WHY IS EVERY FUCKING DECISION I MAKE THIS WEEK WRONG???Someone help me...EDIT: By the way, in the past I that would have put me on tilt and I would have gone and lost like 2.5K playing 5-10NL. Took me so long to deal with imageshack BS and typing this post that I already felt sorta better. Still I can't fucking believe I'm barely beating $10NL and I have some kind of rash. BEAT.

LOL, don't I know it. I've been betting Red with a Martingale system since '96...

Way to keep at it and persevere! Now if you could just stop getting dealt aces...

Last 10 WSOP winning hands:2006; Jamie Gold: 2005; Joe Hachem: 2004; Greg Raymer: 2003; Chris Moneymaker: 2002; Robert Varkonyi: 2001; Carlos Mortensen: 2000; Chris Ferguson: 1999; Noel Furlong: 1998; Scotty Nguyen: 1997; Stu Ungar: This bet is a crapshoot and seems way -EV. Don't bet on 2 red cards!

Commerce Flu is real but has more to do with the chips being filthy and people spreading germs all over them and then other people eating at the table. The only place that comes close to matching the disgustingness of the Commerce is the Taj Mahal.

I keep a tiny notebook and I take occasional notes while playing. No one seems to really care, and the people who notice are probably the people who are paying attention to how I play. If you're really worried, buy a racing form and pretend you're handicapping while secretly taking notes on your opponents. Then you have the added image bonus of looking like a gambling degenerate and getting what you want.

It's a scientifically proven fact that being whipped has a net effect of -2bb/100. Look it up.Oh, also, go fuck yourself poker. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I actually bet ~$2.50 and he folded. Was just wondering if maybe if a shove was better value. Sometimes I think I suck at vbetting. One of the reasons I'm slumming it in $10NL is I want the freedom to experiment without having to worry much about the consequences.

All the bets are filled with stuff on short odds. What's the point of prop betting if there's no chance to make a crazy bet with the opportunity for a huge payoff? As Cobalt pointed out the multiple bracelet bet is good value, especially since there's so many events this year. Also this bet:Which of the following players will last longer in the 2007 $10,000 buy-in WSOP Main Event? One Player Must cash for wager to have action. Not all players need to begin event for a wager to have action. No Parlays. Max $100Phil Laak 7/5 Jennifer Tilly 6/5 Antonio Esfandiari 7/5 You can lock up for Ant

Right - the reason you can play optimally in House games is that the House always plays by rigid rules which never deviate. Since you can never win at these games playing optimally is just reducing the House edge as much as possible. If you want to define "optimal" for poker, it would roughly mean always making the play with the highest value, but there are so many different ways to play and win at poker that it's really difficult to translate the thinking.

Wii is fun but with a high end system get a PS3 or a 360. -
You shouldn't have a problem selling them to someone but you'll get slightly less cash. For example a $500 lammer would sell for like $450-480 in cash depending on who you sold it to.

Played Poker With Richard "rip" Hamilton

Also the last time he heard anyone cheering for him in Philly. I was also at Game 5 of the 2001 Finals when the Lakers clinched over the Sixers. The Lakers weren't allowed to celebrate on the court and Kobe was escorted off by two armed policemen. Anyway the whole crowd was standing and cheering the Sixers' effort and a great season. Philly fans are not Detroit fans. -
Hollywood Park is the closest to West LA. Easy to get to and in a sketchy neighborhood. Valet park.

Played Poker With Richard "rip" Hamilton

Spring of 1997, saw Lower Merion vs. Coatesville at the Palestra. Packed house. Lower Merion and its star player, Kobe Bryant, wound up beating Coatesville and its star Rip Hamilton. In the second game of the doubleheader my high school (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was led by John Salmons. All three wound up in the NBA. That was an awesome night. -
I'm not much of a LHE guy, but can't you basically approximate someone's pre-flop range just from their vpip and pfr? e.g. a 25/10 guy always plays hands in X range and raises when hands fall in X range. LHE is repetitive anyway. Also doesn't the bulk of your profit/loss come from mistakes you make/induce post-flop?

Played live poker last night for the first time in over a month and was not satisfied. 2 hours of 2-5NL at a profit of $30 but I left a lot of money on the table.Hand of note: I have 7h5h in the BB, MP minraises to 10, SB calls and three of us take a flop of Q-7-4. MP bets 10 and all call to a turn of 5. Ordinarily I bet out here but MP has a habit of overbetting pots on the turn with very little and this is a great spot to check raise. On cue he bets 75. SB then pushes for 162 total. Now, SB happens to be one of my best friends and someone whom I've played several thousand hands with ov

So did he have the flush draw or the set of fives?
-
I think this spot right here is one of the toughest in NL. In this case, you raised almost the full pot on the flop and he called. So I'm giving him credit for some kind of hand. But wow, I'm trying to assess his range and it's reasonable he's ahead of us and it's reasonable we're ahead but he's got a bigger draw. I'm confused as hell by this one, so I guess my move is to check and see what develops on the river. Blah. This hand stumps me.

QFT. If I were teaching someone how to play winning poker from the ground up this would be the very first thing I pounded into their brain.Meanwhile, I'll keep taking money from every superstitious rube who wants nothing more than to get lucky and thinks he has a preternatural sense for when he'll spike his flush.
