I posted this in general as well, thought I'd post it here too since off topic seems to be better nowadays. I'm getting ready for a heads up tourney in a couple of weeks and am looking to practice online. Well, it's official, after Saturday's defeat to Liddell, Randy Couture is officiall retired. Let us all tip our glasses to one of the sport's greatest athletes and ambassadors.

Arlovski looks good because he isn't fighting in Pride. He isn't fighting people like Fedor or Crocop. He's fighting the big dumb slow heavyweights in UFC. Anyone remember what happened to Lidell when he went over to Pride to fight Jackson? I think Arlovski going over would be a lot like that.

So I used to have a bankroll before I blew it on stupid shit. Now I'm starting to play cards again and building up a roll. With that being said, I'm moving into strategy. If some of the locals could give a shoutout in this thread just so I know who frequents here often, that would be great.

Only Pride I can see is that show on FSN but it seems more like an infomercial for their pay-per-view shows than a real show. I could download the videos off of emule, though but I always hate waiting for 2 days to see them. Vanderlei Silva is a monster. That guy seriously scares me. There are some real beats on Pride. I've seen some guys get hit in the many many times but they just wouldn't go down. Ken Shamrock fought some guy and he beat the hell out of him with numerous upper cuts but the guy just wouldn't fall. He eventually had to just throw in the towel because he was tired or something. -

I'm going with Randy as well, although I think it truly is a toss up. As for as the poke in the eye thing, he was looking pretty good that fight and after the thumb, his whole demeanor seemed off. I think it had something to do with him losing the fight as well.I'm gonna pick Randy in this one via slams and ground and pound...i might be crazy but i really think that poke in the eye that randy suffered in the last fight threw him off enough to lead to that KO.I might be very wrong, but i have a feeling Randy is going to bring it this time. -
Hughes is going to beat the shit out of Royce. Royce, while a great grappler, has not evolved his game (at least the last times we saw him). Being mounted is no longer an undefendable position, and fighters today are incredibly well rounded, Hughes being perhaps one of the most well rounded. My friend described it best, while it's going to be a great "novelty fight" there is really only one choice to win this thing.Royce Gracie is a frickin badass. He will armbar Hughes by the end of the first round -

I've busted a few times. To recover, unfortunately I just go back to working at a regular job until I feel like I have enough money to play again comfortably. I feel lucky enough at this stage of my life to be able to go broke and bounce back a few months later because as it stands now, I don't have anyone to take care of other than myself.
