  1. Oops! I missed that. So, it's just like he never doubled up in the first 2 mins anyway.
  2. February Goals:I have about $1400 in 20's stuffed in a sock in my underwear drawer. My goal for February is to stuff many more 20's into that sock. I'm hoping to be able to play live poker 2-3 times a week at some of the cardrooms here in New York, assuming my work schedule cooperates. Beyond that, I've suspended my online play because I may be moving to the West Coast and that bankroll would pay for the move. After playing 2K hands on Jan. 1 alone, I think I finished the month with around 3800 hands played and a tiny profit.
  3. Have you ever actually been to the United States?
  4. Why not? Seems a good bet that the ad revenue brought in by 6 hours of original programming each week is enough to pay those kinds of costs and still net the network a profit.
  5. This is 2 minutes and 20 seconds into a tournament, what kind of a read is he going to have? Sorry, OP, you were just going to lose all your chips on this hand. At least you invested no time in the tournament before running into the cooler.
  6. Use PT to track tournaments as well. Post a screenshot of the program you wrote. Would like to see how it looks.
  7. Here are his lifetime winnings on Full Tilt, for anyone who is interested.Viewing Player: Nitro_884 Tournaments played Total Winnings: $42 Total Final Tables: 1Date Tournament/Event Buyin+Rake Place Entrants Winnings 12/25/2006 Hold'em NL $1+$0 5 617 $40 12/13/2006 Hold'em NL $1+$0 75 697 $2
  8. You bought a boat and a new truck with poker winnings and worried about buying in for $500.
  9. I agree with the calling advice and would like to know why you copyrighted the flop. If it comes down on my table do I owe you money?
  10. This is either a) untrue or b ) you are long term winner live and vehemently complaining about losing 62bb in one online session. I'm going to have to lean towards A. Note: If B is correct that may be more embarrassing for you.
  11. It's not a matter of "taking" people's money. No one thinks Neteller is going to act maliciously. But they are a bank, and they are not holding everyone's cash in reserve. If everyone tries to withdraw money at once, and the bank can't secure enough capital to cover all the transactions (which is what is probably causing the delay), then the possibility exists that they will default and fold and people with money left in the their accounts will be out of luck. On a macro scale the rush on banks is partly what helped the Great Depression get rolling. With the creation of the FDIC, American
  12. Thank you. I am relatively new here. Though it seems like few people realize it, the strat forums on FCP are teeming with really strong ideas. I'm just trying to make a contribution.
  13. Dealers of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!
  14. Which cardroom? I live in NYC and play at several different rooms. PM me if you have any questions and I can fill you in on anything you might be confused about.
  15. If you read your opponents for competence, I would say folding on the flop is not the worst decision in the world there. That's just too terrible a board texture for bottom two. You can always fold and wait for a better spot.
  16. I'm curious as to whether your holding the Jd affected the way you chose to play out the hand. If you're evaluating the texture of the board, having that card blocks some of your opponent's potential holdings that could have you really crushed and might boost the value of a semi-bluff check-raise. Did you consider this, or would you have made the same play with JhJs?
  17. You may be a long term winner at this level but I guarantee you if you are you will increase your winrate by mixing more bluffs into your game. Doesn't have to be once every orbit but by bluffing that infrequently you are letting too many pots slip away. Mixing a little creativity into your game is a good way to improve many aspects of your game, and the cumulative total of pots gained need only be greater than the occasional caught bluff in order for bluffing to be a profitable play.
  18. This may be slightly off topic, but if you think this is bad you should see how the state and federal governments are refusing disability payments and medical coverage to police and firemen who served as first responders on 9/11 and subsequently became ill from breathing toxic air for months while working in the recovery zone. These people played a tremendous role in helping the country recover from that disaster and now many of them are being cast aside.
  19. Yeah, um, unless he's living in the United States illegally, he's paying Uncle Sam same as everyone else. Sorry.
  20. Watch Louis CK's hilarious new standup special on HBO. Then read here about how Dane Cook stole material from Louis CK and presented it as his own. That tells you all you need to know.http://scamboogah.blogspot.com/2006/06/dan...erial-from.html
  21. If all you really care about is record keeping and basic stats, then just use something like the free poker analyst on Cardplayer. But if you play online seriously at all, PT is well worth the cost and will pay for itself many times over.
  22. Tell him his idiot brother Chaos still owes me $200 from the Commerce. Thanks.
  23. $200 on the over. Grammar and syntax usage seal the deal. To the OP, save your $30 buy ins until you can deposit a legitimate amount. Collect a few hundred to adequately roll yourself for micro limit and then build from there. In the meantime keep studying and learning new things and then you'll be fine. But good BR management is part of the game.
  24. Why does something as benign as a toke cause such an uproar? Tipping in general is just a cultural norm in America that people understand as a series of unwritten rules. If someone performs a service for you, and they do it satisfactorily, give them a tip. If the valet brings me my car, I give him a dollar. When I take a cab, I tip the cabbie. When the waiter does his job well, I tip well. When it's merited, I will hold off on tipping. The last thing I will be is resentful of the fact that someone less fortunate or less well educated than myself has to rely on my generosity in order to
  25. I guess doing this would depend on whether dealers are pooling tips or not. Obviously if they aren't this wouldn't work.
