  1. Send a copy to each of your senators, too. Kudos for backing up your opinions with actual actions.
  2. Should I concern myself with how fast the field is shrinking in a given tournament and adapt my play accordingly? In other words, say 67% of the field is eliminated in the first 4 levels (I'm seeing numbers more and more like this online). The blinds are still low, so there's plenty of time to play. Should I treat this differently than if after 4 levels only 10% of the field has been eliminated?I know Harrington breached this topic somewhat in his discussion on the relationship between M and Q, but I'm wondering whether people approach tournaments differently when the field is depreciating
  3. Too hypothetical. They have the money, so you can't separate that from the reality. The luck factor is really what makes poker different from golf or basketball. When a poker player is running hot, all the skill in the world isn't going to help his opponent. On the other hand, in golf each shot occurs independent of the other. So even if you were to get lucky and stick an approach 3 feet from the pin, there's nothing to preclude Tiger from following you up and doing the exact same thing. And statistically he's much more likely to do so and to do so more often. Another thing you have to
  4. This is my impersonation of a potential Jamaican:Jamaica: So, Larry, do you have any more questions for us?Larry: No, not really. I'd just like to say again that I think I could be a really good fit here, and would be very successful.Jamaica: Well, we really appreciate your coming in here and sharing with us, and we'll get back to you soon. Dan from HR is going to give you some paperwork to fill out before you leave.Larry: Thanks again, I think I have great potential as a Jamaican.
  5. QFT. I've watched Tiger Woods play golf for more than 10 years, and I literally cannot remember one time when he choked (like Mickelson in last year's U.S. Open).
  6. From what I've read about Ritalin, doesn't have the affect of increasing awareness but also decreasing one's ability to think creatively? I think all stimulants have the effect of limiting some of our brains' capacity to process information logically. If you don't have a chemical imbalance in your brain, there are mind exercises you can do to strengthen your ability to concentrate that might serve you better in the long run. Still, if you've empirically found that drug use helps you play better, run with it, I guess.
  7. This is also why it's hard to build a bankroll playing nothing but HU SNG's. Most people don't win often enough to beat the rake. It's a lot like trying to beat the vig in sports betting.
  8. Yeah... I would say Tiger has much much more money at his disposal than Phil Ivey. I can't find a verifying link, but Fortune Magazine estimated Tiger's net worth a while back at around $300 million (and I think this was in 2005), and Golf Digest did a piece that speculated his net worth would approach $1 Billion by 2010. Actually, here's the link to the GD article, which cites Fortune. Suffice to say, Phil Ivey can't afford the kinds of prices that might make Tiger Woods nervous. http://www.golfdigest.com/features/index.s...00602top50.htmlAlso, LeBron makes tens of millions in endorsement
  9. Are New Yorkers allowed to be offended that DN called Toronto the most multi-cultural city in the world? Where's our apology? I feel lame having posted this, and I haven't even hit submit yet. Wait, here I go. Stupid index finger.
  10. I so wanted to be the one who posted this but you beat me to it. nh.
  11. The Taj is $64 I think and very easy to get.
  12. Umm.. yeah I still don't know how to get the lighter. Why do I still care?
  13. Wait... a carpenter from Israel... are you Jesus?
  14. How do you find the lighter?
  15. Yeah, I'm incapable of thinking on as many different levels as you are. This is why I leave the $3M buy ins to the rest of you.
  16. I guess I have to ask: What was the counter argument?
  17. I like to think that for some spiritual reason you're allowed only 1 post per calendar year, and that somehow you spent 8 months crafting this careful question. Seriously, though, this has been covered a billion times before and does not need to be rehashed.
  18. I'm hoping they double the guarantee amount, minimum. But I'm an optimist. GL.
  19. Not sure about money on FTP... actually I wonder if I can get money on there. My ATM card is still working for Stars, does anyone know if it'll still work on FTP as well? If not I'll probably be frantically trying to organize a Stars-FTP exchange with someone around 8:30.
  20. Who's playing? I'm on the fence... who am I kidding? I'll probably play.
  21. There really needs to be an option on this that says:Poker is my bankroll killer, because I am not very good at it.
  22. This would explain why the Democrats have taken control of Congress and the president has the lowest approval ratings of any in over 30 years. Wait, no it wouldn't.
  23. Thanks for the tip, I turned mine off. I do love boobies, but sadly not as much as I hate the possibility of mandatory sexual harrassment training for seeing them at work.
  24. Haha... There is absolutely no way this thing can possibly exceed anyone's expectations anymore.

    Minesweeper

In college I got bored once and decided to see how many games of freecell I could win in a row. Pretty sure I won about 1600 over the course of a couple of weeks. Coincidentally, I was not getting laid at the time.
