He won that time, and unless you were planning on playing multiple matches, I don't see the problem with him leaving. Anyone should be able to leave a poker game at anytime they feel without being pressured to stay. As to whether or not he was doing it for your own good, that's anyone's guess. He probably was using it as an excuse to leave and keep his fifty bucks. It does seem to me like you are mad about it though.
