when I went. Otherwise I would just keep my mouth shut. 2006 was a shitty year for poker in New York, and IMO it's because too many people had big mouths and deep pockets.
  7. Drew Barrymore left Eric Bana and now he's Jack King off.
  8. Lol at anyone who responds to Trinity. On any thread. Especially the ones he starts.
  9. I always raise here. First because it gives you the possibility of taking down the pot right away. But also, usually you'll have a choice on the turn of either firing out another bullet or checking for a free river assuming you brick. You have to assume he'll fire again at a lot of turns so you're better off being aggressive early and giving yourself the option of taking a free card later.
  10. Just beat Hard with the maze below.
  11. Purposely miscalling your hand is an angle shoot.EDIT: By the way, never muck your cards until you can plainly see that someone has tabled a hand that beats yours. If you aren't sure, table your cards. People are so obsessed with not letting other people see their hands that they become idiots and muck winning hands.
  12. I like just calling here. Good chance he's drawing dead with nothing but an ace here. Let him hang himself on the river, which, based on your read, seems like a definite possibility.
  13. Why not just put him in on the turn? Good chance he's drawing and we may as well make him pay for it if he is. As played I also call that river getting 3-1.
  14. "No F---ing Way" Game... I rarely call these, but it's starting to get interesting...
  15. He only has half a stack anyway. Not exactly great implied odds. Are you searching for some kind of cosmic justification for timing out?
  16. I feel like with a push on the river we get stacked more often than we get called by a hand we beat. My inclination is to bet an amount that gives him a good price to call with nothing but a Q and a good kicker. I feel like here we get more value over the long run betting an amount we know he can call with a worse hand rather than risking our whole stack with just an overpair in a situation where most of the calls we do get beat us.
  17. IIRC - had to google this one a while back and it pops up every now and then.
  18. No help from the Phoenicians? FWIW I put a flier down on the Suns +145 and then threw together a small parlay Suns +3.5 and Cavs -5. I'm a horrible sports bettor so gg Suns.
  19. Everyone is interested in looking at your hand histories. Pick some interesting ones and post them in the strat forum. There are plenty of smart people here with great feedback. At the same time, there are a lot of us who would love your feedback on the hands that we post. As an aside, the advice you get will almost always be better if you look for feedback on a hand by hand basis. It's very hard to offer advice in a general sense because there are so many variables in play. Post some hands and I guarantee you that having other people's insight will help you look at your own game in a di
  20. One of the reasons that sound bankroll management includes having plenty of buyins for a higher level before moving up to that level is that each level has its own texture and style. Whenever you move up there is going to be a learning curve that involves experimenting and figuring out what works and what doesn't. If you get lucky, the transition goes smoothly and there's no looking back. But when you're well rolled you're better able to handle a rockier entry. Just keep at it and you'll find the winning comes quickly.
  21. What kind of crowds do Suns games bring in? I feel like if you get an angry enough crowd and an angry enough Steve Nash this might be one of those "No F---ing Way" games. If I can get a pretty good price I intend to lay a few bones on PHX.
  22. Your goal for Month 1 should just be to play 25-30 $1.20 SNG's at a positive ROI. Start with small, achievable goals and go from there.
  23. That's not what variance means. It's not "oh, I'm losing money, it must be variance."
  24. I had dinner the other night here. http://www.balthazarny.com/
