I only browsed this thread, so I apologize if I'm just repeating something someone else said. First of all, it doesn't look like it was distinguished as to whether this is a tournament or a cash game. I would agree with folding KK preflop in a tournament, given a number of combined circumstances and a finite number of chips. Generally, in a cash game, though, folding KK preflop is incorrect across the board. Assume that when you're AIPF with KK and you win you'll get slightly better than even money each time. So if you win half of these hands you break even. I'm too lazy to post the math

I deposited on Stars a few weeks ago using Neteller with the instacash option - so basically even though I had no money in NT at the time the money was routed instantly from my account through Neteller directly to Stars and I never paid the instacash fee. Not sure if anyone else has had that experience or if that is a way to get around paying the juice.

Yeah, I'm guessing at the moment he's really pleased with the decision. I've seen him play, the guy has serious skills. Also, I like that people still scream "Pass the sugah!" at him at completely random times.

Do you really think you can keep beating the same home game repeatedly and sustain a living from it? Can you get me an invite? There's really no way to answer this question without the fear of being poisoned with radioactive Polonium is there? Let's just say I give Russia a nice little pat on the back for giving it the ol' college try in the Cold War. You're too young to remember, but after the Balboa-Drago fight things went way downhill.

Okay, let me take you seriously for a moment. You have a working bankroll of $4000. That is entirely appropriate for playing 1/2. But what are your living expenses? You're 16, do you still live at home? Do your parents pay so you have a place to sleep and food to eat? If not, what are your monthly expenses? If on variance alone you run poorly for a month (or two) do you have enough to sustain the bare minimums you need to get by? In addition, you're underage. Have you considered what will happen if the locations you frequent realize that and your revenue streams dry up? How many live

No way, High School is so overrated. Believe me, I finished High School and college, and all I have to show for it is a paying job with, like, health insurance and stuff. Chase your dreams!

Dude, you're 16! Stay in school and have sex with many cheerleaders while you still can... And The Crow is lame. I can already see you harrassing me for dollars in the Rio parking lot in 2013. But good luck I guess.

How about when 2 people have 2 pair, add up the value and whoever has the higher combined value wins, so 1010JJ (21) beats AA22 (16). Completely arbitrary, but would necessitate one more level of strategic thinking on some hands.

$500+60 tonight at the Borgata is a pretty good tournament although usually <10 tables. There are big events at the Taj and Harrah's this weekend also. Check their websites.

sent you a pm.

The poker rate at the Taj is $65 a night, although if you haven't played there much before you might have to do some arguing to get them to agree to give it to you. But it's a pretty good bargain. If you haven't played at the Borgata since last year, then you haven't been there since they opened the new room. It's much larger, and there's rarely a wait over 15 minutes. Also, enjoy taking the bus to AC from Port Authority - lots of fun degenerates who will ask if you want to share a cigarette at the Cheesequake rest stop in Jersey.

Daniel, How Many Times Did You Go Broke?
rgold79 replied to TrulyRaNd0m's topic in General Poker Forum
I can't possibly see being/going broke as something to aspire to. Most people who go broke stay that way, and their kids go hungry. My guess is Todd Brunson is more than okay with the fact that he's never been broke, regardless of whether that qualifies him as "great" or not. -
Man... I was hoping this thread was going to be about people who eat while playing live so I could tell the story about the time I was playing at the Luxor and we had to change decks 4 times in a half hour because an old man was eating the most nauseating plate of bacon I have ever seen and no one thought to ask him to stop eating. I play a lot in AC and at the Taj people are constantly eating and getting grease and ketchup all over the cards in addition to handling the filthy chips seconds before licking their fingers. At least at the Borgata they don't let you eat in the room.

I Don't Buy Into These Pstars Conspiracy Theories, But......

If I had a dollar for every time I made a full house and lost I'd still be behind several thousand dollars. -
My experience has been that the people who complain most about playing with lousy players are the people who are least capable of varying their style of play depending on table situation. Each game has its own unique set of players and so must be approached differently in order to maximize profitability. A table full of "donkeys" probably means the game is running loose. Personally, my strategy at a table like this is to play tight, pick my spots carefully, and pound people when I have the goods. Truth be told, this requires excellent discipline, and at live table seeing 30 hands an hour c

How Is The Area Around Commerce/bike Casinos?
rgold79 replied to benhoug's topic in General Poker Forum
I lived in LA for a summer and played probably 20-30 times at Hollywood Park. The neighborhood around it isn't great, but you can valet park for like $1 on weeknights, and most of the time people in the parking lot just leave you alone. Actually the only interesting experience I had in the parking lot there was walking in and walking right past Norman Chad with a woman I'm pretty sure was a hooker. -
It's pointless to analyze them together. Each hand is an independent entity, so each time the cards were reshuffled and dealt your odds of receiving aces were 1 in 221 as always. Now, if you could somehow place a parlay bet on what cards you would receive over a given series of hands... There's an upside, too, though, since the odds at the beginning of the hand are always 1 in 221, no matter what, you don't have to worry about not picking up aces once in your next 660 hands.

Regardless of which side of the political spectrum you fall on, one thing that everyone should remember today is that the ruling party was replaced in Congress yesterday and not a single drop of blood was spilled nor any claim made against its legitimacy. There are certainly a lot of problems in America, but I think everyone can agree that this is a profound reminder of how powerful democracy and the will of the people can be. A lot of people have died trying to do exactly what Americans got to do with little to no effort yesterday, and that makes it truly awesome in scope.

Okay so I've read a lot of posts on this forum but only today did I feel compelled to register and give my two cents because I think I get what you all are talking about.Anyway, for most of my online career I've done a lot of small grinding, mainly as a way of building up a bankroll to take shots in bigger and better tournaments. A few weeks ago I cashed for over 6K in a stars rebuy, by far my biggest haul ever. Right after that, I immediately started playing larger cash games and picked up an additional 2K within a week. Then, in one weekend of poor decision-making, that $2000 was gone. L
