  1. Just easing back in to online. Won about $1500 playing live in Dec and made a small profit online. In January going to try to grind it out in tournaments and make some money. Also I've FT'd a fair share of tournaments the last couple months, and I'd like to break through and get a win. Also try to post more in the strat forums.

  2. For sure. Back in the early days of the internet, my sn was Gallandro.Mark
Wow. File that under things to not tell other people. Ugh never mind I'm a dork for knowing who that is.Here, people, should I jam the pot here?Poker StarsNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.05/$0.105 playersConverterStack sizes:UTG: $8.85CO: $15.35Hero: $8.95SB: $9.30BB: $5.75Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with K :D T :D2 folds, Hero calls, SB calls, BB checks.Flop: 5 :D 9 :) 8 :club: ($0.3, 3 players)SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.4, SB folds, BB calls.Turn: 7 :D ($1.1, 2 players)BB checks, Hero bets $1, BB raises to $2, Hero ???
  3. June Goalsgoal number 1 is to make the WSOP trip profitable. Online, I think 10K hands for June is a good number to shoot for and I'd like to win 10 buyins over that period.
Achieved Goal 1. Goal 2 is a no go. I played 193 hands of poker in June at $10NL and lost $5.35. I just haven't had much desire to play/post since I got back from Vegas. July:I'll keep it simple. 5K hands at a profit this month and I'll be happy.
  4. So I was adamant the other day that all you really need to do to kill this game was play solid ABC poker and let the money flow to you... and then I got crazy and landed myself in the following situation:HERO has $800 in CO with 86o. UTG+1 calls, folds to Hero who raises to $40 (you know... because... I literally hadn't opened a pot in an hour, I think I was bored and playing off a tight image. Still, the one guy who really worried me had recently left the table, and I felt like I could outplay most of the people left after the flop.)UTG+1 (covers) calls. SB (covers) calls. BB (covers) calls.Flop ($160): 8d - 7h - 6sChecks to Hero who bets $120. SB calls.Turn ($400): KdSB checks to Hero who bets $250. SB calls.River ($900): AsSB checks, Hero ???Do I just flip over my cards and I hope I've got the best hand here? It doesn't feel like I'm behind but I couldn't quite settle on what kinds of hands he would call with here for value on the end. Also, what do people think of the bet on the turn? Too little?

  5. I only actually ended up 500 in that session.. I got smoked for an 800 swing when my 11 failed to beat the dealer's 6. Poor Russ tried to bet on my hands when I was hot, and lost every time...bad timing dude.
Blackjack is sooo rigged. At least I demolished the all time hi score on Ms Pacman.
  6. Good luck Russ. You can't let Bill Chen be the only bracelet winner from Lafayette Hill.
Ha - I saw him playing deep in another event yesterday and I thought about asking him if he wanted to grab some Vino's Pizza the next time I'm in 19444.Good luck to any FCP'ers still in this event and others.
  7. Holy crap the WSOP is a ginormous clusterfuck. It's also the most weirdly lit poker room in history. So far the goal of not playing any -EV games the whole time here is going strong. Although I did place a bet on the Phillies to beat the Mets (they did, thanks Billy Wagner). I lost $1 playing poker for like 8 hours today :club:.

  8. There are machines that are over 100% payout with optimal play. Very small edge something like 100.1%. You basically gotta play like a machine to make money. But if you are also getting cash back with your comp card It can add .2%. There are actually people who do it for a living but the casinos are making it harder for them every day.
Yeah good luck finding one of these anymore. Also a lot of the value that comes from making these machines +EV is stuff like a progressive jackpot for a royal flush. Once you hit the royal flush you will be ahead over the long term, but you can dump a ton of money trying to get there.
  9. I will not own a suit for a long time. I will not do anything that sacrifices comfort when I could still have both style and comfort. Eventually I'll need one, but I'm honestly in no hurry to need one.
A well tailored suit is super duper comfortable. Cheap suits are cheap because they're not tailored to your body. But man, a crisp cotton shirt and comfortable suit that breathes... FTW.
  10. NO NO NO.LOL at anyone who thinks a Martingale system is a way to beat any -EV game in a casino. AND FOR THE LAST TIME THAT IS NOT WHY CASINOS HAVE MAX BETS AT TABLES. Tell a pit boss you want to keep doubling up your bet after a loss. He'll waive any max bet requirement right away. UM, HELLO, IF YOU SUDDENLY RUN INTO THE FICTIONAL MAX BET NUMBER ON TABLE X, WELL, WALK OVER TO TABLE Y IN THE HI LIMIT AREA AND KEEP PLAYING YOUR STUPID MARTINGALE SYSTEM. Your odds of winning the next hand are exactly the same. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE! AMAZING! If you play with this system you are 100% guaranteed to lose all of your money eventually. It doesn't matter if your bankroll is $1, $1,000,000 or $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000..................000,000,000,000. You cannot beat mathematics. Please stop embarrassing yourselves.

  11. It's just gamesmanship. C'mon, ever see how runners strategically place themselves to block a fielder's view of a groundball until the last possible second? These guys are supposed to be professionals. If Jeter does this he's a gritty competitor. This is only news because it's A-Rod.
